I don't think I'd ever rope swing, but if I did I'd want it to be on your line. I love your attitude, attention to detail and the process, and good nature! Love your videos!
I have never thought this was so rad until now. You're videos are perfect tutorials for safety and best parties. Sad to see this channel end. I wish you had more information on climbing
But how did you get the initial fishing line across the canyon? Or did I miss something? Also, some hikers will have been quite confused, seeing someone using a fishing pole up there, as if you are fishing for a mythical mountain fish! I have never rock climbed in my life, but have been binging on your videos these days, and have been living vicariously through all you guys. Great stuff.
hey did i miss something? how did you get the fishing line across the canyon? step 1? were you able to walk it around the ridge, or downclimb and then upclimb through the canyon, or can you fly it across with a drone!? you're awesome btw and props for doing big stuff solo
@@Inexpressable I was cringing at that so hard lol, before you say " well if you did it you would probably say the same" nope, been there done that. :P Great video though haha, but thats when i went "I've seen enough".
@@Navilicous I get you. different people, different mindsets for sure. i feel like i would've just been quiet and humbled myself while doing it - but everyone's different
@@Inexpressable Yeah same thing I did. I fully respect any guy willing to do something like this. Doesn't mean I won't cringe a little internally if they scream I'm alive at the top of their lungs 5+ times :P I just think its funny thats all, no hate towards my man here.
I just can’t get over where the span of these high lines have gone in recent years. When people watch all of these unreal videos from Morocco and Turkey and BC on youtube and see someone sending a line and we read “100m sag” (or whatever the proper nomenclature is) I don’t think it computes with viewers “hey that one inch wide webbing has a 20+ story building of swag in the line” The whole thing is just mind blowing. It’s the most insane thing humans can do in 2022. IMO it even blows the doors off of wing suit stuff because there are professional sports level safeties built in that (regrettably) wing suiting completely lacks at present. One seems like it’s moving in the direction of rock climbing whereas the other seems like it’s moving to being outlawed pretty much everywhere. Also what about all these badass girls waking the lines? Freakin mind blowing.
Quick question: for the double tagline method, rather than having to pull twice a fishing rope which looks like a enormous pain couldn't you just have the second tagline attached to the first one and pull it accros similarly to how you would then pull the webbing?
Ryan's attention to detail is allot like mine and I would not think twice about jumping on a line he had rigged. But being the lazy POS I am, I would be bringing my Maxis XD1 tugger to do the pulling for me. Nice work there sir!
Did i miss the part where you actually put the fishing line over? That would have been super interesting as well.. either way, super interesting video! I mean super imteresting enough...😅
Isn't wrapping the rope around your hand also bad, much like attaching it to you? It's something you specifically avoid when using rags around wood lathes and similar, in case it gets caught and pulls your hand into the machine
No drones allowed in Yosemite... He said in a different video, you can cast the fishing line from both sides. Then climb down the valley and tie them together.
Maybe this is just a lack of experience... but you really have no worries with a single purple span set girth hitched to one tree with a span of 291 meters? Wouldn’t you want to back that anchor up with another tree at least?
In line, that purple spanset breaks at 80kn. In a basket it is double. My webbing breaks at 30kn. No reason to back up tree, because if it comes out, i'm getting pulled down if the spanset is still attached to it. There is no more force on a 291 meter line than a 29 meter line (at peak force)
could you attach a battery powered drill to the reel and use it to save time and effort, maybe use the clutch on the drill to make sure you don't break the fishing line
a bit late i know, and a bit safety nazi i know but, if you advise people to not attatch a line to them while having a line wraped around your hand tree times, that kinda makes me wonder....
In an aircraft im fine but on edges i get vertigo, worst in buildings because i know it hasnt been there for thousands of years and human error is evident everywhere.
You you got Emely out on rope and your showing rocks damit wanted to see how she did she looked like she was doing awsome you would love being a tree climber taking hole trees down knowing knots and weights a you would love its we need to make zip lines and all kinds od stuff to be a realy good riger. We youse same stuff are rope are heavyier but same knots and the sadel is heavier

“I love rigging” that is an understatement.
An amazing statement out of context
Holy cow, man. So much respect for the work you put in. That was one hell of a tire swing!!

love the ropeswing man, fills my trousers even from way over here. Nice job rigging this beast, keep em comin'!
Who doesn’t love watching people suffer for no good reason
This channel needs way more views. Awesome content
1st time ever watching anytime like this and I always wondered how these ropes were pulled across. never though a fishing pole would be in use.
Bloody awesome.
I love a good rigging session to. Really gets the grey matter working.
Great job and thanks for sharing
I love your channel and how candid you are . From Australia thank you and keep up the good work and never give up 💪

I usually do it with a drone.
Just a good cast

Yeah what's the point of a video that completely skips the main quettion?
Don't rely on me for advice on how [not] to highland, but I am pretty sure he walked around. No drones in the national parks.
@@professorsogol5824 The point is we don't get how he walked it round without it snagging on every single tree.

Awesome your taking it to new levels alot lately.
How did he get the fishing line across? Thats the first step and he never explained how it was done.
im really confused... did he walk the line from one end to the other???

My friend actually tried this. It didn't work and he died.

That's a solid question
No drones allowed in Yosemite... He said in a different video, you can cast the fishing line from both sides. Then climb down the valley and tie them together.
6 ounce weight on the line with an 80 pound shock leader you could cast clear across the valley without hitting bottom.
Bow and arrow ?
Congrats man...Looked like alot of work solo, but worth it in the end
Just watching the video makes my heart skip a beat, 😵💫🙃
Your videos make my Palms sweat. Very stressful....but I likes it
is that what i think it is on your gear wall at 23:10???
Yes bro I was wondering the same thing
It's for the other kind of "rigging" haha
nice work!
Great video!
is that what I think it is, on the bottom left of your wall at 23:00?
Ive always wondered how they tied those ropes off.
How did you get the first fishing line across?
Wait, maybe I missed it, tried to go back and find it, but how did he get the tag line across? I'm still confused.
So you setup the line. To away for the night and in the morning you jump without knowing if someone tempered with it?
that was really good :) i like your videos thanks
I have a question regarding purple sling, that you are using around the tree. Is it rated only for 1000kg.? It looks like there is written WLL 1 Tone?
Those are commonly rated for 8000-12000 lbs, sorry for not having a coversion, so a 5:1 would be between 1600lbs to 2400lbs(7Kn- 10.6kn)

sure... but not in a national park haha

You have a film crew but you are also self filming?

The real question is how much did this setup cost?
In tree work or tree gear thats couple thousand. Not sure rock climbing world

did anyone notice a huge black thingy in left botom corner of his gear wall, is that a ginormous buttplug ???
Fly the fishing line with a drone bro
nice one!
I would shit my pants. Like literally.
i'd still wear a parachute.
if you use the whole fishing rod it will be easier to reel in
Use an older 2 speed fishing reel like Shimano TLD 50 they are cheap on eBay
