Those cookies look incredible Julie. I have a few tips for you as regards to the stamp pads and wooden stamps that hopefully might be some use to you. Although please don't think I'm dictating, lol. I don't make cookies as incredible as these. But these ideas might help you out and save you a few pennies too. And I know you mentioned in this video that your view can be obstructed by the wooden block on the stamps, so hopefully this info will help. I am a crafter and use stamps a lot in my projects. There are products from Ranger called Cut n' dry foam. They have a whole range of different stamp pad foams that come in 8x10 sheets (2 to a pack I think). The purple packaging foam is like the brown pad you were using in this tutorial. The yellow packaging one is like the harder felt pad you had there but didn't use. I thought it might save you money to buy these larger foam sheets and that way you can make your ink pads as big or small as you like and just store them in air tight boxes or ziplock bags. Also, if you find wooden stamps a bit awkward to stamp because of the wood, you can unmount them and use them on your acrylic blocks like the other loose stamps. You can simply pop the stamps in the microwave for 10 secs and peel off the stamp from the wood. The sticky foam backing will most likely be useless therefore, you simply peel off the red rubber stamp and you can buy a product similar to the foam sheets that is specifically for mounting rubber stamps with the backing that adheres to acrylic blocks. You place your rubber stamp back onto the sticky side, cut around the image. Then peel off the backing paper which has the dry cling backing that adheres to your blocks and peels off exactly like your other stamps. Its called EZ Mount or the other brand is Kling Mount backing foam. You can get all these products on Amazon, or at least I know we can in the UK. Hope that helps you out some Julie. I love seeing how all the different craft products can cross over and be used elsewhere. Lee xx
Another great video. in your "dusting" video I wish you would show this stuff I saw in another video called disco dust. I saw some butterflies done with it, and they looked fabulous.
***** that is interesting about ink pads, thanks for the tip about foam ones and airbrush colors. Great to know. Thank you. I can't think of anyone else with more experience with stamping on cookies than you. You are great source of information.
gracias Julia por tu maravilloso vidéo estoy tratando de aprender técnicas para una mejor presentación de galletas este me ha sido de utilidad Dios te bendiga
Hi Julia! I'm Irene and I'm italian! I love cooking and baking, but I'm not so good with decoration... Thank's to your videos now I know something new and I'll follow your advice! Today I'll try to use Royal Icing for my cookies! Thank you!

Hi thanks for the tutorial. Now to try on cookies. A tip when re-inking you could use the back of a spoon to spread the ink rather than waste the colour on a paper towel. TFS.
I use the paper towel specifically to blot up excess food coloring; otherwise it is too easy to over-ink the stamp and get a messy application. A spoon would not soak up extra coloring.
Hi Julia, wauw, awesome how quickly you reply. I have found what I needed thanks to your help. As a non-native speaker it was not obvious to know how to find it, but now it is. Thanks for that!
I read in your comments that you liked to use food grade stamps but also listed a link for non food food grade stamps so can you use regular non food grade as long as they have never been used for ink and have been Sanitized? Thank you for your time and your wonderful videos. I’ve bought and use your beautiful stencils. You’re amazing🙂
Thanks for the super kind words and supporting my stencil line! I use non-food-grade, sanitized stamps, and that's good enough for me - but whether you consider that suitably safe is your call.
Hey Julia, do you have any tips on shipping cookies? It's winter, so they won't be heat damaged, but I'm worried about them scratching in the container since it will likely be thrown around a bit. Would a piece of parchment paper between each cookie in a sealed container be fine or is there another way to help keep the icing from being scratched? I'm planning on doing some stamping so I don't want the stamp to rub off.
I,m a little confused on the stamps I can use. Some that you mention like the “thank you” stamp say they aren’t food safe. So I guess I can still use them?
Are you using the royal icing that u taught before to fade the rose into pink color? or u use the glue icing *maybe* that u taught? :D i'm amazed with the fade color ^_^
Yes, I reserve a pad for each color, and I typically don't wash in between. You could, but I don't because I enclose the pads in sealed containers between uses. I have a link to the pads I use in the video description under the video. I typically have loads of notes and source info in that area, so that's always a good place to check first. But here you go: www.amazon.com/Tsukineko-UI000001-Uninked-Foam-Pad/dp/B005F9E3CM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333666833&sr=8-1
Hello Julia. I ordered some stamps online, and three of them were labeled as “gently used”. There is absolutely no ink stained onto it, so it appears they have been kept clean. However, I do want to sanitize them. I was reading your “Q&A” on sanitize stamps, and I want to make sure I am doing this properly. I can take regular chlorine bleach (like what is used to wash clothes) and I am guessing dilute it in water to wash the rubber stamps? I am also guessing they need to be rinsed after sanitizing with bleach? Is there a specific amount of bleach that’s used? This is going to be my first time rubber stamping (not a chef, just thought they’d make nice gifts). Thank you for all these videos!
Julia M Usher I got bleach and sure enough, there were directions on how to mix it properly for sanitizing. I had no idea. Thank you for taking time to answer a question with an obvious answer. I love all of your creations.
As long as you want. As long as the eggs are salmonella-free to start, the icing sets very fast and is high in sugar content, and so not prone to bacterial growth. But, as I believe I mentioned to you the other day, you can always make this icing with meringue powder to avoid the risk of salmonella. I give meringue powder substitutions in the recipe.
Hi! I love your videos! I'm trying to stamp but I'm having issues with my Royal icing, it doesn't seem to set fully. after 18h (including 3h in a dehydrator) it's still not hard. any help would be greatly appreciated!
just as an FYI, I use the recipe for RI that you have in your Ultimate cookies app.. icing sugar, cream of tartar, egg whites and lemon extract.. with water to loosen.
Hi. I tried stamping some cookies this year for Christmas, and I wasn't successful, largely because my iced cookies weren't level--they ended up kind of wavy. I tried tapping them and waving them back and forth while they were still wet. Do you have any hints to get the royal icing to dry more level?
Hello:) What is the ink you use ? Can you use the same ink to paint with a paint brush on the cake ? It’s obviously edible right ? Sorry didn’t mean for all the questions just so curious :)
I use liqua-gel food coloring to stamp on the cookie and an edible dust to apply dry color later (dry dust with dry brush). The video explains all of the products used, and, yes, all are edible, of course!

"What You'll Need" is "missing" step 4 (unless just not numbered correctly). Steps go from 3 to 5 (missing step 4). Love your videos Julia!

Thanks ,I wonder where have you bought the stamps and how are they called ?

Love your videos and books.
would airbrush colors work well with this technique or would they be too thin?
Hi Julia, can one use Americolor soft gel paste on the foam pad when you refer to food coloring? thanks so much
Have opened everyone of the notices, but cannot find the rubber stamp for the rose you showed in the video. Can you tell me where to purchase it?
Dear Julia, your video is great. I wonder where you got the gridded plastic to use for the stamps? Thanks beforehand for sharing!

Hello, I love all your work. Can I replace egg with aquafaba in gingerbread dough and royal icing??
Julia M Usher Thank you. Sure, will definitely try and share.
I love the rose stamp where did you find it?
Use a gift or credit card to apply food colouring, it will press ink into pad, so you lose less and it will keeping it moist longer.
I,m a little confused on the stamps I can use. Some that you mention like the “thank you” stamp say they aren’t food safe. So I guess I can still use them?
Take the back of a spoon and encourage the food coloring into the ink pad, before wiping away any excess, for less waste.
hi I still can't find the rose stamp you used in any link you provided
Are you using the royal icing that u taught before to fade the rose into pink color? or u use the glue icing *maybe* that u taught? :D i'm amazed with the fade color ^_^
do you have multiple pads for each color? Do you wash the pads? What is the exact name of the acrylic rubber pads. Unsuccessful searching for them

Thank you, for sharing your beautiful work.. My question....Are these cookies edible?. Royal Icing gets hard
Thank you, Mrs. Usher. I will make some cookies
What recipe do you use to make your top coat? I know it's icing glue but is it a special kind or just regular?
Looks amazing
How long this cookies can stay out because the icing made with white eggs, thank you for everything you teach us !

how do you apply wafer paper to the cookie.
Querida pró, assisti a aula da Eduk com a senhora, aula maravilhosa, mas gostaria que mandasse a legenda deste vídeo para nós brasileiras.
Can you tell me what cookie cutter you're using? I see it in a lot of your videos I'd love to buy it. Thanks.
Great, thank you for the reply!
might help to use a brayer when stamping the cookie
It could, though I feel I get really good results without needing another tool.
Wonderful always ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you so much 😀
Hey Julia,
I'm wondering where you find wafer paper?
I've been looking for it and have no success whatsoever
Do you have any suggestion on where I may buy it.?
Thank you very much Julia.
I'll be watching your videos more often!
One more question do you sell your cookies? They look so delicious :3
Would normal unused stamp work just as well?
And do you have to use wafer paper for testing? Can you just use parchment paper instead?
Whats the use for the wafer paper?
Sorry for all the questions :D
Thank you very much I appreciate it!
Thx for your time!
Thanks, found it!
