Groovy episode. Clean water unit, very cool.
Good to watch a RUclips video where the couple can actually talk! No connecting words!
I absolutely love your spice rack The way you have it hung is actually very decorative as well looks awesome
I like the water maker install. Just one technical point. The 110v supply that you said you can connect either way, is an AC supply. So it won't make the motor turn the opposite way. Whichever way you connect it, the pump will turn the same way.
I like the idea of the manual rinse valve. Keep things simple.
Ohh yep you’re right it’s AC not DC! One direction
very talented Travis. great install job always my favorite channel between Steph’s cooking and your ingenuity
We've been very happy with our SeaWater Pro that we've had for about 7 years. Thanks, Mike!
It’s the best! 🙌🏻
Thanks a lot for the detail.Install will be needing it in the future🎉
We love the stainless membrane housings but man they are heavy! Nice upgrades to Jibsea 2. Hopefully all those magnets don’t have an effect on the autopilot compass. 😊
Thanks for the updated insight into a Seawater Pro System, as they had already made it to the top of my list of potential Water maker suppliers, and had started thinking in terms of getting one with a larger output than a 12 volt system, precisely for regularly washing the Salt out of Sails, the Chain locker, washing the side decks, and Dodger and Bimini to help all to last as long as possible, with the added bonus of plenty of water for Showers. Nice installation. 👍 Bob In Wales Still.❤️⛵️🇬🇧🏴
Looks good. But the unanswered question is about the condition of the tanks. What have you done to check their condition and clean them out? And that space - you really need to wipe out all that brown stuff in there! Love your videos!
Conditions of our main 2 tanks are great, those are what we use to drink. The first one is probably fine but def would need a good cleaning
Congrats on 50K subscribers!
Thank you!!
Niiiiiiiiiice work, Travis !!!!! Sea Water Pro is your go-to as individual parts are a SMART IDEA for living aboard !! Have you heard of Sun Pure?? Also made with the same philosophy.....separate parts which are available all over the world. It is fun seeing you both put together your new live aboard boat. See you next time. ✨🌊⛵⚓🌴👙🌞✨
Have your water hose from the water maker go to a 3 way manifold block that then has a hose going from the manifold block to each of your tanks. You then can select which tank you want to fill by opening the valve on the manifold block and closing the valves to the tanks that you don't want to fill.
Great episode, thanx for the education.
jez I love, love the look of your boat. It's a tough look.
Btw. 👍🏻 on 50k. took way to long for people to wake up
DVD player 😂😂 Great vid! Miss you two!
Gotta have something to watch all the blu rays he won’t get rid of lol
Build a small manifold with valves and one-way check valves to choose where to send the fresh water. You could put it next to the Tank/Test valve. I do like these Seawater Pro systems and think I'll get one when it is time.
Cool stuff
You guys are really going to be traveling in style when you get Jibsea II refit. I, too, love the spice rack. I'm going to show it to my sister. You never have enough counter space, even on land.
Wow lots of of work, well done. Never used a spice rack.
Love your videos there, Canadian. Me too! BTW ... 3 phase as you say is a far different 440 volts or more(as in industrial supply) The phase is a function of the tap off the transformer on the pole at the street, etc . The wire I presume you are using is 14/2 (15 amps), or 12/2 (20 amps) and the green ground is necessary of course but one usually does not count the ground wire into the name. Eg: 14/3 is black, red, white and ground which will give you 220 volts across black/red in N. America. Sorry to be persnickity but hardware stores these days usually call a common extension cord 3 lead when that is incorrect. It is 2 lead and the green ground is a given. Love your new boat, your great explanations, your journeys and your presentation. Smooth sailing.
With all the work you have done on the boat recently...do you have some kind of meter that checks for stray electrical current running 🏃♂️ through the boat ...as you know if you have it will destroy your boat also a steel and all metal parts on a grp .....
Can the aluminum hull be painted? Would help it so much...
Leaving it raw
Vibration may be an issue with suspending the membranes, great install in one locker rather than multiple locations .Awesome boat. Regards
Nice video.. Sea water pro seems like a great system.. If it wasn’t for the price I would absolutely love sea water pro.. I hate spending money ugh.. We are slowly preparing to move to our boat living so far from our boat makes it expensive and difficult plus our boys are still in school. My wife Maria and I love your advice and new projects you do but mostly your positive attitude and energy.. We are young whipper snappers like you and we move slower since we know nothing about boats.. Thanks for the inspiration.. Take care
Wahoo can’t wait to see JIBSEA 2 dancing on the Waves , but I guess I have to .
It may not matter but you can change rotation switching T8 and T5 everything else does not matter for tour 2 hots or neutral hot
Is that a watertight bulkhead you've just fed the membranes through? I found the previous owner of my boat had passed the 6" hot air vent through the bulkhead that would stop me sinking if the rudder seal failed!
Oh dang. No the membranes weren’t fed through a watertight bulkhead. We’ve got watertight and crash bulkheads in different areas, not where the membranes weren’t fed through
In google it says that in the US and UK brown is positive and blue is negative, just checking as I think you said it the other way around.
Good catch! Will have to double check if he only misspoke or actually miswired!
Just be careful how you use the magnets. It can affect your compass readings 😮
You should shield the panel from all that water that will be near to the panel. Not sure about placement. Maybe nothing will ever leak but it might.
You need generator running to do purification?
To avoid depleting our house bank quickly for how long we’d have to run it, we’d just run it off an external genny
@@SailingJibsea We do not have a generator but do have inverter. would you still get AC or should we go with DC?
@@SailingJibsea I like you guys and your vlog but that's so not sustainability. That's burning fossil fuels to get water. Newport systems are 1/3 the power draw.
@@JoeKelley-f2e we had no inboard generator but wanted to AC for the output so got the external genny for that and redundancy. Esp bc we cruise in areas with lack of solar
If I understand what you said, you have your high pressure guage plumed in PRIOR to the high pressure pump??? How can that be? That guage should be showing what your "boost" or low pressure pump puts out.
👍👍🥳
PS. Your plan to Dump Salty Brine into Tank One is fine if it is a Plastic Water Tank, but Beware if it is a Stainless Steel Tank, because that can kick off micro Cracking, which can lead to Tank Failure. 🤔 Best Wishes. Bob in Wales. 👍🌟🌟🌟❤️⛵️
Plastic tanks!
@ 👍 Glad to hear it. Makes sense in an A,uminium Boat too. 🙂 Best Wishes. Bob.⛵️
Hey mate. Brown is LIVE and Blue is Neutral/(earth)
Seems to depend on the device. We’ve had some onboard that are backwards 🤔
In the future if you are cutting a connector off of a wire….. leave at least a 6” pigtail on the wire and save it. You never know what you might need in an emergency, especially with those stupid molded plugs!🤗
There's no minerals in the water that comes from water maker right
The water isn’t 0ppm but we don’t rely on drinking water for our minerals. We get it our food intake.
It’s not 3 phase wire…😂 there is no such thing as 115v 3 phase. It’s just a 2 conductor with a ground wire.
Yep def not an electrician lol
Bro, it’s ok he miss spoke, don’t hang on every word he says. Everyone is so critical of what everyone says. It will be ok, I promise.
In Europe it's called Three core Twin and earth. If it's a flexible cable then it will be multi strand and have a current rating/cross section area.
@@clivestainlesssteelwomble7665 didn’t know Europe use 110v. Thanks for updating all.
Spice rack is very homey. The wife says you are losing weight Steph.
Just seen your FB reel, unless Elon is listing his satellites in the almanac and I can get a sight off it with my sextant, it's egotistical light pollution.
