my top row from f1 to f9 stopped working. I connected it to another mac computer and the problem persists. Is it over? it's definitely not a clean up key thing. they keys press alright but are not recognized in the keyboard viewer on the screen.

I just had to add a cable from the mac to my keyboard -type one word and then remove it - then it was connected again
