To everyone asking about how many chains to use to start the pattern: since you don't have to skip stitches but rather create a cluster stitch in each chain, I would assume you can just use whatever number of stitches you like: doesn't need to be multiples of a certain number like some other stitches that require spacing them out, ie shell stitch. That's why she said it's good for scarves, blankets, etc. I just determined how wide I wanted my project and counted the number of chains it took to get that size. Then I did one row of single crochet into my chains. Then for the 2nd row I started on the cluster stitches; chaining 2 for each row. Hope that makes sense! I'm also just learning.

Would you please include how many chains you use to start the stitch pattern in your videos? Without it, we do not know what our foundation chain should be for our own projects. Otherwise, the clarity of your videos is wonderful.

Could you clarify for us newbies how you would turn correctly for this stitch? How many should we chain @ the end of the row to make it the right height for this stitch as we turn?

I think tutorials that doesn't show you how to begin is kinda useless... Unfortunately.

I agree with you on showing how to begin the pattern. Poor teaching for people who are just starting to crochet, She really should have started it from the beginning. I studied the pattern for at least 6 times before I understood the stitch, and I am 65 year in crocheting, and it wasn't easy.

Hi there! :) This was one of my older RUclips tutorials (before I was more confident and skilled to film longer videos), so I only showed the cluster stitch concept... In the same as someone only teaching the concept of a double crochet. All my newer videos from around the last 12 months have multiples included, and many also now include the written patterns. Sorry this couldn't have been a more enjoyable experience for you, but I hope that hasn't put you off the Cluster Stitch, it's such a fun one to use in projects!

I know this comment is old but I noticed it was never answered. In case anyone still wants to know, I believe you start with an even number of chains. SC in second chain from hook. SC in next stitch. Chain 1 skip a stitch and SC in the second stitch. Keep going SC, chain 1, skip until you get to last 3 stitches and end with chain 1 skip and SC in last 2 stitches. Chain 4 and turn to start the cluster stitch in video.
      Hope this helps.

@@adymolina8831 very helpful. Videos always seem to go too quick for me. If you miss the start then don't know how many chains to start with. Just eish they would repeat some things. I sm a relativly nrw crocher , wanting to do baby blankets for my new grandbaby arriving in Jan. Have s bit of trouble at the edges as well.
Thank you for your help, was great. 😀

Thank you for trying to show a stitch BUT WHY are you showing how to do this stitch without telling the multiples for a starting chain or how to start and finish rows with repeats? The stitch does no go unless you have all the information to make a project or even a starting chain
