Hi! I'm writing this comment for say some things. I'm a italian guitar student, and I have 13 years old (this is the profile of my father, I'm the daughter, Ari.) I play the guitar from three years, and I love this David Gilmour's solo. I cry all the time when it starts, I'm very sensitive about music, and when Gilmour starts with the first bending, I get shivers. My father loves this solo too, so he begged me to learn it and play it for him. I lerned the first part, and for me is so difficoult, beacouse I use subtitles to understand the things you say ( you talk english so well and so fast for an italian teenager😅). You teach very well, and I love your guitar. Is a Fender Stratocaster, right? I have a black Ibanez grx40, but I love Fenders. I hope this comment made you happy, because even though I'm from another country I'm very happy to follow this lesson, and I also hope you laughed to see this endless message from a 13 year old girl who tried to write something intelligent.😂😂🙄

Just the right amount of detail for an experienced player. Thanks! I think I will attempt to play this.

Just Subscribed…I love how you demo / instruct. I started playing all the way back to 1966… I was actually quite good until the US Military got in my way. In 1969 I enlisted during the Vietnam Nam Era (11E2T Sheridan Tanker). I lucked out and was assigned to Germany. I got out in Dec 1971 and became a Los Angeles County emergency Paramedic. I use to fly with the County Air Division (my future wife (still married)). One day I thought why sit in the back of the helicopter when I can sit in the front. The rest was history, I went to a recruiter and said I want to return back into the Army and go to Warrant Officer academy followed by Flight school. I applied and passed all of the rigorous testing and went back in 11 Jan 1980 (got married 5 Jan. I retired in 1997 as a Senior Warrant Officer / Blackhawk Combat Pilot. Jump back to 1975. My Father was a Classically Trained Pianist (He had a Steinway Grand Piano) what I would give to have that Classic Grand! In 1975 I actually found (absolutely true story Sir) a Hammond B3 with Leslie 122 Speaker that this old lady had in Torrance California. Her husband bought it brand new wayyyyyyy back in the day. They had it in their living room and it was never moved. I looked at and said Omgosh I have to buy this, she let it go for $2800 with the Leslie. It was a steal, it was in mint condition and not one scratch or wine glass stain. I had to mover to my home in the San Fernando Valley and here is the good part…. I searched for an experienced Hammond Technician and Xrays thing I found this old fella in his 70’s who worked in the Hammond factory back in the day. He charged my I think $250 to tear it down and rebuild the guys, oil bays tubes the works. That sucker had a mean Jon Lord (Deep Purple) Growl (you know the sound) Unfortunately we were assigned to Augsburg Germany just west of Munich Germany and could not take the Hammond. I sold it to a Great Gospel Black Church in Texas for what I paid for it. I was sad to g]watch it go. The Paster saw my ad at a music store and bugged me x 6 months and I said Nope just cant sell it. Then one day I had orders he called and I said it is yours Paster. He brought his entire Gospel Choir and Organist and they rocked out in my living room what I would have given for an iPhone 13 Pro Max..
OK point to this Post. I like your style Brother… I still have $12 K worth of keyboards and guitars. I am bored chitless and want to get back into playing. It will be somewhat of an uphill battle. I am a big Fan of Guitar Techniques. I hope you are familiar buy maybe not. Great Magazine, Comes with a DVD with all backing tracks and th mag has spot on Tabulature Kelly thank you for your musical background and the time you give here. wish I could take you out for a few hours in a Blackhawk I would have you flying it in 30 minutes GUARANTEED. I was an Instructor Pilot and Instrument flight examiner. I took my daughter (17 at the time) in an Vam Huey and she was flying it in literally 5 minutes. Was a natural. I sent her to College and she got her Commericial Instrument FAA License unfortunately the glamor of NYC cut that short (she became a Professional Model. She now works in Malibu Ca and is a General manager of a Class Weed Shop lol
Thank you for doing what you do. Music is my life I’m into Epic bug fan of Pink Floyd hate. God Bless Brother

Thank you again for this awesome lesson. After several days of working on it I finally got it note for note. What a great beautiful solo to have under my belt I love David Gilmour for that reason. For his incredibly melodic soloing. I would rather learn this than shredding…And I’ve always wanted to learn this but there was never a good lesson. This is going to be one that I’m gonna practice regularly so I can play it on demand

Great lesson thank you so much. You can borrow my Gold top Les Paul P90 anytime you want. Just come to Denver, I have a big house, and I'm an excellent cook, Mexican food is my specialty right now.

Are you using BIas FX 2 for the compression and tone on this song? This is really sweet sounding tone for the song. Thanks!

Pretty much takes all your arm and finger strength to get that one up there. That's a big old bend for sure.

That’s a pretty long way off really. Gilmour doesn’t play it like that at all.
