    i feel uke could turn and make a counter technique, don't he? i can't see a strong control on the opposite shoulder. what do you think?

      The control of uke depends mainly on twisting uke's hand with the grip of it. That limits uke's ability to move. Without twisting uke's hand, there would not be much control, I feel, nor would it be easy to make the throw at the end of the technique. If uke is able to spin around when tori does, which happens sometimes, then tori needs to shorten the technique at a second try or shift to something else. It is important not to spin around too close to uke, to avoid that happening. Also, uke should be taken out of balance in the initial move. That helps, too. There's a lot that can go wrong :D

      hello Master, thank you for responding! If I may, I'd like to add a point my Master emphasizes us in order to prevent uke from turning: stretch the whole arm paying particular attention to uke's elbow so that it won't close. Thank you again! I really like your videos and shorts.

      @@dionis87 true that. The elbow is an important key when taking control.
