  • Violently Rough on the second half it was the last lane of the trip and had to be driven so the light was fading... Plenty of space to turn around as the gate at the bottom is pedestrian/bike width only.

Hello once again - I did the challenging part of this lane in my Yeti at the weekend and while my video details clutch and flywheel issues, my fears were unfounded as both are fine save the clutch having worn maybe an average road 5k miles in the process - bit of blue smoke and a wait upon the hill for things to cool but made it up and the 40 miles home via the M1 after. Didn't film the last part on return as needed my phone battery in case of recovery being required, which wasn't. Jacked up and had a look under on my driveway tonight and all is well after re-bending a couple of heat shields (one was interfering with the prop shaft), with a good drive after to confirm. Clutch has only lost around 10% bite and was like new before so all is good, just need to get the smell of the smoke out of the seats... can do most mechanical work myself having done timing belts and all sorts previously but would rather leave until I can pay for it to be done. 🤣
The Duster and Yeti are superb cars for green-lane enthusiasts on a budget. They really shine through in the market - my Yeti is mechanically a mk6 VW Golf with Haldex 4x4 system and a sporty one at that though that only matters on the road, and it is indeed almost perfect on the road despite the General Grabber all terrain tyres I've fitted which on the flip side further enhance its off-road capabilities (while our BOATs are indeed roads, they're not roads to most folk and I've pay & play days planned for genuine off-road fun at private sites). It would only be improved with a low range gear option, the Haldex having worked perfectly despite not being selectable and without diff locks. It has seriously impressed me, though that being said I'll not attempt that portion of Jumble Road again. 🤣
    My own trip... 🙂 ruclips.net/video/pRMTgPnR9Bo/видео.htmlsi=HhQqk59UglSYbJws

    Hi Adam,
Skoda Yeti driver here (170bhp TDI with gen 5 Haldex 4x4 system), not too dissimilar to the Duster, no mods thus far other than Michelin all terrain tyres for better grip and 1/2" extra ride height. How did you find the drive back up Jumble Road (I wish you'd recorded that though appreciate not the best result in the darkness)? I'm thinking of tackling it this week and knew from my own research that it must be done in return with no exit at the bottom. I've joined GLASS and am using Trailwise2 to rationalise my previous research via county Definitive Maps, TW2 being the most up to date with user comments etc, a superb resource. I too have zero desire to go where I shouldn't nor to cause problems with other users on legally permissible lanes, and having become a subscriber a few weeks ago I'm enjoying watching my way through your videos and can say that you're a great inspiration for me to get out and enjoy the hobby. :)

@@autisticadventuressteam83 thanks for watching. It's a case of weaving in and out of the rocks if I recall going up was easier, however both ways wasn't particularly difficult just take it slow and weave in and out
