Everything is a giant sports sedan (Tesla, Taycan, Lucid) or some crossover or oversized compact bullshit like the eGolf or Mini SE. Having Lotus and Alpine bring a true sports EV is awesome and a unique position in the market.
      >ICEs run on gasoline (petrol), so of course they're not mutually exclusive.
Well, what I mean is if petrol/gasoline goes away, ICEs running ethanol, methanol, and whatever other blends of eFuels that might come won't care. IndyCar has run thousands of races without fossil fuel at this point. Petrol isn't important to the future of ICE. It actually probably shouldn't be.

Very good looking car and clearly sits well as a baby Evija. My only minor gripes would be the rear looks a little bloated on the sides, and I always prefer to see an engine not an engine cover. But these are small things. Well done Lotus, hope it does well for them.

@Martin Cayman/Boxster, yes. More specifically, the 4-cyl competes with the S and the 6-cyl competes with the GTS. But those cars are also in striking range of the Corvette. Unlike the 718, though, the Corvette tries to sell on the image of "baby supercar", and this new Lotus does that infinitely better while not being outside the price radius of the various Corvette trims (including the unreleased Z06). And it does it while preserving fun options that the driver can properly enjoy that the Corvette dropped in the pursuit of technical capability that is unusable anywhere that isn't a track.
