ENERGIZE! 🤙
Rock cooking is brilliant!
Don't forget evasive manuevers and set phazers to maximum!
The amount of times I used hot rocks to cook or heat things and dry on great vid thanks Shawn viewers I'd also rec rocky ovens he's good at outdoor survival tips.
I'm a native from around the Canadian border & you this better than me lol. Good skills man!
Hey y'all I'm from Foley Alabama.and I think he did a good job.sorry if some people got disappointed.but I think he did a good job.the only ones that appreciate are the ones are actually going out in the woods camping I give this man a 10 for a good show I think some of us sometimes need to think about how hard it really is to start out it's not easy but when a bad circumstance comes up you're ready for it and if you watch these videos you can think this man for all the things he showed you can I get an amen
"BBQ in the driveway, where it's safe." LMFAOOOO!!😂🤣
One hamburger triple meat with lots of cheese and bacon video please.
Dam that sounds really good right now.
Can you smell what the rock.....is cookin'?
As a kid in the 80s we were camping near a lake. We setup to grilled chicken. Had to use some big rocks to hold up the grate of chicken. After about 20 minutes of cooking and maybe an hour of fire time. A rock exploded. I'm talking high order. Blew all the chicken apart. Rock shrapnel all over. Even bent the rack a little. We found chuncks of rock 75 feet away. Moral of thay story be careful with rocks and fire. Not all of them agree with each other. We ate hotdogs that night grilled over another rock free fire.
The original GraniteWear skillet. Enjoyed the video, thanks!
Consuming a little charcoal with the meat is not a health hazard. In fact, charcoal can be the difference between surviving food poisoning and actually succumbing to food poisoning.
I loved the "Cook on a BBQ in the drive way comment" 😄 Aboriginal cooking is almost always done within the ash so I don't understand why people get so hung up if a bit of ash gets in their food 🤷 I have had to say a few times to people, "no it's fine, it won't hurt you."
I like the caveman rock cooking, that's a neat trick!
Banger after banger. The real ones here don't really care what videos you put out, Corp - we'll still watch 'em 🙌
I've been watching your content for 13 years Shawn. The content is informative. It's great. Carry on Corporal!
Hey Shawn, nice cookout in the woods on a rock, great job! 🇺🇸
I've tried this before but I was doing it wrong. Thanks for the great tutorial! I can't wait to give this a try with fresh brook trout from a PNW lake.
Finally somebody has shown this cooking method. Good on you, Shawn. I've been using this for over 20 years. The way you do it it the best way. Only don't use shale rock. It explodes.
I was hoping you’d start a cooking feature. Great video, really enjoyed it!
Ohh rahhh!
I have watched Sunday videos now for 6 years, but I have to get hip to tuning into mid-week videos.
Two trailer park girls go round the outside...round the outside...round the outside!👍
So, a note on rocks from stream beds, some are porous and will trap moisture inside. These stones will explore when heated, be cautious.
I’ve cooked a lot of meat over an open campfire and haven’t gotten sick yet in all my 55 years. You can’t live in a bubble, get out there and enjoy the outdoors.
Every time I taught a wilderness survival merit badge class for my scouts, this was one of the best projects for that week.
I took a shot every time you said "around the outside" and now I am Nancy Pelosi.
Oh no your wet rock will explode🙃🤪🤣
Another Outstanding A.F video my friend
That’s good eatin’ yum! Nothing like a good old camping meal with plenty of protein 😎
Nothing wrong with a little Capt Caveman Al fresco.
'round the outside, 'round the outside. LOL
The borg from star trek that was awesome
Great video!! I remember doing that over 30yrs ago when I was in the Boy Scouts way before they went woke.
Wow have times have changed..
Boy Scouts don't do this anymore God knows. 🤮
@@JoeCool-mj1so They compare nail polishes now...
Cooking with The Corporal. Great. Please do not forget Corporal's Carpentry. Always Outstanding AF.
Cooked this way a few times....simple and easy with NO PANS to clean!
I like the rock stacking idea. The Midwest is perfect to find these types of rocks around you where some are flat and stackable like this too. Great content AF as always.
I bought a piece of “corner scrap” from a granite counter top shore (it looks rugged without and square edges). Anyhow, I have been cooking off of it for 5 plus years now like you show in your video. They make anything a skillet can that does not swim in oil. Eggs, bacon, toast, steaks, sausage and fish along with a lot of veggies. I paid $5 bucks for the piece I bought and you can cook 3 large ribeyes at a time on it.
Awesome video and everyone should try cooking off a stone.
If you are worried about rocks exploding, heat it once and stay away out of range.
Now you are safe!
You are welcome!
I wish I could come to Dallas on those days, but I have no way to get there. I live three hours away from Dallas. Have a great day and God bless!
Awesome, Corporal!!!
Love that you’re mixing it up and keeping fresh and REAL!
Straight Cavemanning it with nothing but meat!!
Semper Fi, Marine
Ash, grit, fingers covered in pine resin layered with dirt, it all adds flavor😂🤣😅 Mosquitoes are my nemesis 🫡
You forgot about the legend of the exploding rocks with water in them 🤣
Simple and brilliant. I have done this many times. One thing I will add is to make a brush from green twigs, pine needles, etc. One of the benefits of building the fire on the rock to start is that if cleans the rock of parasites and microbes from the gut of snails and amphibians. Using damp leaves risks recontamination even though the rock is hot. Your content is awesome.
I like these in the wild cooking videos even experimenting with different rock cooking techniques and supplies. Ok hope you do more of them. Fishing is next and that's fun as well...
Meat good ,fire good
Meat on fire Ungowa...👍
Did I just see you at Speedway in Wellston Ohio? If not you have a twin!
Rock cooking is fantastic. Good flavor too.
I'm glad you vary the content. Not that your videos are boring, because they're not. It's just that variety is the spice of life. And if you're married, I don't mean other women 😁. Have a great weekend. Looking forward to Sundays drop. Oooh rah.
Another fantastic thumbs up video. Charcoal is actually good for most folks. Helps to clean the human system. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom.
Outstanding AF
Cooking on a flat rock repeatedly tempers the rock like a cast iron fry pan.
Carnivore Cooking with Corp!! Outstanding AF Brother🇺🇸💪🇺🇸👍
Cooking on a rock. Excellent 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
"Where it's safe"? Too many people give up too much freedom, in the name of safety. "What If" is a powerful phrase.
The star trek/borg reference was on point!
As always, a great video...Stupid, jealous haters, are gonna hate...Shawn, you always give a "down to earth" informative video, that might save someone's life! Always an informative series! Never give up! Great stuff...HOOAH!!!
Love your videos
Watching this at 7.30 in the morning from the Netherlands and now I am hungry and want to Cook a kilo of meat. 😉😃 Thanks for the video, I am of to the kitchen.......
May God bless you.
Sometimes when I look up your channel. I can’t even find it.
Thank you for everything Corporal.
As a fisherman I like your survival fishing videos
Doesnt matter what the subject keep em coming!
Keep Smilin!!!!
Are the flat rocks in the Etsy store or amazon store ? lol. Great content as always.
Shipping is a b**ch.
Awesome, so simple a caveman could do it.
Thanks Corporal
That should be on a shirt “bbq in the driveway where it’s safe “ hahahahaha
LMAO, back in the 70's, we used to do this on the American River in northern California, we used big slightly domes smooth surface river rocks to cook our hamburgers, it was wonderful because the grease always rolled off the Rock and into the fire.
Can't wait for this new series!! Thanks Corp!!
Great video Cpl. Love these simple videos
As a marine corps veteran who was a cook, this is good to go. Never had to use the cave nan hot plate, but I would love to try it. 🫡👍
The area you've been camping in lately is a BEAUTIFUL piece of land. You are definitely living the life.
Bushcraft Blackstone Griddle 😎
I'm a little disappointed. You used the phrase "around the outside" several times, but not once did you put the marshall Mathers around the outside... around the outside twist on it!!!! Maybe next time. Thanks for all your hard work to keeping us schooled up👍
Great stone griddle! 👍
Used this technique several times. Works great!!!
Hopi Indian style was putting the meat directly on the embers of a log. Charcoal won't hurt anything.
We never get too old to play with rocks! Great video! Also, I’ve eaten ash before, when camping. Didn’t die.
I thought I wanted a skillet, but it turns out that I wanna rock!
Their egos went to factory reset. The disbelief in their faces was priceless. Never underestimate anyone.
That looks like it worked out great, thanks Corporal
Glad i just ate out here in the National Forrest.
Ive done similar when my family had much more property. Also did stick biscuits.
I lucked out on rocks and had a little Fred Flintstone stove. Cooked Canadian Bacon/Ham on it and had wompum biscuits over a larger fire.
Gotta do that stuff again..thanks for the reminder..😎👍
Shawn, you never disappoint with your videos, Thank You!
Great technique! Only caution is to be careful about using stream rocks because they can crack from heat or even explode.
Nice and slow to dry them out. Backyard scientist did a video on exploding rocks.
Cooking with corporal! Love it..... thanks for all your hard work bro.
Love it Corp. Thank you sir. You are the BEST in the business.
Thank you for all your efforts. Hope the show goes well. 👍🏻
I used to cook a similar way when I was in the Corps myself during my deployment in the Gulf War. I'd set it below ground level with an air tunnel. I appreciate your time and effort making this for us. See ya Sunday.
I love the cooking Corp. Keep up the good work.
Pleasure learning useful skills from you yet again !
Great idea!!
I also enjoy cooking in my own backyard, backyard cookouts are great.
good thing my backyard is 100 acres
Bbq in driveway...😅 love the sarcastic Witt. Thanks for midweek video. Catch ya Sunday
Did this as a part of my survival merit badge. Was hoping you'd catch a fish for a little forest surf n turf!
Thanks Corporal!
Hello brothers! I'm Alex and I live in a cave and I'm showing this but this guy is a total hottie, better videos than mine….😎
I've said it before and I'll say it again.... make any video you want, I'll watch it. I've learned bucketloads from watching this channel. 😃
most dont have this attitude and cant bare to watch
@@recall5811 well then it's their loss. I'm 62 and still learning.
That opening scenery shot was beautiful. Reminds me of the back woods where I grew up in Mass. but yours is just much more lush and undisturbed. Guessing you don't hear the constant drone of a State highway either! ...still miss that place all these years later
My wife and I love your feature rich videos. We watch the old ones and the new ones, at least 2 a day. Where other channels do a video on a single skill and drag it out , you incidentally include multiple skills, and you always make it entertaining . One other thing, I always had a mental block when it came to knot tying. But watching your videos and seeing you use a simple set of knots repeatedly, I now have the tools I need at my fingertips to complete a task. Keep up the outstanding work..oh and my wife wants to see your son do more videos..maybe one where you pretend you are injured and he needs to provide first aid , shelter etc. With that being said, I'll catch you..next time.
lol...bbq in ur driveway...sweet
Bring back final thoughts!!!
Corporal’s Kitchen !
That cooking..... Rocks! ^-^
love camp fire cooking. I will say rocks can explode on the fire. I have been around when one acting as a fire block went off as a grenade. I cook on the coals after seeing that.
Yep!
Two Y sticks in the ground and two straight sticks through the meat.
Allows more positions for roasting all around.
Scares the shyt outa people ay.
We've put a tin of baked beans buried in the centre and herd the coals around...
It's rainin' beans... Farrrkin' hot beans!!!
A mate form high school put a tea spoon of fuel in the incinerator to get it going... One match and the next day he came to school with a frier fringe haircut and no eyebrows or eyelashes...
I was there when he did it. Never laughed so hard in my life.
Interesting,i used to just build up my fire then let it build up hot coals then slide my flat rock into the hot coals then cook my meat but i will give this a try . I sure hope those rocks from the creek didnt go Boom after the video.
Good looking steak. Thanks again..
Steak cooked to perfection on a rock, excellent! Thanks for another great video.
Used to do this all the time growing up in the NWT canada while fishing and I leave it there for the next guy or for when I come back
