I'm so glad I found your channel, I'd love to see a video of you just explaining how you got into knife making, talk about the tools and methods you use. Excellent build, beautiful end result, thank you!
Steven Gunn have you ever heard of Alec Steele? He is by far a better blacksmith. He forges Damascus steel. This guy just cuts metal. Alec Steele could make this in his sleep.
Good evening 😉 Youre knives are An true work of Art... If i had the money ... I would liked a D-guard scout knife... For handles a Pearle White royal blue and gold color scheme... Keep up those awesome knifes u Bright up my days watching Them. Be safe.
In the beginnig I didn't have the tools either. I started with one single file, a hacksaw and a torch. With those 3 things and patience you can make a kinfe :)
That is so good. Pure eye candy there! Hey, I know it may be expensive for me since i'm on limited budget, but just to have an idea, how much would you charge for a knife just like this lava knife?
Excellent work, sir! Can you tell me if you are still making this model and if you ship to France? I want one in .25 inch thickness, no holes in the blade, and no scales. Please tell me if it's possible. Thank you and best regards.
Minimalist or traditional are well favored Bec they are long favored. I rather see new innovation than re hash of what's always been done for sake of filming a show to be watched. Skeletonized knives are very minimal and I do like those alot
New knife maker here! I’m going to using a file bevel jig. How do you know what angle to start filing at? What thickness of steel is good to start with? I’m going to be starting with a hunting/skinning knife.
To start i would take a steel with a thickness of 3 mm. Mark two lines indicating the center of the blade so that you know, where to stop filing. Then you start with a steep angle until you reach the first line. By reducing the file angle you can bring the bevel up your blade until you reach your desired bevel height :)
amazing job !!!! i ll start to build my own because of you !!!! thanks !!!! wich steel or carbon steel would you recomand to build a hunting skinning knife ?

What liquid you use to protect knife surface in hardening process?
It is in place of using inert gas in the kiln or stainless steel foil wrap. Look for heat treat coatings on the computer

Por qué mete el cuchillo en el horno?
Your build quality is top notch but I wish the designs were more traditional/minimalist. Still love your vids.
This design was according to the customer's wishes :)
But it's true that I also like mor aggressive looking knifes :D
