Looks great! Well made video as well! Loving the handle material. By the way, what are you dusting on at 14:00? Also, what did you use to darken the steel? I'm curious how you re-darkened the spine after sanding/working the handles. I've applied Ferric Chloride with a Q-tip to redarken mine in the past. Only drawback to recurves (to me) is they are a PITA to sharpen...
what buffing agent did you use for the handle? I work with stabilized wood and I can't get such a high gloss finish with just sand paper and rubbed down with oil
Hello! First of all, thank you for all the information you share and for showing your work, they are fantastic. I would like to ask you what do you add to the blade before austenizing? (minute 2:18) Thanks from Argentina
Beautiful knife but I might have ground that finger guard down a bit if I were to buy it... seems odd and a bit out of place protruding out like that.... What would a blade like this cost, you have a website?
Thank you. We are trying to achieve a unique style that would indicate itself who made the blade. I know it's a long way, but in my opinion worth a try ;) I also handsign a certificate for each knife ;)
Jim Bowie would-be proud to carry & use that knife, great job! 2 suggestions for you gents, 1 do away with gloves while grinding or using drills so you don't get sucked in to machinery & get hurt,2 invest in KANT TWIST CLAMPS to replace those nasty old c-clamps which twist & bind. I'm a welder by trade I've replace all of my c-clamps with Kant-twist clamps & have never had a issue with a them binding or loosening up while working on any metal with them, they hold tight & do not twist
Thanks a lot for these kind words. The gloves are the nitril gloves that I can easily break with my hands, so even if they get sucked in, nothing would happen. The c clamps that we use are very strong 75 mm clams, they're very robust and do the job they're made for. Thanks for the suggestions though 😊

Perfect music. I would like a recurved blade, only not so much recurved, and with a straight top, not curved like the "Bowie." Also with a bright metal top edge for striking a fire-stick. That would be a very good "bush knife." I don't think you make anything like that. But the Bowie is magnificent.
Barbershop Customs --okay but i'm told the black spine has to be cleaned of all black first: i don't actually know. Maybe simple oxidation works. Black teflon or something will not.
