I have the first Matribox and I am still finding new tones and I haven't even gone through all the amp models and effects yet. Now I'm gonna get this one. A man my age need a hobby and since I like 80's style and modern style metal, it will be hours of fun coming up with different tones. Thanks for posting this video.
I wish things like this were available when I started playing back in the mid 80's. This sounds so much better than EVERYTHING I had until I got a JCM 800 and hit it with a rat.
Luv your honesty Kyle, 3 months away from playing; a serious detox! a rut does that to the best of us. I'll consider buying Matrix II; I think the SPARK AMP has kicked everyone to up their game with physical product modeler's. Keep Thrashing it Kyle!!!
It sounds really good and it seems like they listened and made improvements where they were needed. Kinda getting a flavor of the week feel though (not hating) with all these modelers, it's like there will be another one in a couple of weeks that is the "latest and greatest" ad infinitum. Anyone else getting option paralysis?
It's ridiculous. My solution is to find a few good tones and stick with those. I'm selling as many pedals as I can let go of. My goal is to play better and write music, and too many effects just get in the way honestly.
I feel that but I still went with the Matribox ii a couple months back, granted I was upgrading from an old zoom pedal…the most appealing features to me are the fx loop, interface, and versatility in output options. The fx themself are alright and the sound quality is great, but I somehow prefer a lot of the zoom multistomp and G3N effects tbh. The zoom looper quantizes and loops better, while the Matribox ii looper has higher quality audio it is extremely hard to loop on time. I’ve emailed Sonicake some ideas to make it better not sure if they’ll incorporate them into a firmware update or not though tbh
I have a question Kyle, what is the best half stack for someone on a budget, I don’t have the funds to drop money on a Mesa or even a peavey but would like a decent amp to jam with people or do shows locally. Let me know! Don’t stop doing your content!!
Thanks for the review Kyle! Wondering if you've ever compared all of these software modelers against each other before? Like I'm wondering how this gear compares to using something like BIAS FX2 or Amplitube5? The prices/quality of these compared to the expensive Fender, etc options? There's so many options now.
Sounds great! (Pat) Also, they retail for not much at all! Affordable enough to try, and if you only use 10% of features/functions, it's not like it's 10% of a $1,000 piece of gear! Very useful overview.
Does this SLO preset sound as good as the Soldano SLO pedal? I have the pedal and I love it but I'm thinking about going digital and getting one of these modeling units.
We are in the same exact situation! From what I’ve learned Hotone ampero is a rebranded Valeton gp200. I screwed myself somewhat by thinking the CDMC I (believe)modelling was all the same and went cheap buying the Hotone Binary amp, which sounds great with a tubescreamer clone into a cab IR loader and powered frfr speaker, it’s still not as good sounding as this or the ampero videos I have seen! So I am thinking Ampero mp100 or mp80 for the Stage and 2 series are little expensive for My taste only needing a boosted Rectifier or Engl fireball sounding sim, Ambient lead, and vox or fenderish clean. And A Looper! These look much more fun though, I keep going back to Bias fx and THU overload for applications like this and they sound superior with the tech these days. I promise You will be much happier with the Ampero 2 stomp over the Matribox 2! Or the stage if you want to spend the extra. Hope I could help a little because a lot of these modelers are the same rebranded boxes by the same companies in China and it’s a rabbit hole from hell! The new Mooer GE1000 looks incredible too but again they re micro pedals and even Free GE Labs can get You there cheaper!
@@adamstein9333I’m torn between this and the stage 2 by Ampero. I don’t mind paying the extra as long as it sounds the best and has the best features etc.
Anyone know if you have this setup in 4cm, can you still use the amp models and IR's without changing cables around, by turning off the send and return? Cool vid btw thanks!
That's on them. I keep choosing the II but it keeps generating the link for the 1. Just click the link and navigate to the II model. That's all I can do for now, unfortunately.
It truly is a masterpiece. The best storytelling in a game ever, imo. I finished it over a year ago and I still think about it, putting all of the little details together to paint the full picture. Phenomenal game.
@@belligerentamateur yeah I was one of the top metal drummers in Brooklyn throughout the 80s, we were managed by L'Amour along with white lion. So Grandpa no! You're just recycling s*** we did better

Kyle as someone who is often brütal as well thanks for educating me about high/low cuts on modelers. World of difference.
Happy to do it!
I love my Matribox II. So versatile and just plain fun to play with.
Just found your channel while looking for matribox vids. Your style matches what I’m doing so the demo was great. Thanks.
Awesome to see you back Kyle! I just ordered one off ebay for $147. This has me super excited.
I wish these lower priced units had more preset foot switches. But this one sure sounds great.
Glad to see you making vids again and hope you’re feeling better. Keep up the great work!

This thing sounds amazing especially for as cheap as you can buy these things for.
Flamma and Sonicake are the 2 best chinese pedal makers right now! Definitly worth to try any of their products👍
Getting back in that groove, Atta guy😎

Auto focus is thy enemy! Love the video, I'm old school and really want to try out one these.
Always like when you play the Coheed riff. Tones sounded great man!

Sonicake makes some good shit on the cheap. I use their delay, reverb, chorus pedal. Sounds and works great.
I've Been Recently Looking Into this Affordable Pedal Processor... Great Video Kyle. Definitely Going to Pick it Up and Dial Some Tones.
Nice! Hope you dig it!
@@belligerentamateurHi Kyle, which one do you think sounds better and which would you go for. This or the Ampero stage 2?. Thanks
I have the 1st Matribox. It's very good overall. I am pissed though that they released version 2 only 4 months later.
Hey Kyle you need to test the new Mooer GE1000!!
sick brother i luv it its cheap n chuggs awesome thank you never would have seen it always last to hear lol im that guy lol
Man I bought their EQ pedal( thanks by the way) … they’re legit!!
Your link btw points to the older smaller version. Enjoy the vids and just wanted to give you a heads up.
Sounds good man!🎸🔊🤘
You touched on the 800 model, but did you buy it with a Screamer or an SD-1? How did that sound?
Does this SLO preset sound as good as the Soldano SLO pedal? I have the pedal and I love it but I'm thinking about going digital and getting one of these modeling units.
Good job guy
I'm currently looking at the hotone ampero 2 stomp or the sonicake matribox 2
Anyone have any opinions or recommendations for me?

Fury of Five, I haven't heard that name in years.
This vs pod go???
Is the sonicake eq as good as mxrs?
My settings Eng120 amp Watts Cab with a Skeamer9 (tube screamer) and Gate on 32 my clean is just chorus used rarely lol.🤣🤣
hey thats my pedal i love it its so awesome 🤘
I will have to buy new strings and try another guitar cable because I'm getting tones that are far too different to the ones presented in this video.
I'm getting one lol

Thanks for checking.
FX section logo looks like Biass FX logo i guess
20:41 How have I got this far in life without knowing / thinking of Rectum-Fryer? It's all been worthless..
Looks and sounds good. You need to turn AF off your close up product shots though ;-)
Just a simple slip up.

I disagree. It's a very good game, but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever.
It says the sonicake's whole name...
...or it gets the hose again.
Sounded brootal
Their customer service is non existent. Contacted them multiple times and they ever respond

Hahaha i was first but did not write
I wish someone would do a review without those moronic, horrible distortion sounds
