Thank ya for watching Mrs Lorie and yes mam, we like reusing all that we can!! Dan
Hey I just want to say thank you guys for making a video with describing what you did on the fence over looking for an hour longer and all I've gotten is live music and people building stuff but you can't see what they're doing they don't give a description or what they're doing I mean videos aren't really for looking at pictures they're looking at how to do something but you guys actually did that thank you very much I'm going to go build my fence for some new puppies.
Hello Mrs Varona, welcome the channel and our community mam!! Awesome, glad the video helped ya mam and yes mam, I try to make it a point to show exactly what I did and how I did it!! Do let us know how you pallet fence turned out for you if ya build one!! Thank ya for watching, you have a good week!! Dan
That is a great idea, Dan and Skyla. If you need more pallets I got half a dozen sitting around our AO. LOL Nothing beats a bit of sweat equity, my brother! Soon as we get a decent break from the rain I need to put some in on breaking down the old coop and run.
Take care and stay safe.
Rob
Thank ya for watching Sapper and yes sir, we put that equity in that weekend lol!! We'll be on the hunt for more pallets, more fences to put up and I'm looking forward to y'alls new design on the chicken coop!! Y'all have a good weekend brother, stay safe over there!! Dan
I like it that's neat!!
Tank ya for watching mam, have a great weekend!! Dan
This is one of the many reasons why you are Dan Da Man!!
I'm a fan of the man brother lol!! Thank ya for watching sir!! Dan
WOW - You just gave me a great idea to solve my decades old problem of crossing areas rough terrain. Fencing across poor terrain with ditches has caused many a problem. Placing pallets along this route would allow the "fence" to rise and fall while still maintaining stability. Sorta like putting privacy panels up along a up and down hilly area, but a heckuva lot cheaper.
Thank ya for watching and commenting Tim Bob, welcome to the channel and our community!! Yes sir, ya can't beat a pallet fence, super easy to put up and really easy to fix if a pallet goes south!! Glad ya enjoyed the video, come back and visit when ya can, have a good Tuesday evening!! Dan
This is Genius... wow great job. I would’ve never thought to make a fence out of pallets. I think it looks awesome. 😁 Cheryl and James
Thank y'all for watching Mrs Cheryl, so far the fence is working good, reckon I'll be building a few more soon!! Y'all have a good weekend!! Dan
I'm doing that also even building a barn with pallets lol but having trouble finding the free ones so it's taking awhile, love it my friend
Thank ya for watching mam and cool, I hope you do some video on the pallet barn, that would be shonuff interesting!! Y'all have a good weekend!! Dan
@@HomeInTheSticks Ill try can't seam to upload things don't know why but jy laptop is very old maybe why, anyway i'm building the barn the same way just putting metel around the outside and a roof and door with pallet stalls also
Well I am looking for a much cheaper alternative and I do believe this will work....awesome job....Cheers👍
Thank ya for watching and commenting Karren Brazel, welcome to our community and the channel!! I was looking to build a sturdy paddock on the cheap myself, this works great for me!! You have a good Sunday!! Dan
resourceful my friend
Gotta use what we can brother, I'm all about repurposing stuff lol!! Thank ya for watching James!! Dan
Hey I Think It Looks Great ! There is a Lot of Those Fences Here In KY ! Its Low Cost And Works Great ! Nice Job Ya'll ! Have A Great Week !
Thank ya for stopping by and watching Mr Pete, I'll be building several more come soon lol!! Dan
i want to put skids on the bottom of pallets to make them even easier to move. Uniform ones look fine.
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mrs Lydia, welcome to our community and the channel!! Hmmm, that's an interesting concept using skids on the pallets, mine are permanent so if a pallet rots out, a new one is slid into it's place!! Dan
Hello 👋 104 Like
My new friend Happy day 🥳 💕
Thank ya for watching and subscribing Saxtop TV, welcome to our community and the channel!! Have a great week!! Dan
Awesome
Hello Mrs Mary, welcome to the channel and our community mam!! Yes mam, can't beat the many uses for pallets, I use them a lot over here!! I thank ya for watching and commenting, have a great weekend!! Dan
Smart You can roate the goats back and forth to give the grass a chance to grow back. Permaculture!
Thank ya for watching Mrs Martha and that's the idea were gonna run with!! Have a good weekend!! Dan
Cheap and easy! Even in MN the extreme temps cant kill off the treated pallets especially.
Thank ya for watching and commenting Suburban Stable, welcome to the channel and our community!! Ya got that right, can't be any easier or cheaper using pallets to build a fence and they do really well in the weather over here as well lol!! Preciate ya stopping by the channel, Happy New Years to you and yours!! Dan
Nice fence Dan! Pallets are really hard to come by here -?they mostly get snapped up by rev clears as soon as they’re empty. Awesome that you folks have a connection. Our daughter build a pallet fence at her place in California. Really like your design. Take care over there.
Thank y'all for watching Mr Henry and we're quite pleased on how the fence turned out!! Y'all have a good weekend sir!! Dan
Home In The Sticks Dan we’re gonna be HOT here! Over 100 forecast for the next two days with 98-99 for the future plowing 7 days. We’re usually 5-10 degrees hotter. Ugh! Have a great weekend. Take care and stay safe.
Perfect for renters!
Yes mam, this fence would shonuff work for renters!! Thank ya for watching mam, welcome to our community and the channel, come back and visit when ya can, have a great week!! Dan
Howdy from Central Mississippi
Hello Praylude Recycled Paradise, welcome to the channel and our community!! Preciate ya stopping by and the channel and watching, y'all have a great week!! Dan
New subscriber. 👋 from Jasper Co.
Hello eric self, welcome to our community and the channel sir!! Preciate ya subscribing to the channel, thank ya for watching and commenting, have a good Sunday!! Dan
I'm building a pallet fence rat now.........its a lot of work. but its cheaper 4 shore. I am putting a wood post every 3rd pallet and 3 " screws which are hard to screw in. I am also using smaller pallets to contour the land. Its for my garden to keep the deer and hopefully the rabbits out,
Hello Valkyrie Pedersen, welcome to our community and the channel!! Cool, that sounds like it's gonna be a really nice pallet fence and I would think it'll deter rabbits but them deer love to jump over stuff, I'd run a strand of hot wire on the top of your fence, them deer will get the picture!! I thank ya for watching and commenting, have a good Thursday evening!! Dan
Sweet
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mrs Tina, welcome to our community and the channel mam!! Them goats are shonuff liking that paddock, they keep the grass cut down for me lol!! You have a good week, come back and visit when ya can!! Dan
Hi Dan and Skyla, First sorry about get Skyla's name wrong, Right for the hard work you both have done 👍👍👍, For the brain work 👍👍👍, Well done you two, Take care.
Thank ya for stopping by and watching Mr Ronald!! Dan
It looks great What size of t post did you use?
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Edgar, welcome to the channel and our community sir!! I used 6' T-post on that pallet fence, worked out great!! Preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a great week!! Dan
I love this RUclips channel. But still can find you on fb.
Preciate the kind words my friend, search for Home In The Sticks on FB!! Dan
@@HomeInTheSticks sent you a friend request
i love it...how did u do the gate
Hello Sandy Irchirl, welcome to our community and the channel mam!! What I did to create an inside gate is I cut the field fencing and folded it back, when the goats eat the grass down, I fold the fencing back to stop them from going into that paddock in the attempt to allow the grass to grow back!! Thank ya for watching and commenting, I hope this answers your question!! Have a great week!! Dan
Forst of your vlogs ive seen, love that you havent disbudded yyour goats
Thank ya for watching and commenting drifting soul sisters, welcome to our community and the channel!! Reckon them goats have horns for a reason, so yes mam, I leave them alone!! You have a good week and stay safe!! Dan
Thankyou for the reply Dan. We are part way through fixing up our goat pen when i seen your vlog. Now contemplating taking it down and replacing with a fence like this. We chose goats with horns, feeling like it was the best choice for them and us
Awesome, ya can't beat the pallet fence, easy to put up and take down but more importantly, easy to fix if one of the pallets gets damaged provided you have access to pallets!! Dan
What size screws did you use for the fence? It looks really good
Thank ya for watching and commenting cublet69ify, welcome to our community and the channel!! If I'm not mistaken, I used 2" screws to connect all those pallets together!! Preciate ya stopping by the channel, Happy New Years to you and yours!! Dan
Found you and was surprised when you said you were from east central Mississippi! I’m I’m in Meridian! Going to be building this fence for my house around my pool area soon!
How has it held up?
Hello Mrs Cara, welcome to the channel and our community mam!! Awesome, I think your gonna love the pallet fence, super easy to build and maintain in my opinion!! My fence is still up and keeping the goats in, the pallets are weathered now but I like that look!! I'm in Neshoba county by the way lol!! I thank ya for watching and commenting, come back and visit when ya can!! Have a good Wednesday evening!! Dan
I wanna use this for my miniature cattle and future horses but would you recommend barbed wire or electric wire so there is some sense of clarity?
Thank ya for watching and commenting Krxion, welcome to the channel and our community!! To pasture horses I'd use either barbed wire or slick wire with a strand of hot wire neck high for the horses. The pallet fence uses the actual pallets to stop them goats from getting out although a strand of hot wire running across the top of them pallets would work too for predators that may try to get over the fence!! Hope this answers your question!! Dan
Sorry for this silly question, but what do you call that tool used to bury that crossbar? Thanks
Hello EVRSANTOS1, sorry for the late reply!! That's called a T post driver, works pretty good but it'll give ya a work out lol!! Thank ya for watching and commenting, welcome to the channel and our community!! Have a good weekend!! Dan
What did you fasten the pallet wood to the post?
Thank ya for watching and commenting mam, welcome to the channel!! The pallets are fastened to each other with outdoor wood screws, the t-post is used to hold the pallets upright!! Hope this answers your question, have a great week!! Dan
Question. Do you have problems with the goats climbing out? And what about plt rot especially where it touchs the ground?
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Michael, welcome to the channel and our community!! As of this date, I've never had a goat climb or jump out of the paddocks, I have had one squeeze thru a rip in the field fence but that was fixed. I think your asking if I've had any foot rot or foot scald issues with my goats? No sir, knock on wood I haven't had those problems either. Preciate ya commenting, have a good Tuesday!! Dan
@@HomeInTheSticks actually i was asking about the bottom boards on the plts rotting from contact with the ground.
Ahhhh I gotcha sir, no sir I haven't seen any rotting as of yet but I'm sure it will happen eventually. My plan on that would be once I see the bottom boards rotting, I'll invert the whole pallet and put the top of the pallet on the bottom OR replace the whole pallet!! Dan
Have you ever had any of your goats jump it I got a ngd I’m worried about jumping it.
Thank ya for watching and commenting my friend and no, I've never had any of my goats jump this fencing. Now if I had something near the fence like something the goats jump on, I could see them jumping over the fence!! Dan
Do you guys rotate pastures?
Thank ya for watching and commenting A. Ghobrial, welcome to our community and the channel!! Yes we do rotate pastures, I have more to fence in as well!! Preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a good Thursday evening!! Dan
What did you use to fasten the t post to the pallet ?
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr David, welcome to our community and the channel sir!! The t-post are just sitting in between the gap of the pallet to prevent the pallet from moving forwards or backwards so they're not fastened sir!! Hope this answers your question!! Preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a good week!! Dan
@@HomeInTheSticks Thank you . I thought I would tie it to the pallet to keep them from moving . I have ideas.
Mr David, I did screw the pallets to each other, top, middle and bottom, I forgot to mention that!! Dan
I wouldn't recommend driving the posts down with a sledgehammer. I have done this before and from my experience, little bits of the post can break off and fly back at you. I know you wear sunglasses a lot and that will help protect your eyes but those little pieces of metal hitting you in the face aren't fun either. Other than that, the fence looks great!
Thank ya for watching and commenting Meridius351, welcome to our community and the channel!! Good tip on the metal shards, I was thinking about putting a block of wood on top of those T post and hitting it with the sledge hammer instead of just hitting the metal T post, reckon we'll see how that goes!! Preciate ya watching, have a good weekend!! Dan
Any particular t post?
Thank ya for watching and commenting Ray McCarty, welcome to our community and the channel sir!! Yes sir, I used 6' t-post on that paddock build!! Preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a good un!! Dan
Dan why not use the front end loader on tractor to push t post in ground. Too hot to be using a sledge, work smarter not harder.
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Bill!! Yes sir I agree with ya on the front end loader, if I had one on my tractor I'd have done it that way!! Have a good Thursday sir!! Dan
how to do this without the expensive tposts? easially 130$ just for the tposts. 6.18 or so at the store, but a great system other then tpost costs.
Thank ya for watching and commenting nolebloodedfarmer, welcome to our community and the channel!! Yes the t-post can get expensive for sure, I used a few I had on the farm. Sometimes one can find t-post on a buy sell trade page pretty cheap. I preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a good Sunday evening!! Dan
Great idea, but goats climb as you mentioned. They will get out in a minute. Wanted to see how it is going 2 years later?
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Michael, welcome to our community and the channel!! The pallet fence is still up and holding my female goats in without any problems, matter of fact I haven't replaced any broken pallets yet either. I plan on expanding the paddock soon using more pallets as this is a cheap way to fence in more area for me!! Preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a good Sunday evening!! Dan
@@HomeInTheSticks Thanks for replying Dan! Looking into getting a few goats and everyone I talk to say they are going to get out and end up who knows where.
God stuff brother. Enjoyed your video.
Yes sir, goats like to climb and jump for sure but I've had 15 goats at one time and in 8 years, I've never had one jump over the fencing. What I will say is if ya put some form of entertainment in your pen for your goats like a childs plastic slide or anything they can jump on to, put it in the center of the pen and not near the fencing!! Dan
thats a gen -u- wine RCA fence!
It's sho nuff working good so far brother lol!! Thank ya for watching sir!! Dan
Goats are not really grass eaters tho.. they like to eat from above their shoulders.
Thank ya for watching and commenting and thank ya for the info, welcome to the channel!! Dan
Probably not a good fence for pigs. Unless it's electric pigs take a fence as a challenge to destroy.
Thank ya for watching brother and hopefully the goats won't tear anything up but I'm with ya on pigs tho, they do tear stuff up especially pastures lol!! Have a good weekend!! Dan
Man you gotta learn to edit your videos and narrate so that we can see the product and not you just talking about what we want to see. Good job though
Thank ya for watching and commenting Justin Herrera, welcome to our community and the channel!! Hey bro, that how I do!!! Dan
Great idea!
Hello Myra Savelkoul, welcome to our community and the channel!! If one has access to pallets, ya can't beat this type of fencing, cheap and easy to replace if something breaks on the fence!! I thank ya for watching and commenting, come back and visit when ya can, have a good Thursday!! Dan
