FAQ:
🍅 If I make something from your tutorial/video, can I sell it?
- Of course! As long as no one is harmed.
🍅Why do you curse?
-Why not?
🍅 Can you make a tutorial on how to do so and so?
- Maybe…. Although I can’t take everyone’s requests, I will do a few if it seems necessary. There’s already a lot of tutorials out there by other talented crafters, so if someone has already done an amazing job covering the subject, I don’t see a need for me to make one myself. Unless, I really really really wanted to for some reason xD

I cannot BELIEVE you did that lettering all by hand, incredible attention to detail. And the ICING, oh my gosh. This is the first I'm seeing of your work, and it's gorgeous. Honestly something to aspire to!
Thank u so much!!!!!
This is so helpful!! I've wondered about the baking process for a while, so your tips are so useful if I ever decide to pick up yet another new hobby 😂
hahahah another new hobby on top of the million other ones right? xD I feel ya
Your key cap videos are so amazingggg I’m so excited to see more ! 😩🥳

5 minute intervals, that's smart. Ima use that technique

I love it!
This is incredibly helpful!! My last clay artisan keycap disintegrated in the oven 😅, so hopefully my next try works out better 😆
Oh no 😭 all that hard work! good luck!

tomatoda is underrated
😭
LOVE IT!!!🤗🤪🥰 So excited that ur gona do more even!! Thx for all the tips!! I need to find ur friend on IG💕 Do u think making the actual keycap out of clay too is possible?🤔 I'd rly like to break out my clay stuff for lots of projects and these are WAY at the top of my list!!!
hmmm think it would be possible, but probably pretty difficult 😭
Hahaha we ONLY do difficult stuff! 😅😂
Hi! Are these xda profile keycaps?💕
Hi. Love the idea just to say maybe liquid clay brushed onto the key cap before laying the clay on. Just use an old brush to smooth it first. :)
yep! Thats what I did in the video xD
@@Tomatoda I thought it should help with any bubbles. Other than that polymer clay can be a fickle beastie lol. :D
@@gabrielstone8548 ahhhh u meant on the bare cap! I’ll definitely try it out next time! Thanks for the tip!!!!
@@Tomatoda No worries. I hope it helps to fuse it a little more with no cracks or bubbly bits. :)
@@gabrielstone8548 I just ordered more caps yesterday cuz I like to torture myself xD So I'll let u know how it goes when I get them!
Hi! Completely new and trying to start making some of my own here. But what are the keycap profiles that I should get?
That depends on your preference but I recommend DSA because it’s an even height all around which makes it a nice base. Other profiles have sloping tops or each row on the keyboard is a different height. But whatever profile you get, just make sure it’s made from real PBT material.
do you use glue or something else to make the details stick to the clay? i’m going to try out clay soon! 😄💓
Liquid clay!
How well does the matte varnish hold up to wear and tear for keycaps?
I haven’t tested these keycaps extensively cuz I ended up giving them away to a friend. But I have some handmade charms and hair pins (that I wear) coated in the same varnish and it holds up perfectly till this day. Sorry I can’t give you a more accurate update
I know this video is a year old but can I ask if the Decoart duraclear ultra matter varnish turn yellow overtime? Or even wear off?
None of my stuff has turned yellow or worn off and I have a clay hair barrette coated with the same thing (made by another artist) and it looks the same as ever. I think as long as you keep it away from direct sunlight for long Periods of time, it should be fine.
Do you have a site you recommend buying key caps from that aren't in a set.
Ahhh unfortunately no. I buy mine in a set from Amazon 😢
@@Tomatoda can u give me the keycaps link?
HELP KEYCAP MAKING EXPERTS: when using UV resin, do you just put in on and bake or are there specific steps to set the resin before baking… thank you to anyone who answers, much appreciated :)
Uv resin requires a uv lamp to set/cure and should be done after baking. I mean… You CAN bake with cured uv resin for short times but it’s not recommended and should be done with caution! Hope that helps!
@@Tomatoda Thank you!!
I fuckin' love you.
Will you ever sell your keycaps??
Not these 😭 sorry! I gave them away…. But I’m working on Pokémon key caps. Those will be for sale when completed
