Amazing work flow, it must have taken you a multiple passes thru to make it so large and integrated. I'm designing my digital scheduling and task tracking system now and your video has been a massive help to me. Thank you.
Great content. I'm in my first year of business but have had trouble onboarding new hires. Still a one man show. I'm really thinking that next Spring I take 2 weeks off and have some new hires go through a 2 week hands on training with me. What would you do? I've tried having them shadow me while I work but it hasn't worked out and I just end up letting them go. Thank you.
I think that first hire is one of the hardest and most important. Be picky but also be prepared to sell them on your vision. Good people have options.. you need to be there best option. As you grow you can hire people that work best under a system with full direction. Early on you need people who care about quality and operate more autonomously. You have to give them more control.
If they have a good attitude, the willingness to learn, and an eye for detail they can be taught anything and everything. But if they are not willing to put in the effort to learn and develop themselves they will drag you down rather than support. There are people who have experience and drive, and those are the ones to partner with. It can be difficult to find the right person, but once you do make sure that you are offering at least equal value that they provide.
