I own a 1986 Porsche 928s 32valve manual with a short shifter. 180k miles and still going strong.

I'm kind wondering if that's my old car... I was in Gig Harbor WA, and was the second owner of the chocolate brown, with phone dial, manual Trany. Sold it when I bought a Boxter S. I put a couple of low restriction US type mufflers. Used to autocross, and had a good time walking around the cones with all the torque. As I recall Vin last 3 digits was like 280 or so.

Is 3k for a 1978 porsche 928 gts coupe a nice deal? It's the 5 speed manual, it looks a little neglected.

Majority of 928's from 78 and 79 were manual, very few automatics. 1980 and later is when more automatics were produced than manuals. I too own a 78 5 speed with pasha interior....loving it!!

Oh my. sounds terrible. I had a mint 1986 928S that sounded so good and was fast. Cars in this condition go for $5000

That is one noisy damn car and the interior really looks trashed.
I had a friend had one with the automatic. And it was nice and not noisy at all.

I agree...the interior ,only a mother could love! LOL As far as the noise, yeah, it is creating quite a racket, dont recall that being normal

Early 5 speed manuals had synchro issues, and 219BHP. Slow as dogs and too many gremlins and electrical issues. Get a 1987 S4 and newer. Much faster and better all around cars.

Whoever messed with the interior should be water boarded. What a travesty.
