    This is outstanding. I've been thinking about getting into knife making for a while, but videos like this reeeaally make me want to do it. Your attention to detail and craftmanship are incredible, and this is as much a piece of art as it is a tool. Bravo sir.

    I have owned a few Bowie knives in my time, but this one is one of the very best I have seen. I could watch your videos all night long (and I have watched all your videos) one very special blade. Respect from Sheffield ;-)

    Kapa dole maestro. uzivanje gledati nekog ko ima takvo znanje i volju. Ocigledno je da uzivas u tome sto radis zato te je uzivanje gledati dok radis. A vlasnici tvoji nozeva(ukljucujuci moju malenkost) su sigurno ponosni na tvoje radove. samo naprijed

    What is achieved by putting it in the fire and then the oven?

    • @shmand
      @shmand 5 лет назад +1

      I believe it's to make the steel harder and more stable? It reduces breaking.

    • @leema89
      @leema89 5 лет назад +1

      Hardening and tempering.
      The heating up and rapid cooling makes it hard but brittle (a bit like glass).
      The tempering afterwards reduces the hardness slightly but makes it less brittle so it is less likely to break.

      if you want to make it blue, use electricity! the waterjet channel did a colab with a dude that i forgot his name( thats why i saying them instead if him) who took a knife they made and turned it gold using electricity. he could have also turned it blue, you should watch it if you plan on ever making knives different colours. ill come back with the video link for you!

  • @andrewgray9663
    @andrewgray9663 5 лет назад

    Absolutely beautiful quality of finish. Seen a lot of knife videos but rarely seen such excellent grips. I find the style of blade way over the top, impractical and ugly but made with a skill which has taken a long time to develop. To be commercially successful you may do better with a more mainstream design of blade. Still can't fault the quality of manufacture.
