I want to see a young guy put his shoulder in the chest of a vet that's just screwing around. The NBA regular season and the all Star need a competitive reset, half the games feel like shootarounds these days
Unfortunately 😕 I don’t know why they appear to be so unwilling to make it an American vs international game. It’s literally the only thing that could possibly salvage this event.
You are absolutely correct. Including the rising stars is absolutely horrid. Wemby is probably gonna be on a rising stars team as well as an allstar, so how will that work?? 4 teams of allstars would be much better, with 6 or even 7 guys for each team. But if NBA really wants to fix the allstar game, then they need to make the conference that wins the game is the conference that is awarded homecourt in the finals. This is the only solution that makes players and coaches on both teams go 100% in trying to win the game.
@ If thats your “plan”, its never gonna work. We’ve seen it for over a decade now that the players arent gonna try just because they are told to. And now we are seeing from the IST that if you put REAL stakes on something then the players will care. So… lets put real stakes on the outcome of the allstar game.
@ Any team has a good chance to win any game, it’s the NBA. You take the 12 best players from both conferences, it’s gonna be a great competitive game no matter what
everybody complaining again. Be happy they try something new. Seeing if it works out is going to be more entertaining than watching a regular All Star game again.
I’m not always quick to blame players, but I sympathize with the league on this one. Players compete in the Olympics, practices, even off season runs. Yet being honored with being an all star no longer motivates them to play hard. What the hell happened?
The NFL finally shot the lame horse that was their ASG. Time to do the same in NBA. Still have all stars selections and weekend except no more lame 🏀 game. You can still do like NFL, have the skills events, celeb game, rookie game, the parties, maybe do a 3v3 tournament. To replace the ASG itself, you start the Cup games later and you have the final game at All Star weekend. You finally have a competitive game.
It should be 4 teams of 8 players each when there are 32 teams. The only reason there are 24 All-Star spots is because there were 24 teams in the league.
answered your own question, can't lose to the rising stars so you have to play hard. They should make it a one on one tournament with first rounds byes for the top 8.
I would LOVE a situation where the Rising Stars won a game vs the normal All Stars though. Could you imagine the blow back on the losing team? If we get that it's worth it.
I’m not saying the league shouldn’t experiment, but I find it funny and kinda pathetic that the most simplest solution to this is for the all-stars to just take it serious and compete, like a lot of fans young and old have wanted and how some of us expected per tradition.
Yeah what are they gonna do, sit all the players down and say “Play hard guys! If you don’t, we’ll fine you!” That’s not gonna work 😂😂 That’s why they’re trying the new formats, to make it more competitive.
@RHhhh1008 That’s not what I said tho about fining them or whatever 🤣 and I already said that “I’m not saying the league shouldn’t experiment” but the most obvious and simplest thing to help make it better is just the players trying. Practically just retyped my comment bruh 😭😭
@@Spider-Complexion Yeah, that's exactly what they're trying to do - create a new format that's more competitive so players start trying. You think telling them to "Start trying" will help? If it was that easy it would've been done by now 😂 Obviously the solution is for them to take it more serious, that's why they're trying to create a new format. You're definitely really young if you can't understand this
@ Bruh what are you debating about or maybe you’re misreading my comment? Like how do some of y’all on here get going about anything🤣 Bcuz all that is understood from me. Is it not simple and most obvious for the all stars to just try and take pride in the game to help it, like they’ve done before it was problem? Yes! That’s all I’m saying and that it’s kinda sad. Not that it would’ve been done by now, that the league isn’t doing anything, or that the league shouldn’t try something new, like what are you one about there and how did you get to that point 🤣😭
@@Spider-Complexion Buddy, I read everything in your comment. Did players in the past take the all-star game more seriously? Yes, no doubt. Do players today take it seriously? No, not at all. Times are different, players don't see the all-star game as an opportunity to prove themselves anymore, instead, they see it as purely entertainment based and don't want to risk injury by playing hard in a game that means nothing. Even if a guy put up 100 points in an all-star game no one would care because again, the game means nothing. Clearly, the format is dated and players won't take it seriously until something changes. What you're saying sounds good in theory but in practice is stupid, it's very difficult to change someone's mind without an incentive. If the game means nothing, why the hell would they play hard and risk injury? Yes, I agree they should have more pride and perform for the fans but again it's hard to do so when the nature of the all-star game is so casual. That's why we need something new. I hope that's clear! 😃
Still won't get me to watch the ASG. What a joke. All the gimmicky garbage, play in tournament last year, now this nonsense. Just cut the games back to 62, make it a more scarce product. NBA is dying, and I'm saying this as a once loyal NBA hoop head.
just abandon the all star game altogether for the foreseeable future. how many reiterations do we have to go through? it doesn't work anymore, players don't give a shit and will not give a shit (except for the part where they get selected because they get extra money on their fully loaded super max contract). dunking contest is also bleeding for a while since they can't attract the most exciting guys. the whole all-star weekend devalued to the point where no one really looks forward to it anymore. maybe having the whole thing once in every 3-4 years is the actual solution to this? like a basketball equivalent to Woodstock, every generations has a one go.
Just get rid of it. Get rid kf the entire weekend. Name allstars congratulate them. Give em 4 days off n get back to basketball. All Star game has ran its course. It was made forbthe purpose of showing fans superteams, we've seen superteams last 15 years.
Same, the target scores are so low that you can’t just let dudes score, and if you do you run the risk of getting benched in an all star game which is embarrassing af. In the finals if you just let someone shoot a 3 and it goes in, that’s 12% of the target score! That’s a significant swing in the game, and it’ll be embarrassing! Ant did t give af about the all star game last year. In this format, I have a hard time imagining that Ant just wouldn’t try. He has too much of an ego, to much pride in his game to just get ran out of the building by a guy like Trae Young lmao
Yeah… so they’re trying to make a more competitive format to bring out the effort. You think you can just tell the players, “Guys, please try more this year!😀” and it’s gone work? Please 😂😂 Everybody online thinks they know everything
Yeah, wow, he sucks so much for trying something new… When nobody tries in the all star game you’ll say he sucks, try something new to revive it, he sucks. Everybody loves to complain it seems. Let them try, maybe it’ll be successful, maybe it’ll fail, who knows. Stop being a loser
Boring idea. You want the whole world to watch the All Star Game…simple! USA Vs Best International Team from nba. You sure as hell know the international players will take it seriously…and force the USA team to have a crack
I appreciate their willingness to innovate at the very least. Young guys squad could bring a chip on their shoulder.
Or they'll assimilate to the Stars pace. The league is business #1 and they don't want to step on toes and make them look bad
I want to see a young guy put his shoulder in the chest of a vet that's just screwing around.
The NBA regular season and the all Star need a competitive reset, half the games feel like shootarounds these days
It won’t matter cause they still won’t play hard or care in the all star game
Unfortunately 😕 I don’t know why they appear to be so unwilling to make it an American vs international game. It’s literally the only thing that could possibly salvage this event.
@Riles3152 probably because the international team would win easily and make the Americans look bad

All star game should be replaced by NBA cup final and then have all star selection team for recognition

Why will rising stars try hard tho? They don’t want to piss off the veterans. Respecting your elders is what you do in nba culture.
@@deepvoicedude4749to prove they’re better. I think a lot of young guys have egos and would compete
