Good stuff Justin, but people have to also know that they can do all this and more and their videos may still go nowhere. If you’re a small or new creator reading this, don‘t forget to keep your passion alive because that passion might be the only thing keeping you going when the audience just isn’t there for your channel.
I am a brand new Justin Brown devotee!! Just over 24 hours to be exact .... but you have already made a MASSIVE difference in what I am trying to do!! You have saved my sanity!!
Thanku so much justin.. Especially for this particular video... Because it kind of normalises you as a creator in my eyes... Now it seems that starting will be kind of rough nd that's fine.. Things can be finished nd smoothened gradually 🙂
So fun to see Pro Home Cooks! I’ve been binging that content for so long! This is great content as I am learning so I can create some useful content for sharing too! Thank you!
Great advice as always! We realize it's a process, not a race and we are in it for the long haul. Just about to hit our first milestone, 100 subscribers, which seemed so impossible when we started so I think when that happens it will be a nice reminder that outting the work in eventually pays off!
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” ― Lao Tzu To be accomplished in whatever we want to excel in takes time & studied growth. Thanks for this generous insight.👍
This video is really well laid out and easy to follow and take notes. I was already a subscriber, but even more appreciative of your content. Thanks again!
Thanks Justin, I appreciated this video, especially the history of your channel. I have an odd question for you? I have a camping channel where I record my adventures. I use natural sound and I also talk on camera in the videos. Do you think I could start a second channel, an ASMR channel, where I take that same content and re-edit it as a new video where I don't talk on camera but I only use natural sound in that video. My clips would be longer and the video would be longer. I'm not sure if that is against the RUclips rules, if it's reused content? Thanks.
Great insights, thanks. I'm working on my 4tth video now and these are things I've seen before on other how-to videos (including yours :) But your explanation reinforces them really well and sheds new light on them. I'll start especially working more on my thumbnails, as outsourcing editing isn't feasible for me right now and I want to understand it better by doing it until I can outsource it. Thanks!
These tips are very helpful, thank you! I agree with your point of outsourcing video editing as it saves a lot of time, but in the initial stages it's one of the basic things everyone should learn. Outsourcing will definitely improve the quality of the video, but its also important to learn and this will improve one's creativity. What are your thoughts on this?
While it can be helpful to know the skills yourself, I really don’t think it’s required. I could learn to use woodworking tools.. or if it’s of no interest to me at all, I could get someone else to do that work that specialises in that specifically.
Great video! I'm serious about my YT channel. I IMMEDIATELY joined PVA with Justin for the year. The program info is phenomenal. But the best is Justin on our zoom calls because he will answer your questions to the finest details. A passionate man! I'm always so stoked to hear him! 😍😘😘
Justin, I'm a newer RUclipsr, thank you for suggesting outsourcing editing. I think it's been my biggest hold up so far!! Also, I've been asking for subscribers too soon in my video! TU!
Thank you for the great tips Justin! I also really appreciate hearing about your personal experience and what you did to improve🤓 This will help out beginner RUclipsrs like me😁
THANK YOU for explaining the split testing!!! This is awesome!I "no ones going to see your video masterpiece" LOL. Yeh I feel that way at times. My AVR is usually pretty decent, so I think I'm checking (most of) the boxes of providing value within the video, but obviously if they don't click , they won't see that! My impression HAVE increased, though, so one step at a time I suppose! (I have squirrel brain bad too but now I can use older age as an excuse!! LOL). Cheers!! Nikki
I just released my first video this past Monday and must have committed every newbie youtube sin there is. Oh well here we go….every Monday a short review on a cannabis concentrate, cart, or disposable. It might be an internet yarn, but I hear tell the algorithms are more charitable to vaping over smoking.
Listen to his sound advice carefully.... My Channel is now at 15k+ subscribers just by using a potato webcam on MBA, an old worn out iPhone 7 and incorporating these key suggestions overall... I've been growing... Thanks JB🔥😎🙌🏼
Justin, there is a ad that plays on your video. Make 10,000 a month without creating any videos? Can you address this as it plays under your name and brand? Do you promote this type of making money on youtube.
Hi Justin, I love your videos! Can you show us how to make the small video animation that you do, the one where you seem to surf into the timeline? I'm not sure what to call it, gif? Thanks 🙂
You are great trainer. I just posted my first video. Oh man, so many mistakes. I’m learning. Keep them tutorials coming. My channel is unlimited solo adventures.
Thank you friend! Super useful! Any tips for Artists that fall in between the cracks so to speak? Meaning, not wanting to constrict into one specific niche. How would one go about finding the right audience? And how do we retain visibility without having to post once or multiple times a week, as some of us are literally an "army of one" lol!
Good information but I don't think NOT doing these things is automatically bad. As someone with NO filming, editing, or youtubing experience, I see this early stage as a learning experience. If fewer people watch the early videos -- that have poor sound, jumpy camera shots, and other issues -- I think I'm ok with that. I'll get better, and then I can apply some of these. Saved the video 😊
You put out great content. I watch a lot of you videos. I have a question. How do you make yourself surf across the screen? I love it. I am not yet that great at editing or creating anything that cool.
What is interesting to me is that you have always had your brother helping you with filming and also someone to talk to and strategize with. What do you do if you are by yourself? This is a lot more difficult, to the point that I have never gone anywhere with Y Tube videos. The technology, the complexity, all of this stuff on top of being an expert on the content, is just too much. Having said that, I really like your channel anyway. Thanks.
Thanks! Having someone to build this with is definitely a big +, but also not a requirement. For extra context too though, we both live in different countries and have done so for years :)
14:30 I have seen an elaborate microphone setup, very expensive I'm sure, and heard its echo. I note that the ABC and BBC use lav microphones almost everywhere. I don't see the thumbnail. Ever. I see and read text, and then I might look for an illustrative picture. I want to know price first, if it's unaffordable, I don't care how good it is. I want to know what it does - the sausage, not the sizzle. I can delete Facebook ads, while having no idea what's being advertised. Don't interrupt your story about your photography adventure to tell me about your wonderful clothing supplier. If your clothing supplier is a sponsor, make a separate video about that sponsor. I'll watch it if I am interested. If your sponsor's product has identifying marks, let me see them sometimes. It's placement.. You could sometimes show me you' loading your chosen images up to your website as part of your postprocessing workflow video. If you break your story, I will walk away.
