From the D&D community: if you don't have the helping hand tool or have no means to buy one yourself, grab yourself some sticky tack/blue tack, stick it onto the stem, put that whole thing on a wine cork or other small thing you can hold onto. Enjoy!
Thanks, Tiny, I didn't know if it was safe to chuck the whole PBT keycap into the oven with the rest of the clay.

A few moths back I tried to do this clay method but I didn’t do much research and I did it with ABS plastic in the oven the warped a bit but it was a great experience because it led to me learn so much more about key caps

Whats the difference between Sculpey Primo and Primo Accents? Also is FIMO Professional good for keycaps (baking too)
Is your clay the same as normal everyday clay you can buy in artisan stores?

i'd love to make custom keycaps but i dont actually know what my keycaps are made of. I've tried searching it but i dont think i found anything helpful. Does anyone know what keycaps the "g512 carbon" keyboard has?
Thank you so much for saying how long and how high you bake the keycaps at. I'm struggling with mine, and they're pbt. I've baked them at 275 and they still warp. They don't melt, but they warp, and idk how to fix that. I put them in the oven at 275 for 15 minutes. Does anyone have advice??

this may be a dumb question but, can air fryer be used to "bake" the keycaps?
Not a dumb question! So air fryers are convection ovens (I think) and that's what I use! So theoretically it should work. However, I think you may have to use some sort of way to protect the clay from being heated directly (i.e. wrap the clay/keycaps in aluminum foil) because my convection oven burns the clay if there's not another layer between the heat and the clay!

Hi! I really wanted a transparent keycap so that I can custom my own keycap. the thing is I can't find a transparent PBT keycap. the ones I found locally was a Transparent ABS keycap. I think I'll stick with Air dry clay. Will it stick normally to the keycap or should I put some glue if I'm going to make one to make it stick?

hi how can i prevent the keycap from melting its stem on the bottom ??
Like I mentioned in the video, if the keycap is fully made of PBT, it shouldn't melt at the temperature of baking clay. So the cap you're using is either not PBT (fully) or you're baking at too high of temperature.
