I owned a manual 1992 928 GT for 2 years and stupidly sold it before I went overseas. I miss that car.... I find myself watching these videos and realising I miss it more than any of my ex girlfriends.

I've owned my 928S (manual) since 1988, use to use it as an everyday driver till the late 90'S were it became the second car and used for special events and trips, around 2000 the car was use very infrequent and went into dry storage. I still own it now and am currently having the 928S bought back to life and hope to have her back on the road next year. Fingers crossed

As a Space-Age enthusiast, this is my all-time favorite car design (along with the XJ 220). What a beauty. Glorious V8 sound too. What an underrated car. Fabulous.

Hello Harry! Wonderful choice to pick the 928. I am a German expat in Taiwan and last year I found a 928 S4 with original 32.000 miles in mint condition. I now enjoy driving the 928 here on this beautiful island. Greetings from Taiwan

A friend of mine who had an S4 discribed his 928 like this:
The pace of a Ferrari - the comfort a Bentley and the reliability of a Mercedes Diesel
I think that nails the 928 perfectly.
As I‘m more into watches and looked a few of your videos, I see you wear this Panarei quite a lot - lovely piece of craftsmanship, but quite a hefty big thing...

As a watch and car guy, I loved the drive in the 928 and also noticed the Panerai on Harry's left wrist. Both the car and watch are beautiful beasts.

I like the idea of inviting people on, very Jay Leno and that’s no bad thing. I thought the owner very good and
    passionate.
Loved the car and interesting to find out a bit more about it.
1400 kg and 320 bhp, very respectable even now.👌

It's very Jay Leno, but with enough of its own flavour to be its own thing. The setting of the rattly steel barn and the rainy English roads won't be mistaken for LA any time soon.

Looked like a space ship coming down from the future into 1978 amidst ANY other car from that era. I remember being in awe seeing it at the age of 12. It was rare, only for the rich and famous, or on TV, and with one of those your were the Man. For the kids we were, nothing would beat it.

Porsche offered these engines with twin turbos rated at 750ps as a create engines to the offshore powerboating fraternity, guaranteed by the factory to last a season, unheard of in the early 90's.

I owned one of these in a manual for about 8 years, it was a great car, so comfortable, you could drive a thousand miles, then get back in and do another thousand with no back ache at all. It actually had a passive rear steering system which was unheard of at that time. Thanks for the memories.

Harry was into that 928 roaring through the countryside, and Joel with him, thoroughly enjoying it. The engine sounds fantastic, the manual stick shift provides the visceral control over the powerful V8, it's an amazing car, it's a Porsche and a joy forever.

absolutely - to pull up next to an Aston Martin in (at least) the 928 S4 is not a feeling of 30+ years difference...these 928 S4+ do still look really modern; which, interestingly, I've heard harms their value in that they don't look 'vintage' !

Fabulous review Harry. I had one of the GTS versions back when I lived in the US. One of my friends had a BMW 850sci - fabulous car - and another friend: Steve had a 1996/7 993 turbo S. Many fond memories. I regret selling my 928. I've owned a dozen cars in my life and this was the absolute most reliable car I've ever owned. Aside from regular maintenance, I had to replace the windshield wiper motor.
    Fabulous car.... Absolutely fabulous....

Best car review vid I've seen. And I'm not a big Porsche fan in general, though this one is a no brainer. As the owner says, the V8 and manual gearbox are a classic combination. But what I really admire is how they separated the engine and the box to optimise the weight disrtibution. Far better than the 911 layout which I've really never liked.
Your vids are in general also better than anything ever on TV. Well done Harry and team. Very professional. I'm sure I recognise that part of the country too. Great roads.

You've already got cars you can use (the runners up?) and if the other owners are as knowledgeable as this one, it could be an interesting break from the great videos you already do. I first became aware of the 928 when I was off sick from primary school in 1979 and there was a children's science programme on the TV talking about the flexible rear bumper. I purchased a 1986 Porsche 928 32 valve manual transmission with magnaflow exhaust in 1999 and still gives me goose pimples every time I start her and backup from the garage.

Still a great looking car. When they came out I was 10 years old & it blew me away at the time with it's avantgarde styling & body coloured moulded bumpers & the rear end treatment, it was different to everything else. My father's company car at the time, a Mk. 2 Escort with it's chrome bumpers looked positively archaic next to these lol. I had a cutaway drawing poster on my bedroom wall too.

Always, when you start an engine, Firstly Wait about 10 seconds, to get the Oil Pressure raised to the working level/state/pressure !!! ! !!! Thanks for the video :-)

The 928 is definitely Porsche's best ever, the only with a V8. I last saw one in 2008 at St. Joe's Dr's garage.

Really good film, you're always a passionate and articulate man Harry, but the owner was great too. Just a pure enthusiast, knowledgeable, yet very humble and likeable. Really enjoyed this.

I appreciate Harry choosing this car over the other cars like the CGT. This is a truly interesting story and car and it is not just another poser car enthusiast, listing the same scripted lines, like all the CGT videos seem to be.

I had no idea that these engines had such low power output in relation to the capacity. Funny how time softens one's opinions though; I hated the 928 when it was current, but quite like them now.
