- This is a new DayZ Expansion called Frostline. This new DLC includes a NEW map Sakhal which is set in Russia. New assets like buildings, boats and clothes. New animals such as rabbits, reindeer, fish and even caviar. New mechanics like fishing. The fishing has had a whole overhaul to make it more fun and interactive. The new DLC Frostline will come out with update 1.26 at the end of 2024 on xbox playstation and pc.

We play DayZ which is one of the best survival games of 2023. If you enjoy Rust , Tarkov , Deadside or other new survival games you will enjoy this one! DayZ is an open world multiplayer pvp survival crafting zombie game with high risk, high reward player interactions. You can live off the land and hunt for food or pvp geared players and take their loot. We make DayZ videos, DayZ Streams, DayZ shorts. Can you guys put a word in to devs to make DayZ on console cross play compatible between PlayStation and Xbox lol?
I would pay $20-$30 more in order to play with friends on different consoles, and I'm sure others would do the same

p.s here's a brownie recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of butter
- 2 cups of sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
3. Beat in flour, cocoa, and salt. If desired, fold in nuts.
4. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not overcook; the brownies should be moist in the center.
6. Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Some people will be happy, others will not. At least the devs haven't abandoned the game like other companies have after just a few years. I see progress, even if it is slow and steady.
Should've added this as an edit, but I see people complaining about $30 for a DLC when Tarkov just actively shat on everyone by asking $250 for theirs. You can see which company is in it for the quick cash grab and which one isn't.
Why would they have abandoned it?
They have been making $ ever year.
They're just not working enough on it. They are relying on modders and the community to survive, kind of weird tbh. Instead of it being a give and take relationship.

I havent played this game for years, but after quick look sadly i cannot see any major content that was added to this game lately. Can you name any new features that they have added in like 3 years Because for me, this game still looks like barebones. It have greate core, but for me it still lacks a lot on major fronts. Btw isnt it just Tanoa map painted in white, repainted building assets from Cherno, 3 new animals, and some cosmetic changes to survival mechanics for 30$ ? Bro cmon... If you want see slow but steady progress, try Zomboid.

They're developing the vanilla platform, while also allowing the community to host their own modded servers to give players a huge range of play style options without filling their base game with mods and ruining it for people who enjoy the vanilla experience. Why would you want to change that? Tarkov on the other hand, tightly control the player's gameplay experience, don't allow any modding, have to do all their own server hosting, matchmaking, and cheater management, and then they charge $250+tax for an offline co-op game because their server costs, matchmaking queue times, and cheat management are arguably the worst in the industry, and you're here complaining about sub~$30 for a new DayZ map, and getting the previous DLC for free, and free access to whatever community servers you like? What more do you want?!?

None of the modded maps are all that great, anyway. They are all buggy and shoddily made. This new official one should run and look heaps better than any of the modded maps. Especially Namalsk.

Obviously it's a work in progress but would love to see things like snow falling off tree limbs as you run through snow covered pines. I think more emersive things like that would go along way to make up for it's current deficiencies.

Dude, what game do you play that does NOT have hackers? It's always going to be a thing. It's part of PVP gaming unfortunately.

Please, make new houses or different assets
This - been saying it for years it seems. I'm sure easier said than done but another thing they can do is just finish the existing house assets. All those blocked doors in houses and manufacturing and school type buildings, make rooms and unblock the doors...just doing that would probably add about 35% to the lootable area in the buildings at least. Of course, that many more spawn points may wreak havoc on loot tables and server performance, especially in the larger urban areas.
@@jeffoppold4935 I think they've made a conscious decision to have those blocked doors etc, for the reasons you've mentioned, but also because it would be realistic to have plenty of locked doors in the real world in this kind of environment, and it also makes the gameplay experience a bit more fluid as you don't need to check a million rooms in every house when you're looting or PvP'ing.
Most games just customize pre-made assets (Tarkov included), and they did repeatedly say that the new map was a WIP, and that they are adding custom assets. So we'll just have to wait till release to see what they are.

This play test isn’t a real dayZ experience though…. Didn’t see a single freshy with a motorcycle helmet or zombie flying 30 feet in the air 😂
As an Xbox player though I’m ecstatic, finally we get some love. Now if only consoles could access modded maps 🙏🏼
I think the reason is that consoles aren't powerful enough for fully modded dayz. Or maybe a licensing thing since console is closed environment and PC/Steam is open to whoever wants to upload.

Kind of reminds me of Vikendi on PUBG, which was one of my favourite maps on that gane. I'm looking forward to playing this during the coming winter.

Im more amazed on how many people in that room could make this game even more better, between the devs and the content creators and advise alone, the game could be even more amazing.
Why don't they just pay a guy to model some new fucking assets? I'm tired the look and feel of Arma II DayZ Mod Cherno buildings being used in every map still.
Child you'll learn patience eventually.. however I love how y'all cry over this hugely successful game .. if we gauge success by longevity it's an 11 yr old game older if you count the Arma 2 mod days where Dean hall basically created the entire game and then put it as a standalone game then handing off to bohemia after being with them he now builds survival games with his own studio.. so name another 11 yr old game that's still getting new content after over a decade ?? I find it amusing reading the comments from kids younger then the game itself who think they could do better then when new games come out the " better " they can do is b grade at best and average of the cheese between your toes type of platform 64- 128 bit games I used 30+ years ago
@@tim211100 nah, modders have been keeping this game alive for this long. devs refusing to switch to the finished enfusion engine and getting excited about adding an svd and ambient sounds in an update is laughable at best. You are the reason why games come out unfinished these days. What happened to releasing fully finished games, especially when the price is over $20. Releasing a game in alpha or beta and releasing multiple dlcs before actually finishing the game should be illegal.

Also stop assuming all the shit you spew, I've been modding for diffrent games for at least 18 years and for bohemia based games since arma 2 came out, I know all the engines theyve used in and out and their "Roadmap" has been abandoned once the game first released and they got that cash. Reforger engine (Enfusion) is finished in a sense that there won't be any major game breaking updates to it just tewaks and fixes but in it's current state it is way beyond dayz's half assed rushed copy.

Bohemia just fucking hates DayZ it seems.
Despite DayZ more than triplicating the concurrent player counts for Arma 3, it still gets a 12 man dev team while Arma has 100+ people working on it.
And don't get me wrong, i love the Arma games and their legacy, and i respect the fact that bohemia got to where it is today thanks to Arma.
But they just refuse to allocate any more resources to the development of DayZ despite it's incredible growth over the last 6 years.
More money means more stuff in game and a better game. What’s wrong with that?
I mean, they haven't asked for much over the last 11 years. 1 single DLC (which they're now giving away for free).
So even with this DLC, it'll cost players less than $75 for ALL of the content in a game which has had 11+ years worth of support and development, an activy modding and server community, and arguably one of the highest replay-ability in the industry. I can't think of a cheaper game in terms of $/hour of gameplay for me. Even at my relatively low 600hours, it works out at 12c/hour even after I buy this new map. There would be plenty of people around with a cost of less than 1c/hour.

I'm a PC player so I guess I'm spoiled with already having many maps, mods, and experiencing few to none cheaters. But still, I can't help but feel a bit dissapointed by for now. At least on the asset front, I hope for a lot more buildings to not be boarded off. Even empty rooms are better than boarded of room, in my opinion. But thanks for sharing and being a part of this journey, lads! :)
Namalsk is now official and you have to pay for it,that's what I learned from this. I know that the map will be slightly different but it still has Namalsk physics and it's presented like we never seen it before. I am all for paying for maps, the molders and designers should get paid for their work but this feels like charging for someone else's work that was already there for free.
I will probably buy it at some point but not for $30.

Looks great, and I'm happy to have a new map. I play a lot on modern console these days, and am super excited for that. Given the amount of playtime I've enjoyed from DayZ, it represents the best value gaming investment I've ever made and I am more than happy to pay for a new map, a new snow map, which is also a little smaller to give a different feel to the other maps in size too.
For 11yrs tho and being a dlc I don't know how this will play out.. its really been within the community and mods that have made the game inviting and a game changer.. but I really appreciate the devs and dev team for all the hard work and commitment to this game ❤
The community mods and servers can only ever build on the base game though. If DayZ didn't have 11 years of development under its belt, the moddes and community would have abandoned it long ago. So I feel like DayZ Devs deserve a lot more credit than they're given for the longevity and continuous improvements in the game over the years. They might work slower than what some people expect, but at the end of the day, they usually do a great job, and provide an awesome foundation for the community to build on, so there's a range of gameplay experiences for everyone to enjoy.
It's not like they've turned it into a cash cow offering P2W and 2 DLCs every year, or a rebrand of the same game every single year like all of the sports games. So I don't mind the 6-yearly DLC lol

I wasn't saying negative I appreciate the devs so much for making such a great game and the continued support I'm just meaning a dlc for a new map called frostline when we have so much out there at the moment and frostline doesn't incorporate into the original dayz the update will do that in the 1.25 or 1.26 I don't understand why a dlc tho we have had lavonia that was a dlc now is being applied to the dayz maps as a non dlc map and everyone will be able to play it. It's the frostline I think they could of done something different instead

I am a PC player and I am glad that they are taking this out especially for the console players cause they don't get as much as us PC players with all the mods and extra maps etc so it definitely ups the aspect for console players, I hope in the future that it will be possible for PC players and console players to play together and that they get all the fun we get with mods etc. I hope you enjoyed your time away guys and thanks what you do for us and all the laughs you give us as I need all the smiles I can get just now as sadly I lost my wife so I am pretty devastated and struggling with life but your videos etc keep me going so thank you for that love from Scotland

Sub~$30 is a fair price for a new official map with new official gameplay features, especially when we're getting Livonia for free now.
I genuinely believe this map will end up being more popular than Livonia, Namalsk, and all the other community maps once its fully develloped.

I think it's great that vanilla is getting an actually hardcore survival map - something missing from the base experience.

@@gregorio7535 To be fair, they said "less than $30". It might be $29, it might be $0.30c, and it might also have location based pricing like Tarkov where Russians get it for like 1/3 the price of everyone else. So lets not judge until it's finished and we know all the details 🙂

The same assets for 10 years, the same mechanics of Namalsk they waiting for the modders working for them
The guy who made Namalsk (both the original A2 version and the remastered DayZ SA version) is literally one of the lead devs for DayZ who remastered and updated Namalsk for SA entirely for free during his free time. In fact, unless I am misremembering, I believe Namalsk's creator is one of the guys giving exposition and explaining Frostline in this video.
Namalsk is a Free DLC in all but name.

I love winter in games so I am hyped for this. But even then, I just wanna say. With the frozen soda cans etc, they basically just looked at Namalsk and said "Lets do that too" but still the more winter themes I get in games the happier I am
The guy in the computer is adam francu (a.k.a Sumrak). He is the creator of namalsk... and the lead creative of dayz... its a bit weird for me that they havent released namalsk as an oficial map.... but well... idk.
Namalsk was made by the creative lead of DayZ.

Such an awesome statement by the devs, they don’t want to abandon existing dayZ players, and maintaining what’s already made is very nice to hear…. I love the game and hope to play it another ten years 😅

I don't see why not. When Livonia came out, chernarus also got the bears.

It sounded like they were making edits to the game that were required in the frostline map available in other maps. Didn’t he mention something about cold and elevation and weather applying to other maps? That’s what i would assume since they’re adding it to the core game, not a custom map and mod pack

Looks like Namalsk. Many of you have not played modded pc version of dayz and it shows. So many mods for pc!!

My take on this presentation:
It was a personal persecution, doesn’t happen this days anymore, so I appreciate this.
As far as I can tell they did not added enough content for the map. This is basically a beta at best. The sounds like small insects or birds is still active (in this environment insects can not survive). Whether event are not included (yet). Also the snow density is not correct, they could add a more deep snow when high altitude - combined with slower movement in deep snow but ability to hide in the snow. They can add snow animals, like a fox.
I feel like the dev need money for now and provide the content later. But on the other hand this game doesn’t have micro transactions what I appreciate. So I will buy this map and hope they will read this and add some nice things to the game.

The graphics look great, especially how the terrain changes as you move further inland..the build up of snow on the trees is a very nice detail
This is great for console players...But with how the Official servers are so plagued with hackers even after 10 years i just don't see myself playing it. No matter how much I would like to try it

Looks good but come on how hard is it to make an entire new set of buildings? The SAME OLD buildings on EVERY map makes it feel NO different to any other map.
