Thanks Jim. Orange engine light came on the dash of my 1.5 diesel Quashqai. Brought it to a main Nissan dealer who hooked it up to the diagnostics, said it was soot in the EGR and are looking for €370 to do the job. Nope, I'll do it myself. I'm a mechanic myself though out of the game for over a decade so needed a helpful vid like this as not to go in "bind" and start needlessly removing clutter out of the way that didn't need to be. 10/10, thanks. I'll buy a can of EGR cleaner and save myself €370! I'll also probably spare myself some first year apprentice damaging some other engine component as he "learns the ropes" at my expense!
I got a warning system message, so I need to check that small pressure exhaust pipe also need to clean my EGR Valve this weekend , but I need to check the fuse and power supply and then give it a good run , thanks Jim keep the video,s coming

Jim thank you so much for your videos! Life saver! Can I ask, do you know if a blocked/clogged EGR valve will cause juddering when the engine is under load - that's what I'm experiencing and I'm trying to diagose. My exhaust gas pressure pipe was blocked too, such a common fault. Thanks again
Hi Jim just wondering ? are you aware that there is another EGR valve on that car as well its known as the low pressure EGR valve these things give their problem also , it controls the flow of gases through the cooler , there is a screen and butterfly that get chocked up , so I would be cleaning that one also , cleaning one valve is only half doing the job , just for your information so that you wont get caught out with another problem later , Keep up the good work
Cleaned my Lexus is220d egr can use carb cleaner works quite well and toothbrush.this is lot easier to remove then Lexus . dealer's won't even clean it they just replace.

Hi Jim, regarding your other video on this engine with the blocked pressure pipe, I've cleaned it out with brake cable etc and I'm sure some snapped off! Will it hurt the engine? How hard is it to take the pipe off to try retrieve the wire? Cheers

I got an engine faillure orange on my board . can it be the same probleme . My engine was driving wel . just 94000 km . did you read with an obd 2 reader ??
A) There's absolutely no need to remove the motor from the egr to clean the valve. If you want to clean the valve stem, just remove the plastic cover (it slides out to expose the stem, and valve spring), then push down hard onto the valve to open it. You can then clean it with egr cleaner, a toothbrush, and some paper towels. I lubricate the valve stem with PTFE spray. B) I've no idea why your valve is pitted like that. I've removed and cleaned my egr valve every 6months for the past 3years and not had that.
Its a sealey it's from there 12v cp1200 range to be honest the best ones out the range are the cordless ratchet and the sander/polisher. He is using the impact driver but it amd the 3/8 impact wrench are not that powerful. For an impact gun I use a dewalt impact driver and converted the bit to a 3/8 anvil. Little thing is a monster

All nissan qashqai dci owners should be using C4 oil not c3 as shown here, less issues using c4👍

Ive used autosmart G101 gives fast new like results or even petrol but must be dry before refitting
