I cannot BELIEVE you did that lettering all by hand, incredible attention to detail. And the ICING, oh my gosh. This is the first I'm seeing of your work, and it's gorgeous. Honestly something to aspire to!
This is so helpful!! I've wondered about the baking process for a while, so your tips are so useful if I ever decide to pick up yet another new hobby 😂
That depends on your preference but I recommend DSA because it’s an even height all around which makes it a nice base. Other profiles have sloping tops or each row on the keyboard is a different height. But whatever profile you get, just make sure it’s made from real PBT material.
LOVE IT!!!🤗🤪🥰 So excited that ur gona do more even!! Thx for all the tips!! I need to find ur friend on IG💕 Do u think making the actual keycap out of clay too is possible?🤔 I'd rly like to break out my clay stuff for lots of projects and these are WAY at the top of my list!!!
None of my stuff has turned yellow or worn off and I have a clay hair barrette coated with the same thing (made by another artist) and it looks the same as ever. I think as long as you keep it away from direct sunlight for long Periods of time, it should be fine.
HELP KEYCAP MAKING EXPERTS: when using UV resin, do you just put in on and bake or are there specific steps to set the resin before baking… thank you to anyone who answers, much appreciated :)
Uv resin requires a uv lamp to set/cure and should be done after baking. I mean… You CAN bake with cured uv resin for short times but it’s not recommended and should be done with caution! Hope that helps!

This is incredibly helpful!! My last clay artisan keycap disintegrated in the oven 😅, so hopefully my next try works out better 😆

tomatoda is underrated
😭
Thanks for the video!!! This is an awesome guide for a newbie like me c:
god blessss these are amazing tips
Damn that’s cute!
thank you!!! ^^
Hi. Love the idea just to say maybe liquid clay brushed onto the key cap before laying the clay on. Just use an old brush to smooth it first. :)
yep! Thats what I did in the video xD
@@Tomatoda I thought it should help with any bubbles. Other than that polymer clay can be a fickle beastie lol. :D
@@gabrielstone8548 ahhhh u meant on the bare cap! I’ll definitely try it out next time! Thanks for the tip!!!!
@@Tomatoda No worries. I hope it helps to fuse it a little more with no cracks or bubbly bits. :)
@@gabrielstone8548 I just ordered more caps yesterday cuz I like to torture myself xD So I'll let u know how it goes when I get them!
Hi! Are these xda profile keycaps?💕
Hi! Completely new and trying to start making some of my own here. But what are the keycap profiles that I should get?
That depends on your preference but I recommend DSA because it’s an even height all around which makes it a nice base. Other profiles have sloping tops or each row on the keyboard is a different height. But whatever profile you get, just make sure it’s made from real PBT material.

hmmm think it would be possible, but probably pretty difficult 😭
Hahaha we ONLY do difficult stuff! 😅😂
I love it!
Do you have a site you recommend buying key caps from that aren't in a set.
Ahhh unfortunately no. I buy mine in a set from Amazon 😢
@@Tomatoda can u give me the keycaps link?
I know this video is a year old but can I ask if the Decoart duraclear ultra matter varnish turn yellow overtime? Or even wear off?

do you use glue or something else to make the details stick to the clay? i’m going to try out clay soon! 😄💓
Liquid clay!
