Good Morning.
I agree with April. The first version is the best
👍
You missed the red mustang 5.0 GT convertible in the first one, also big foot, the truck was in it as well
I love the 560SEC in the original.
“The most polished table on RUclips!”
Except for the cat hair 🐈
Can't beat the original !
89 hands down. Its one of the greatest "bad" movies of all time. Guilty pleasure.
Tyler NEEDS to grow a mullet! April has spoken. As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
I agree with April. The new movie was just a hollow remake. Name one memorable line from the new movie. I loved the lines in the original one. Especially Sam Elliot's I'll sleep when I'm dead.. The new roadhouse didn't look like a dive bar, but more like a resort. That detracted from the movie as well.
One of the best movie lines ever!
Hard to believe Sam was only 44!
My favorite RUclips channel!
The remake makes it look like the original should have won an Oscar.
The car Dalton drove in the new one was a 75 thru 77 Chevrolet Nova.
In the original the Roadhouse was called The Double Deuce!
Double Douche!
Yeah, if you look at the shopping center where the book store was. There was a restaurant called the Double Deuce.
Please keep in mind that only the opening scenes of the 7 mile bridge and Fred The tree are the only things actually filmed in the Florida Keys. The Florida Keys is nothing like they portrayed.😊
I know. A friend of mine who lives in the Keys said it was an insult as well.
The new Road-House would have been good if McGregor was no where near it. Worst part is they call it a remake and it’s NOT!
Not much into clowns?
If I paid for this in a theater I'd have gone Dalton on the popcorn kid for allowing me to pay for a ticket to this wreck
The 1989 movie wins hands down! There is so much more to this movie than the fighting and I can't believe you didn't mention the monster truck introduction and the premonition of station wagons being crushed! What about Jeff Healey? Maybe it was my naivete when I watched the 1989 movie but the themes of good vs. evil, rowdy fun times, a glimpse into romance, flirting and hot sex, and a seemingly unsurmountable villain and an unlikely hero struck me as genuine. There is none of that heart and soul in the new version although I do love the look, actors, and performances of the new one, it just did not connect with me the way the old one did.
April is sooooo right, old Road House with Dalton is the best! They should have called the new one something different.
I am going with 89, I was 9 then. I will take your take on the 2nd one. Good Morning!
The first movie was the best. You couldn’t beat Patrick Swazy owned the role.
The takeaway from this is Hoovie needs a 560SEC. Time to right a wrong lol.
And a mullet
Should of called the new one boat house!
Wasn’t Gyllenhaal’s car a ‘78 Chevy Nova 4dr?
yes..how Tyler didn't get that is crazy
Yep, don’t know how they missed that!
That’s what it looked like to me.
I thought that looked like a mid to late 70s nova
A mid-late 70's Nova would have an emission air pump hanging off the engine, probably only pumping out about 145hp.
The new one sounds crap. In the original one you had Jeff Healey singing, always a good thing. I once sang with him in a Pub while he was at the World Music Awards, Monaco.
Honestly, going to the movies alone is the best thing ever. He's not lying.
Interesting thing about the original Road House: The guy who played bad-guy "Jimmy Reno" is Marshall Teague who later went on to play a Narn named "Ta'Lon" in Babylon 5. That is probably one of the best characters to come out of B5, partly because he was blessed with a lot of amazing dialogue which had been performed perfectly by Teague.
A Hoovie mullet is a Merc Benz up front and a Ram 2500 in the back loll - and fer sure Jake's car is in the New RH is a 70's - 80's Chevy Nova, I had one and you can definitely sleep on the bench seats in the front or back of that tank haha
I think we would all "mullet" up for April Rose.
I came here to say exactly that! 👍🏻
The director softened his stance a bit, and ended up not boycotting the release.
Casey Neistat had a video with him talking about it
I agree with April! The first one.
Patrick Swayzie,Tom Elliott. Two I conic actor's!
I did not enjoy Roadhouse 2024 but because I adored the Original Roadhouse I signed up with Amazon to see the movie. I found the Original Roadhouse to be so superior!!
I'm with April the original was best ❤️ funny story we lived near Kevin Thye who was the bartender/owner in the 89 version and I had no idea he was an actor until I saw him in Roadhouse when I saw it in my late teens he's a really nice guy and my grandparents were friends with him for many years.
Mullet > Business in the front and party in the back LOL LOL
I agree with April, The Original was best
89 is definitely the better move. Frankly, the 89 version stands up to many movies. One of the things that made the 89 version better, is how many women I know like it. Unusual for a "fight flick". I liked the new one but treated it as a completely different movie and storyline. It was free, so I don't feel cheated. ~ Chuck. PS - I have to give another shout out to Jake - your work is great, hilarious, and spot on!!!
The original is superior in many ways. The most glaring thing is that the new one's real "big bad," Ben's imprisoned father, is still a threat and the bookstore family is now a target by possessing that giant case of (presumably cartel) cash. In the original, the town elders (Tilghman, Red, Emmet, and the Ford dealership owner) finally stood up for themselves and solved the problem with 12 gauge solutions.
The only hilarious part of the reboot was Connor being written as someone who doesn't understand how the brakes on a car work, he crashed every car he was in, to stop it.
There’s no substitute for the original
The “dalton” car is a chevy nova. Only ran that body for a yr or too in the 70’s if Im not mistaken
And by the way guys the first car Jake was driving in the new roadhouse movie was a late 70s 4 door chevy nova probably like 1975 or 1976
Kelly Lynch, rrrrrrrrrrrrr 😍 :D
100% both good one is classic.
New one is just bad azz
The remake is indicative of our current society in that it is like a cartoon version of the original. In the original the characters were just regular guys that had fighting skills so they were relatable to the average Joe and made the story more believable. The remake has over the top, ripped guys that don't look like most people. The acting is so over the top as well to the point of being ridiculous. But that is the world we live in now. Everything has to be extreme. The remake is just another Marvel super hero movie but set in a bar.
I don’t kind of disagree.. first of they are completely different films, apart of the name and a generalisation of the story there is nothing between them.
But the new one is a fun film if you do not take tot seriously.
My biggest problem is that they didn’t allow the good guy to win over the bad guy.
McGregor was stupidly over the top, it if had loose in the final fight it would had play so much better.
Also if they were making it as sequel type - same universe or something film with one or two references to the original and nothing else would have one much more people instead of trying to replace it.
And unfortunately most films are so politically correct these days that films that are minimising the political correctness just to how you call your cover is fresh air. Attractive females, masculine males, it’s nice to not need to watch 30 year old film to find something i can relate myself and the world around me
Great stuff guys 👍
Lesson. Don't commit a crime in Florida and run from the Law into a swamp or you may be eaten by an alligator. As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
There is a ferrari HOOVIE, Jake's car was a 76 nova 4 door, go watch the making, neat way they filmed fight scenes. Old one is ok, new one I watched 5x.
I liked it. I actually watch tv to go to bed a lot and I usually fall asleep during movies all the time. I actually stayed awake and enjoyed it a lot. No it’s not the original but I really liked it
Original road house awesome ! The car in the new one is a 77 nova by chevy
Been a fan of the original since the 80's, and it's clearly better, but I liked the new one a lot more than I expected to. Found it quite entertaining. Biggest disappointment was definitely no Mercedes.
I liked the new Roadhouse. Old one I remember (vaguely) being pretty good as well.
At age 79 (b. 1945), I STILL look younger than Sam did in that movie.
Last time I saw Roadhouse it was in Singapore. The massive edits for inappropriate scenes destroyed it.
If they released in the theater…it would’ve tanked. I would not have watched it other than it was included in Prime Video. But I enjoyed it…good silly popcorn movie. The car he was driving was a mid 70’s Chevy Nova (4-dr). I had a 1976 Chevy Nova (2-dr) in my teens and recognized some of the body lines/tail lights/etc. PS: Alligator in Florida. Crocodile in Africa. :)
It’s crazy how people are like the “new one is good..” no it wasn’t it was a caricature of the first one and made the first one look like a Martin Scorsese movie.
You haven’t spent too much time in South Florida. I grew up here, very possible.
Sam Elliott??? come on man! no joke!
Jake and Collin totally on the sauce.
They're both just okay at best. I like Patrick and I like Jake.
The new Road House was originally filmed in IMAX for a theatrical run which is why the fight scenes in the new one looked a little exaggerated. Doug Liman is EXTREMELY upset Amazon did him dirty and wouldn’t put it in theaters.
I can't stand going to movie theatres anymore - literally went to see Dune 2 over Easter weekend because I'm a huge fan of both the books and the first film - as is so often the case the experience was ruined by some young girls who played on their phones the whole way through the film and wandered around the theatre using their phones as torches doing god knows what. It was a great film, but they were so damn irritating now I'm going to have to wait for it on streaming so I can re-watch it at home and enjoy it properly. I used to love it 20 years ago when people were usually pretty polite and considerate of other theatre goers.
TBH, I watched both back to back, and I enjoyed both. Although the "remake" lacked the grittiness of the original.
I tried to watch the Red Dawn remake, and couldn't. I imagine that I probably wouldn't be able to watch a remake of Road House either.
The Critical Drinker called the new Roadhouse one of the worst movies ever made.
Watched it sat night at my brothers thought it sucked, all it was was nonstop fighting ..the original blows this movie away.
Need to have a Roadhouse in Hoovies Barn!!!😂😂😂😂
You can’t name me a remake that was worth making.
True Grit was pretty damn good
Ben Gazzara was off the charts hilarious as Brad Wesley (bad guy) in the original.
Nelix is back 😊
Hoovie learns more everyday what April likes...😀
There is another Road House with Victor Mature & Ida Lupino dated 1948....
Florida Man has disadvantages when being chased by the law.
In the OG Roadhouse, when the monster truck drove through the showroom over the "brand new" Fords in the showroom, those cars were not new, they were several model years old at the time.
The original Road House is definitely a B movie. But… it’s one of my guilty pleasure. I watch it at least twice a, every year.
Gyllenhaal, it looked like a 74 Nova from the silhouette
So, apparently there already was a Roadhouse sequel, which came out in 2005. This one takes place in the bioux, but has almost an identical plot. Albeit the main character is Dalton’s son, who also happens to be a DEA agent. It’s pretty bad, but it’s still better than the Amazon version.
April's right nothing beats the original and Jake never struck me as being remotely the ass kicking type AT ALL!!
Tyler's about to go the way of Cleetus and grow out his mullet again...
I liked the mountainous scenes in the original and yet there's no mountains in Kansas City.
I feel like Peter Griffin is being overlooked with his take on Roadhouse.
I am not lying my girlfriend and I literally just did the exact same thing with these movies!!
The cat is going to scratch Hoovie for removing him....
Tyler, get a Swayze wig, wear it for April on vacation. Trust me.
the Original is the is the Best!! 👍👍
They were both just fun movies, gratuitous violence, lots of action. The new one is way more over the top, Conor McGregor was a great villain, the frosting on the cheese cake. Hope to see him again.
Sounds like someone has never had to go to a movie by themselves, I can understand why. :)
1975-76 NOVA 4 DOOR
I have a 12-year-old pia neighbor kid that has a mullet. I give the little sh*t a hard time about it every time I see him. I agree with April on this.
Hoovie, share the TV Series, Chuck with her!
Jake's car looks a whole lot like a '75 Nova 4 door
Came to say this. Mid 70’s Nova.
15:54 Agreed. If you’re going to change it that much, it’s a different movie.
April really struggled to find negatives about the new one and seemed only hell bent on not liking it... just because.
Tyler Hooters
Maybe Tyler's Hoovers, his new roadhouse in Wichita.
Oh, the music was good though, better than the first movie.
Sam Elliots' look made me think of Wilfred Brimley when he shot Cocoon. He was -- fifty.
OG Roadhouse is a classic. The WT girls watching like those butt shots I'm sure.
"Any of these mouthy fools can get it!"
April is such a dude, totally agree with her. Original Roadhouse was so good.. the new one is awful on so many levels.
Hoovie, you forgot about the Buick Rivieras in the original movie. I would have wanted one of those more than the Mercedes.
The unidentified car in the old one looked like a late 70s Nova.
One thing I would want to point out in the original Road House every time I hear about the age of the actors: You do understand the characters can be a different age than the actor, so Sam Elliot could have been playing someone in their 60s, regardless of how old he was
I don't think you can't make a remake of a movie as good as the original.
Looks like a 75-77 4 door nova
April is my new hero sorry Tyler but the new one was horrendous. I would as soon watch the Twilight series while getting a root canal than set through it again.
