This movie was hilarious- and had all the edge Air was missing. I don’t understand Dave’s underwhelmed appreciation. I’m recommending this to all my friends and want to see it again. It’s a solid 8 at the least. The juxtaposition of the characters was perfect.
Just got back from the theater seeing Blackberry, it was actually much better than I expected it to be (even with Jay's distracting hair). Tetris was very disappointing, I had high hopes for it. But another recent movie that shares a similar theme, that in my opinion blows them both away ,is Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game. And Christie, you would like it, it's short! :)
Why isn't Glen howarten getting more roles he's brilliant in it's always sunny. It's amazing how far the cell phones had gone to be like mini computers
I loved every second of this film. Howerton's performance was electric. His energy engaged my fight or flight response very similar to uncut gems or everything everywhere all at once, and I was glued to the screen for the entirety of the film. I was late to the crackberry game. I didn't get one until 2010 when the Storm 2 dropped. No other device has ever duplicated those same feelings of status and awe, as my Blackberry. With the storm 2 being the less buggy version of the first iteration of the storm which was a disaster, I truly felt like it had the potential to compete with the iPhone. I had my phone, texting, email device that held music (without the need of iTunes), videos, and had apps for Facebook, twitter and RUclips, all on a big screen device that had cool haptic feedback. There was nothing else I needed. Also, as a Canadian, it was nice to not worry about incurring huge roaming charges, when using my Blackberry on US networks, simply because Blackberry compressed so much of the data. It cost pennies to stay connected to home, while travelling. And lastly, my fave blackberry feature, BBM felt so cool and exclusive. I begrudgingly jumped ship in 2012 for an android phone, as my BBM contact list dwindled due to friends also jumping ship for android or apple. It had always plagued me how Blackberry went from the top selling device in the world, to complete irrelevancy. I had been highly anticipating this film's release, and it did NOT disappoint. I loved the inside baseball look into the beginning and end of the company, but I also enjoyed being let in on at&T's heavy influence behind the launch of the iPhone and of course the shift in mobile carrier landscape, with their focus on data. Ten out of ten would highly recommend.
On the Always Sunny podcast, I remember them sort of roasting Howerton for the the bald head. I saw and was like " when WTF did that happen?!?". Now I know 😂.
As a huge fan of Howerton that watches the Always Sunny podcast every week finally seeing why he went bald for so long up in Canada is hilarious! Glenn Howerton, and really the entire Sunny cast, are incredibly underrated acting talents. It’s a shame that this film is releasing on the same day as Charlie Days directorial debut Fools Paradise. I want to see both. Do you all have any inkling to review Fools Paradise? Love to hear your thoughts on it. Seems like an interesting yet silly romp.
Looking forward to Blackberry. #Q10 Love this moment in the trailer, "You said they were the best engineers in the world!" "I said they were the best engineers in Canada." Silence.
Interesting to see they included the whole Penguins to Hamilton NHL thingy (which led to one of the most hilarious exchanges on the number one sports radio show in the country at the time and can be found on RUclips titled "Bob McCown vs Doug Maclean") lol
Blackberry came and went so fast. Who cares about how it came about? Christy are you under the weather? Sound a little sinusy. Get well soon. Irony alert: Blackberry movie commercial popped up the middle. And for the last time regarding Air, there is no such thing as too much Sister Christian.
Glengarry Glen Howerton haha
Ha, nicely done.

So fun, right?
Probably just a bit too old.

Exactly Dave… your audience beckons !!!
Oh he'll always come back 😄
DAVE!
YES!
"It's kinda long" says Dave.😏
The movie, that is!
@@BreakfastAllDay That's what I meant, LOL
Dave puts me to sleep.
A new player has entered the arena: welcome Dave White.
He's here!

He's really good in this!

Thanks for your thoughts! Glenn Howerton is really great in this.
Just saw it. One of the Best Movies of the Year for sure.
Glad you dug it!
I want to have a double feature of this and Charlie Day's new film. Excited for both!
Right, they both open on Friday!
I've seen both back to back in the theater!
Missed opportunity to call this movie what people actually called a Blackberry: Crackberry.
They mention that nickname in the movie!
On the Always Sunny podcast, I remember them sort of roasting Howerton for the the bald head. I saw and was like " when WTF did that happen?!?". Now I know 😂.
That's funny! He is committed.

Planning on catching up with it next week! May 12 is jammed. But we're curious about that one too. Thanks Langley!
Come back, DAVE, and stay with us (in creepy voice)!
More Dave please!
Always!
I love that we got to see Alonso’s husband Dave. We need a 3 piece interview set with Christy, Alonso and Dave.
He is always a delight!
I saw Air in the theater and I hated it. I streamed Blackberry from my living room and I loved it.
Blackberries remind me of when guitar hero was popular. How time flies by.
It does seem quaint!
I'm a huge fan of Matt Johnson, loved this movie. This was a better version of that show Halt and Catch Fire.
I don't drink coffee but man that is a cool mug Dave was drinking from. Big Sonic Youth fan here!
Dave has good taste.
this film is gonna be my first alamo drafthouse experience this friday so pumped!!! they just opened in STL
Great, have fun!
Would you say that this is the "Walk Hard" of the groundbreaking invention genre?
Ha, not really. But that's a funny idea.
@@BreakfastAllDay I wonder what product would be a good fit for that premise
When's the Motorola Bravo movie coming out? The sequel can be Bravo Express 🤣
43770 Breakfast All Day 143
Oh that's gonna be part of the Motorola Cinematic Universe, they're gonna have the entire Motorola mobile line-up there!
Everyone loves to hate horrible people. Looking forward to this, especially Glen's villainy. Thanks for the review! 💝
Thanks Veda! Let us know what you think.
I just want to know why they called it a blackberry.
That's a good question! They show Jay Baruchel's character making a list of possible names, but BlackBerry isn't on it.
Yay you are finally watching succession
Yes! Almost done with season 2.
Linoleum breakfast knife all day
Indeed!
Looking forward to Blackberry. #Q10
Love this moment in the trailer,

"I said they were the best engineers in Canada."
Silence.
um, where is the audiobook featuring Dave White BC i would subscribe to it…velvet, i tell you.
Right? Or the phone book.
It really pained me to switch from my last blackberry to the iphone 7+ because my company had terminated our lease relationship with blackberry.
People loved them for a long time!
Interesting to see they included the whole Penguins to Hamilton NHL thingy (which led to one of the most hilarious exchanges on the number one sports radio show in the country at the time and can be found on RUclips titled "Bob McCown vs Doug Maclean") lol
Don Cherry is in this movie! That's how Canadian it is.
First Air Jordans, then Tetris, now this. What’ next? Slinky: the Movie.
Next is Eva Longoria's Flamin' Hot Cheetos movie!
This sounds like the perfect movie to watch on an iPhone.
The segment about Balsillie trying to buy a NHL team and move it to Hamilton is true (he tried three times in fact) ...
Yes! One of many weird parts of the story.
6:32 "Oh my god, it's a mirage, I'm telling y'all, it's a sabotage... 🎶"
Yeah, there was that.
@@BreakfastAllDay No I mean it looks like the Beastie Boys "Sabotage" video lol 😂😂
@@tlovehater Oh Jay Baruchel completely looks like a Beastie Boys character in this movie.
