One of the best live albums ever. I had the extreme pleasure to see them at Giants stadium in the Meadowlands in 1978. Unbelievable. I became an instant Frank fan for life.
Influenced me like no other Before Frank Hendrix but itl was seventies then Stevie Ray Vaughn enter eighties n no one like them since A glorious time to experience Heaven at work🎉 When civilization was still worth saving😢
Guitarists of the seventies all were bewildered by Franks passion n creativity of psychedelic recreation of an Hendrix era of originality beyond compare No one came close until the eighties virtuosos enter Satriani Vai Malmsteen Eric Johnson but Marino had what they could never duplicate was a spirituality of the soul😂❤
I saw Frank Marino when I was 14. It was the Monsters of Rock Oakland colliseum. Frank opened followed by AC/DC with Bon Scott, then Aerosmith and Ted Nugent. One of the best concerts I've been to as a young man but I was there to see Frank Marino and he did not disappoint.
Got turned on to Frank from this album. Was 1976-77 and was a mere 16-17. I said, "This is badassest man since Jimi" and (mahogany) rushed out to see him at Market Square Arena in Indy. Styx opened for him - teeny boppets - and then Frank camw on with bitchin distortoin; you could see the teeny boppers in their mass exodus. This song. Frank finished and said. "Are they gone? Lets f***in rock & roll". 45 years ago. Never will forget it!
Hey Skippy...check out FRank's Ain't Dead Yet and then Uli jon Roth's Electric Sun's EARTHQUAKE. believe it or not, they're friends. If you ain't heard Uli you are missing a whole lot. I'm a big Frank fan.
In the late 80's I got the Live VIDEO from 79 Montreal TV and pretty much stopped listening to this as it is all covered and there were visuals. Frank was not just a great STUDIO musician...He could do IT LIVE. World Anthem man. Whoa. A masterpiece. still in 2018.
I had the privilege of being at the concert where they recorded the entire "Side-2 of Frank Marino "LIVE", In Tulsa, OK. at the Fairgrounds Pavilion. One of my Rock & Roll "claims to Fame"!!! LOL
"Hey hey, always makes me mad....don't really think what I'm doin" is all that bad." Damn straight Frank. Loved ya. Great to have seen you more than any other artist I saw. Jehovah God bless you. Keep rockin" if ya still can. Peace. Windrose
Thank you, Mr. Windrose It is, INDEED, a small world when God's name is spoken. As prophecy goes, Jehovah's house where Frank's soul is givest of a welcomed breeze on the hottest day...... And Frank carries his task well. He plays a ' Solid Guitar' as well. And ever mindful as he is devout, He Gives lessons in the key of 'Strat' when he sings of Norweigan Wood. Now would Jehovah God ever accept nor expect any the less? God bless all here
J6 with this and "World Anthem!".!!!! Little-biity o'h Lynard Ski-Nn-ardo & some Outlaws. Get it!? Don't...wait fur it. I am the gov (bought/payed for), that are "actually" here.
Frank got alot of flack for sounding like Jimi too soon after Jimi left us. The obvious influeces shows but maybe he was furthing the bar Jimi set a bit further by not taking but being influnced. Called inspiration.

Yes with "Unleashed in the east" both made in 1978. Great year.
Wow, I could have written this exact same comment. Never heard of him until that concert w/ Journey, Ted Nugent and Aerosmith. Instant fan!

From who? Korea? Doesn't matter...the music is neither nor. It's why it's so good.
Whats a amazing is how he Gets a Gibson SG to sound like a straticaster
His SG has three single coil pickups it. That's how.
I like the sound, but it's not a strat sound.
