    I like the looks of these for a house I'm building. Just thinking longevity how hard is it to pull the lights back out of the ceiling after you snap them in there in case you need to replace them?

    • @ModernHobbyist

      Not too hard at all! The spring clamps are strong but not so strong you can’t flex them back to get the light out 👍

    Maybe dumb question but I just ordered 2 different packs of these and one pack is 1000lm and the other is 1050lm. Debating if I should return one , will they be noticeable difference you think off the 50 lumens difference ?

    • @jayrose9463
      @jayrose9463 2 дня назад

      Not a dumb question
      My first box looked different than second.
      Junction is smaller on newer box and newer box says 1050lms while they still show on am azon as being 1200 lmn
      Don't know what to make of it but will be an issue is they light different
      Light panel looks to be the exact same so I'm just going to give it a go and see.

    • @ModernHobbyist
      @ModernHobbyist  6 месяцев назад +1

      It’s technically parallel, white to white and black to black throughout, but series in the sense that you run wire from one light to the next (rather than from the source to each light individually). Hope that makes sense!

    • @ModernHobbyist
      @ModernHobbyist  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah sorry about that! It was 100º here in Iowa so I couldn't stand being in the attic long enough to film anything. Wiring is simple enough though, basically all the lights will be wired in series. It gets more complicated if you have a three-way switch setup, but essentially the neutral, hot and ground from the first light just connect to the corresponding neutral, hot and ground on the second light which connects to the third, etc... Hard to explain in words, but I hope that makes sense!

  •  7 месяцев назад

    I’ve never seen someone use a power drill to screw in light switch faceplate screws…..lol.

    thank god you rewired that outlet, never pass the neutral through the plug to another wire. Dumbest thing you could do.
    Outlets are only rated for 15amp circuitry, clearly 20 amp circuits can exceed that limit, which are fairly common.
    When you pass the electricity through the plug instead of a junction splice, you risk turning that plug outlet into a filament for the brand new micro heater you just installed into that junction box.

    • @ModernHobbyist
      @ModernHobbyist  Год назад

      Good to know! Sadly that wasn’t the only electrical no-no I’ve seen in my house so far. Most of them have been updated, but the previous owners decided to build a shower on top the the electrical panel…
