2023 RAF Typhoon Display at Bournemouth Viewed From Shieldhall Steam Ship

The RAF Typhoon is the number one best display viewed from the Shieldhall steam ship, moored near the Bournemouth airshow display line, the Typhoon circles and passes overhead. The Shieldhall steam ship is run by volunteers who do a great job keeping this old vessel ship shape.

That's what I like about this years Typhoon display pilot, he knows that people like to see plenty of afterburner and vapour on the wings, circling the ship looked good and as you say flying over and going verticle was great to see and hear, blackjack is defo my favourite paint livery on the Typhoon, I always keep my fingers crossed hoping blackjack is doing the display its a pleasure to film it.

I understand that the F22 has more power and a bigger wing and probably better high-altitude performance (and some stealth) but the Typhoon always mesmerises me. I wonder if there has ever been a direct comparison. As always, thanks for the content over these years. Oh and I was surprised to find out recently that they are already talking about retiring the F22. It didn't do anything yet!!

RAF Typhoon pilots have always performed well in red flag exercises against the F22, but the US always keeps some of it's military aircraft capabilities secret even from it's allies, I think the high operating costs of the F22 is why it might be retired, it is a great aircraft to see displaying.
