    a cool interaction with coveted falcon is to give control of your OWN auras that you've used to frogify or w/e since who owns it doesn't really matter for the effect

    Something to note about Cryptic Coat: It doesn't have an equip ability. You mentioned that it can create a new body if you don't have another around. However, you cannot equip it to another creature without using its enter the battlefield trigger.
    I don't think this really lowers the grade on the card much if at all. it does mean you can't move it around and equip it to whatever creature is most threatening. This lowers it flexibility, makes resetting it cost 5 mana, and requires you to untap to start attacking with an equipped creature again. However, it's still a 3 mana 3/2 unblockable creature which can potentially flip over to upgrade itself, can come back if removed while leaving behind the previous body, and it's even an artifact for decks which care about that.
    Apologies if you already knew about this and I'm misunderstanding you. Since you didn't call this out, I figured it would be good to make sure other realized this as well.

    Conspirency unraveler has an advantage in this particular set i think. Due to the abundance of clues you are less likely to be emptyhanded and even if you sink your mana into cracking clues, it gives you the option to still play whatever you have drawn. Hard to say how relevant all this will be but i think its probably closer to a b.

    Maze gives hexproof to any creature you control with a Vehicle in play, and the Vehicle can protect itself. That sounds great or horrible with Schooner in Standard

    Surveillance Monitor (23:28) I dunno, I kinda agree here but also I kinda don't. On curve this is terrible for its face value. You wont be able to collect evidence on curve. BUT if you are playing on curve and you build around it you do set yourself up to be rewarded by it.
    But just.... it seems kinda.... not enough? I dunno though. Cause so far this set seems very much like its a bit of a slower format. So maybe its B worthy

    11:50 Will disguised creatures still be enchanted after flipping? And do you get to look at the facedown creature before shuffling them into the library?

    • @lollars1998
      @lollars1998 7 месяцев назад +1

      Enchantments, counters. Even wether or not it is suspected all stay on the creature. Since it never leaves the battlefield. And i believe if a face down creature moves zones, you're allowed to see what it was.

    Behind the Mask on an unblocked Ornithopter is +4 damage, which could close out the game in some decks. A decent combat trick if you have a bunch of 0/0 creatures with +1/+1 counters on them. Also makes Batterskull into an 8/7 or Kaldra Compleat into a 9/8 until the end of turn.

    I think Reenact the Crime might be stronger than it looks, because it says "card" not "permanent". Unless I'm mistaken, card means any spell. So if your opponent casts removal, so do you; same with a big draw spell, recursion, etc. I think it might fit best in a self mill deck, as a pseudo second copy of your best card, in case you mill it.
    It's still highly situational and (Blue) mana intensive, but I think the fact it can copy ANY card makes it deserve a little better than a D. I dunno how much better than that, but I think most Blue decks won't mind it.

    While Intrude on the Mind looks similar to FoF, it's actually an inversion of the effect . In the latter, an opponent makes the piles and you select, which is far superior in most cases. Examples of the former include Epiphany at the Drownyard and Steam Augury, neither of which saw any real play to the best of my recollection. While IotM offers additional upside in the form of a 1/1-5/5 flyer, giving the opponent a high degree of control over the outcome always feels pretty dubious to me. My personal estimate would place it closer to a C, but I look forward to seeing how it shakes out.

    • @NizzahonMagic
      @NizzahonMagic  7 месяцев назад +6

      There is a 0% chance it's a C. Your opponent gets the choice, it's true -- but you make the piles. You're going to end up netting cards and getting a body at instant speed no matter.
      Maybe it's not a bomb, but there's no way a card like that is a C.

      @@NizzahonMagic Fair enough. It could just be that I've felt burned by most of these so-called successors to FoF, but I'll maintain my objection to the A+ ranking until we receive any significant data to the contrary.

      @@NizzahonMagicAlso, you mentioned a 2/2 flier or 3/3, the best outcome is often 1 or 4, best card + 4/4 with flash or 4 cards and a 1/1 is super powerful no matter your opponents choice. Imo 1/4 split is probably optimal if you find a card that is better than the rest
