Love this and I'm going to have to watch a few more times to understand how on earth it was setup, but I love that this shows how much of a team effort these projects are! Really awesome!
Thanks for making and sharing these fantastic videos. But I must say(admit??) that I did not get any "FOMO", I just enjoyed seeing You all enjoying it. Best regards
Lmao at the ticker at the bottom talking about that Mulholland Highway closure, nothing makes me feel more at home than seeing that message day after day whenever I see channel 5. Oh and nice highline!
Small correction to the description... I crossed it 3 times. And I'm still kind of awe at the teamwork, motivation and talent that got it up and down. Thank you for putting together this video!
So, do you need a permit to do this? Does the park charge you for a permit? Does the park check your equipment and such or do they figure you know more than most of them and trust your judgment?
There is no official system. We voluntarily told them when and what we were doing. There is no charge for big wall permits which is the category we sort of fall into now. The park does not micro manage gear or rigging.
@@neild7971 The Yosemite rangers knew and cleared that airspace, helicopter pilots and rescuers were all aware of our project. We also send out NOTAMs for projects like these
@@HowNOT2 Thanks for your reply, Ryan! The dangling lines make it look so scarily loose. :-D What I missed was that the backup is connected to the links as well and not a giant line that is just taped to the segmented line... Just to understand it better: how long is the backup compared to one segment? 50 m segment and 70 m backup?
Why does the guy filming seem to think HE is the one in charge of the project? He kinda showed up after all the hardest parts were done and started barking orders and making all kinds of passive aggressive comments.
One these days the YOSAR and Fire helicopter is going to strike your line, and if not them , one of the rouge fighter pilots that like to race the park canyons will

You guys are legends. This channel is going places
Well, now you have to test if licking a line grip makes it hold better.
It’s been a year… we’re all waiting Ryan 😂
I can barely walk a 30’ 1” line.
This is rad. I can’t wait for the world record videos.
I came here for the break tests, stayed for the rad stories.
Every second of this video was a showstopper!
Such an awesome project! Huge Congrats to everyone involved.
That's incredible. The skills you add to the mix in rigging are amazing. What an accomplishment! Congratulations!!
I am watching this on top of Yosemite.
I love looking at the places are talking about.
Absolutely love the rigging videos
Can you test if machine washing slings effects breaking strengths with different detergents/no detergent
Love seeing the Park Ranger (I think I remember him from a hownot2 Bigwall vid?) give the scoop to the group of hikers!
Love this start to the edit too epic stuff mad love from fellow highliners in New Zealand
Thats so crazy guys :D
Love to watch how you work together!
Super awesome, Im very happy for you, and what you made, congrats

"You should probably stop doing that"! Lol
Fkin Awesome! Hope to be there in a few more years practice!!
Wow, I never realised that beyond some length, "steep" enters the vocabulary of slacklineing
More highline stuff!
Krass was ihr gemeinsam Leisten könnt! Respekt! Ihr seid Vorbilder!
Nice to see you do something that you enjoy rigging 😂😂
What a dream. I'd so love walking this
Totally super good enough 👌
Can you make a video on how to tie a bowline?

There have been situations with helicopters around here. Wise to let air field or rescue crews know.

Uuuuuau that’s amazing!!
That backup line looks very loose... Seems to be a long fall before it even tightens?!
only 10 meters of a fall if one main breaks. we do segmented highlines so it is individual 50 meter sections
@@HowNOT2 Save for the one 150m section, right?

I know nothing about highline but wouldn't be awesome to use drones to get gear from one end to the other?
Park doesn't allow it. Otherwise we fly fishing line across
@@HowNOT2 Just ask a hang glider buddy to drop you a line ;) [jokes]
Awesome!
Worth it!
Very epic
WOW❣
Wow
The script of the lady's intro hurt my ears....
WTF XDDD This is insane :D
Helicopter 🚁? All the time spent ? I bet the volunteers would have chipped in. 1 hour at most
3:15 This aged poorly 😂
Love how you said strong leader and left out BRANDON...
She likes the alliteration don’t she
Well done

We spoke with park service and fire resources before rigging. NOTAM was also put out
