Great video - I bought one secondhand from eBay with no manual. The spray bottle was missing the microfibre too. You helped enormously - I didn't bother with the spray bottle, just a microfibre pad and some washing up liquid. Brought my porch windows up a treat!
Agree about the liquid. We used the same cleaning bar you've got as you can get a decent amount of solution on the window - important if the window is being subjected to bright sunshine. We used warm water with a squirt of Fairy (liquid NOT dust !!). Didn't like the little spray bottle and won't bother with it. Does smell nice though. The unit has only been used once and we've seen a dramatic improvement in our windows and truly, no streaks. Thanks for doing the video, much appreciated.
The kit contains a white flexible washer that is inserted between the nozzle head and the detergent container; when inserted in place the unit does not leak at all, regardless of the angle used to wash windows. My unit also leaked when the washer wasn’t in place.
Hi Tony thanks for watching and commenting but the washer is in place but it still leaks but as I said on the video I might just have been unlucky and had a defective one a friend of mine has just brought one so I will get some feedback of him once he gets round to using it
@@austinsmith2724 that might work but it will be a pain every time you fill the bottle you might need to re tape it and to be brutally honest you shouldn't have to
I personally would not use it on leaded windows as you could lift the lead from the window as you blade down I just clean and buff up leaded windows and I use Wilko blue glass cleaning Cloths £3 each do an epic job buffing out any smears
Hi Colin I use unger and Moerman mops the T bar handle is standard you get them in various sizes. If you check out Ebay and Amazon also window cleaning warehouse sell these and I think screwfix and tool station do as well
This video is useful @Old School Window cleaner because the instructions are minimal. I've used it twice and both times I'm left not with clear glass, but with streaks in line with the serrations on the main blade. The secondary unit does indeed leak and the cleaner is tough to use if we have to wash side-on or outside from in. All in all, it hasn't so far justified 40 minutes of queueing outside Homebase plus the £49.99 it cost. I'll persevere with your guidance.
I've just got one of these, however the head attachments wont connect onto the karcher unit. Any suggestions? They don't click on so just fall off when using them. Could it just be that I've typically been sent a faulty one? Or is there a specific way to put them on?! Thanks!!
Thanks for review! Very helpful. Does the clean result in a streak free window. And most importantly, does is save loads of time, I mean, compared to the old school way of using kitchen towel/microfibre + Windolene, etc? Thank you.
Hi thanks for watching and commenting we only use it for indoors and it leaves the windows streak free I would not say its quicker than if I was to use a mop and squeegee but its definitely less messy we find it great for inside Conservatory roofs.
@@completeexteriorcleaningse750 Thanks for the advice. I have a toddler who likes to hang around at mirrors and smudges the windows all over whenever he's shown the view.. LOL! Hi Ricky yeah you can use this for inside and out shower cubicles tiles floor tiles sucking up spills on your kitchen work tops its a very versatile piece of kit. Thanks for watching and commenting
Hi Aaron a few people have said that but these are not that cheap and you shouldn't have to thers a white rubber seal inside and every time you open the bottle to re fill it your PTFE tape will be disturbed and you will need to re apply it.
