I bought the re-release with the alternate paint, in 2006 for my eldest son, just before I deployed to Iraq. It went through a lot of punishment over the years. My younger son, "inherited" it, when my eldest lost interest in Transformers. My younger finally finished it off last summer. I cannot believe how long it lasted in the possession of two boys notorious for not taking care of their toys. I regret not buying one for myself, at the time. But I'm glad my boys got years of enjoyment from it. It's sad that Hasbro doesn't make them like this anymore.
I like how the blaster looks like the Energon blaster from Energon. You know that gun that he only used for 20 seconds and yet was so important for some reason.
@@seant1326 rushed job I believe... at least the series this Optimus came from didn’t have a rushed job and did it’s best to make the dub good and potentially cutting out some fat from the original (mostly things that seem to not make sense like Cybertron being sucked into the black hole in the first Japanese episode)
Oh the memories. On of a slew wish didn't sell but space was needed. Galaxy Force/Cybertron had some fun figs and actually had gimmicks and articulation that wasn't halted for it.

In my opinion it is one of the best Optimus that have come out, regardless of the deficiencies that it has compared to the current ones, such as the articulation. Cybetron really was one of the best toy lines we've had in the franchise. Very good review
This was my favorite version of prime that I ever owned as a kid. I had armada energon cybertron and one of the first animated primes but cybertron was always my favorite
This was hands down the best unicron trilogy optimus in my opinion. Armada was a brick and energon was a spindly mess unless you had him in super mode or combined with either wing saber or omega supreme

I was moving a while back and found him in a box I stored with some other ones and ended up goofing around with him while taking a break lol.
This was the best Optimus Prime I owned for years way back when I got him in 2005. I can't remember who dethroned him as top new Optimus Prime but it was a hard fight for that spot.

That looks like a great figure! I would have like seen a comparison to Siege 'Galaxy Upgrade' Optimus Prime, but it would have probably been too much bot to fit in the shot with both of them. Great review of an excellent figure. Oh and his cyber key was a dark blue with an autobot symbol in the center with matrix handles sculpted on the sides.
Bought him new when i was just dipping my toes back into collecting, thought he was a good toy, but now with hindsight i appreciate him even more. Its a great toy and stands next to my MP04 in the Hall of Primes (my display cabinet). Hes even more ridiculously awesome with Wingsabre and Leobreaker.

Also loved your Energon Galvatron review. What great Transformers! Better, more robust plastics, beefier, larger, lights, sounds, etc! As the old saying goes; "They don't make 'em like they used to." I enjoy the current Siege/Earthrise/Kingdom lines and they are good! But man, a lot of these older TF's had a lot of character and you got a lot more for the money.
Excellent review, brother! THIS was a great figure back then, and STILL today, that's for sure...! Usually, as I get newer/better(?) versions of figures in my collection, I'll sell off older figures that were good for their time, BUT maybe don't meet the new standard of figures, (either aesthetically, articulation, or whatever), but this figure is one of those few that maintains that staying power. He's BIG, like a PMOP, but better articulated, and has a fairly unique look in every mode, which is also cool. I picked up a good MANY figures from Armada, Energon (NOT so many), and Cybertron (Even fewer), at the time they came out, but the designs just seemed to get further away from what I wanted with my Transformers, and eventually, I sold off the vast majority of my UNICRON Trilogy figures, and replaced a few of the keepers with G3 versions which were more articulated and took up LESS space, and had fewer balance issues... THIS guy stayed... BOTH of the versions I had found, are STILL in my collection. I still have others, like Energon Megatron and Universe Dropshot, for example, even Armada Jetfire, Overload, & Tidalwave, or Energon Starscream, Slugslinger & Mirage, but most were sold and/or replaced... Seeing him again, makes me think that I MIGHT just use one of these versions as my TFPrime upgrade Optimus instead of tracking down the weird flying dump truck looking version near the series end... He's Cybertronian looking and flies and has massive firepower, so why not? It's also easy to SEE WHY this mold was used by SO MANY customizers to build their custom Combiner characters of Motormaster AND Onslaught, with THIS Prime as the base figure... (YES, they FULLY combined!) And dude, were THOSE awesome!!! I'm STILL contemplating doing the Motormaster cab/bot using a third incomplete version I picked up for that purpose... 😈😵😁 As for the Siege Galaxy Upgrade Optimus... Well, I had hopes, but not that high, lol, and Hasbro did an OKAY job with that figure, and the DNA kit DID help, BUT it's gonna take a MUCH BETTER version to bump the Original out of my collection. The Siege version is in my collection, but I'd really prefer an OS/KO version with some necessary fixes. I get what they were trying to do with it, but he's just way too small as a figure to do WHAT I WANT him to do in my collection. I doubt Hasbro will ever waste a Commander class slot to revisit that figure, but I guess we can hope... Just like I HOPE we get a Titan class Tidalwave retooled from the upcoming Ark figure... THAT would be cool... (And no, he DOESN'T need to combine with CW Armada Megatron... He should JUST BE a big @$$ robot that turns into a flying aircraft carrier of destruction!!). Great job on this one for sure though! As always, I enjoyed watching it! (I usually don't get to watch premieres, because RUclips doesn't like to alert me most of the time... I have the Galaxy Force version of this guy. Its the only Unicron figure I have but you're right. He is huge! Definitely a back of the shelf bot to fill in backdrop with those wings. 😂
I'm envious how your Optimus Prime isn't loose in the hips because that is where the main breakage point is for this guy. The ratchet gears break the plastic on the inside and make him very unstable in super mode...just like mine

As a 9 yo kid, when I first saw this toy on RUclips I vowed to one day get him. Now I'm 24 and managed to find this guy on eBay. Paid 90 for him and I can say, without a doubt, I feel like I underpaid. This is the best optimus prime hands down. The removable face plate, gimmicks, height. Its just a pure, fun, and amazing toy. Yes, I played with him even though im fully grown. The figure made kid me come out. This figure would NEVER be made today due to the insane quality and features. Hasbro truly doesn't make them like they used to anymore

The fire truck is supposedly of earth design in the year 2030... except the trailer portion based on the scan he took but it seems he isn’t too out of place since humans only questioned if the truck had a driver, he could both absorb water from bodies of water or suck up an entire giant reservoir under a collapsing mountain that apparently if the mountain collapsed “this place would look like a big ole puddle no one would be able to tell there was ever a town here in the first place” though I think it was stated somewhere he was able to convert the water into hydrogen and oxygen. So Optimus in the series many times fired water out of his cannons heck 2nd episode had him put out a forest fire The Matrix not being able to be held is fairly accurate, he only ever opened his chest to let the matrix float out to unleash its not really established energies to allow Vector Prime’s warp gates to go from planetary range to i want to say intergalactic range though that is inferred since they never outright state that’s why, oh and it was used to supplement the energies of a Cyber Planet Key once when they needed extra power to be channeled into the Omega Lock So yeah as one can tell I grew up with this Optimus Prime and he is my absolute favorite with the coolest silhouette any Optimus prime has ever had. As I grew older and watched more giant robot series I found the Brave Series which Transformers in the 2000’s homages a lot which made me have an even greater appreciation for this design since it’s designed in a style similar to the Braves especially probably the most well known one The King of Braves GaoGaiGar. I thank you so much for reviewing Cybertron toys, there are not enough modern reviews of those amazing toys. Oh, I am so happy you call it a Cyber Key since that’s what they call it in the show with Cyber Planet Key being special physical objects that carry major portions of primus’s spark
I actually used to have that type of Optimus Prime when I was actually a kid and I took very good care of it but then when I had to move I lost it I don't know how I lost it but I did and I've been trying ever since to get him back again it was my most favourite to play with he had lights and sounds and everything he was a perfect quality I even loved his fire truck jet mode it was really fun to play with but when I finish playing with them I just lie put them back on my shelf we're all of my Transformers stayed but then when we had to move I lost him I lost my G1 Optimus Prime I lost all of my Optimus Prime's I lost every single Transformer I had I even made up a story where G1 Optimus Prime Cybertron Optimus Prime or as I like to call call them sirens keep our Optimus Prime it was fun in Darien interesting but now I cannot do the stories anymore because it's very hard to find the Cyber key power Optimus Prime

Did anyone else notice through out the entire video the red on prime keeps changing from a saturated red to a desaturated red? Not complaining just wondering what caused it
@@PatriotPrimeReviews try to find nemesis breaker or Leo prime, they work basically the same, I remember that Leo Prime’s on EBay aren’t too hard to find at least with everything still attached to the toy for less than 50 (maybe less than 30 but I grabbed one of them recently) so you can at least show savage claw mode, kinda wish Wing Saber was repainted and rereleased like Cybertron Defense team hotshot and scattorshot were
The cartoon wasn’t poorly animated all things considered, action was good and a lot of movements had proper weight attached to them with some very good fights while not needing to use 2d transformers to make scenes look epic
16 years later and this figure still holds up as one of the best Prime figures ever made!

Transformers Cybertron was my all time favorite Transformers series. I have this figure as well as Megatron from this series. Love them both.

I actually used to have that type of Optimus Prime when I was actually a kid and I took very good care of it but then when I had to move I lost it I don't know how I lost it but I did and I've been trying ever since to get him back again it was my most favourite to play with he had lights and sounds and everything he was a perfect quality I even loved his fire truck jet mode it was really fun to play with but when I finish playing with them I just lie put them back on my shelf we're all of my Transformers stayed but then when we had to move I lost him I lost my G1 Optimus Prime I lost all of my Optimus Prime's I lost every single Transformer I had I even made up a story where G1 Optimus Prime Cybertron Optimus Prime or as I like to call call them sirens keep our Optimus Prime it was fun in Darien interesting but now I cannot do the stories anymore because it's very hard to find the Cyber key power Optimus Prime

@@PatriotPrimeReviews try to find nemesis breaker or Leo prime, they work basically the same, I remember that Leo Prime’s on EBay aren’t too hard to find at least with everything still attached to the toy for less than 50 (maybe less than 30 but I grabbed one of them recently) so you can at least show savage claw mode, kinda wish Wing Saber was repainted and rereleased like Cybertron Defense team hotshot and scattorshot were

One of my favourite Primes, and a return to form after Energon, too bad the cartoon was so poorly animated
The cartoon wasn’t poorly animated all things considered, action was good and a lot of movements had proper weight attached to them with some very good fights while not needing to use 2d transformers to make scenes look epic
