Georgie is pretty amazing. He just rolls with everything. We could all stand to be more like Georgie. I'd rather be a happy idiot with a family like him, than have ASD and be on my own for life.

One must realize Sheldon is only 9 years old at the time. Mary is trying to protect him from experiences beyond his years and ability.

@@felicitymorris5548 I don't see that point of view at all. Maybe she adheres to a rigid religious doctrine but that doesn't make her selfish. Actually I perceive the Mary character of someone who is shouldering the bulk of the family responsibilities. George tries to do somethings involving the kids but Mary often has to point him in the right direction. The writer's have made it clear George is not really happy in his marriage.
@@annettepora8091 she always makes everything about herself and pretend she's hard done by, but she is responsible for the life she has, she chose to have a child with George and she chose to marry him, she chooses to stay in an unhappy marriage and she chooses to make everyone feel bad because she's too self-righteous to do the right thing for everyone and just get a divorce, let everyone have their own lives and stop being so controlling.

no but my Boomer parent's crockware is identical to the ones seen at 1:42 - the brown mixing bowl with the white designs my mom bought in the 70s, and the white casserole dish with the blue pattern I inherited from my grandmother when she moved into her retirement home. whenever there's a dinner table scene I get massive nostalgia for that midcentury Pyrex 😂
if you ask me, sheldon is better with his family. He's still a child to think of a good future and there's plenty of time to think about it while being a child only happen once.

Why's it make your mom happy?
I love this show, but the creators clearly do not understand the size of my glorious state. One simply does not pop into Dallas from Southeast Texas -- where the Coopers are supposed to live -- then drive back home and also have time and energy to make dinner. For instance, we're talking about a NINE-HOUR ROUNDTRIP DRIVE from Beaumont, which Sheldon mentions on BBT. Then for George to make ANOTHER trip into Dallas the same day would mean he drove, of course, 18 hours. Not gonna happen. (Also, FYI, the background in the openings depict West Texas, which is extremely insulting to those of us who live on the FORESTED side of Texas. No scenery in East Texas looks like that. We have beautiful wooded, rolling hills.) But I still enjoy the show. 🙂 Fun characters.
I feel sorry for Georgie & Missy, they treat them terrible, they're a good example for CHILD ABUSE !!

I have watched some episodes of big bang theory and young sheldon is way better than that. It's actually funny and all the characters are loveable

with the way she is behaving brattily and how she caused an issue within the family too. But apart from that all the characters are relatable and it's not all jokes about science. We have plots like Meemaw and her love life, Pastor Jeff and his family, Mary and her church thing, Georgie and his adventures lol. Like it's not all about science or the same group in TBBT if you know what I mean. Plus all the characters are given growth consistently even Sheldon who shows heartwarming moments here and then especially with Jim Parson's narration. So I like young sheldon more because of this. And it's basically like a happier version of TBBT knowing Sheldon is reflecting on his life so yeah YS is the winner here for me
