And we need to change the denominator so that it fits 60 (an hour)! 4. 4 x 15 = 60! And we need to multiply it to the numerator too, so, 3 x 15 = 45! Ans: 45 mph! Hope you understand!

You might of understood this by now but just in case you haven’t, this is how I would work it out: First look at the time, which is 10 minutes, to make 1 hour you would times the 10 minutes by 6 to get 60 (60 minutes in one hour). We’re trying to work out miles per HOUR (speed), So 6 is the key number here since it makes 1 HOUR. So if 10 minutes covers 18 miles, that means 20 minutes would cover 36 miles, but we need to times this by 6 since 10 goes into 60 six times. 18 x 6 = 108 108mph is the correct answer here. I hope this helps you and I tried to explain it as clearly as possible as a few weeks ago I wouldn’t of understood this question either
So basically 90 miles/ 2 hours = 90/ 120 minutes = divide both by 30 = 3/4. 4 goes into 60 15 times, then 15 multiplied by the numerator 3 will give you the speed which is 45 MPH.
