Couldn't agree with you more Gaz. I was exactly the same. My coach has been doing exactly the same with me. I'm hitting straighter and further because I have more room to turn. Great video.
This is exactly what i started doing about 3 months ago! this and the correct release! went from a 16 Handicap down to 9.6 and won 3 comps in the process! pity i didn't bring it in earlier in the season!
Watched this after the video with Ange, Bullan rd and Tubes on the camera - I overswing and when I hit it, I bend the left arm but can't control the face - love this and will work on it
Same journey as me - I used to shank wedges in particular due to left arm being bent and since adopted same technique as here hardly ever happens now 😎
Really interesting video Gaz. Literally what I'm working on at the minute. I get to the top of my swing and lift my arms which causes me to over swing. It makes it harder to keep on plane during the down swing. Great video and a useful swing thought to have 👍
That’s my current thought now too, keeping that left arm straight, bombed a 3 wood straight down the middle, first attempt was in the trees though before I thought about it 😅
Nice Gaz, been working on something very similar. When I overswing I just feel like any chance of me getting the contact is pretty much 50/50. I've actually dropped a bit of distance because I'm swinging easier as well but the consistency is massively up. Just bring a bit more speed in then summer 💪
On ur backswing put ur weight in ur left toes and manage ur left heel coming up this will allow u to make a wider rotation but make sure on ur downswing u slam that left heel back down
Great video as always mate 👍 I agree your swing looks much more controlled with the left arm straight feeling. Is this something you decided yourself or was it a coach suggestion? How did you work on this ? Drills ? Keep up the good work 🍻
Strikes are money, my biggest fault is over swinging so al be trying this tomorrow Question with the wide feel, do u feel like ur pushing ur arms/hands as far away from your body as u can to keep keep the arm straight?
I’ve only been playing for 5 weeks. Regardless if your a PGA tour pro or just starting out. Giving another golfer your opinion/advice should be taken on board. People see things different to what you do yourself. On another note this is the way my swing is 3/4 of the way. Every time I do a full swing I slice it big time.

Newcomer to your channel Gaz. 2 sessions at the range and 9 holes putting this into practice has turned my confidence and game around 🙏👍👍
Love how you can clearly explain your swing then back it up when you hit a few shots.
Exactly what I’ve started to do and what a difference it makes, love it gaz! Would love to see an aim point video for putting 👌🏻
Go on gaz lad. Ignore the RUclips tour players. Keep doing what your doing lad. 👍
Left arm straight, left knee at ball stops body sway, best tips I've ever had I'm now a very consistent golfer and love it!!
Great vid Gaz, I flattened my plane a while back , getting more distance and accuracy now !
Just had a lesson today for exactly this problem.
The pause drill is a great way to try and fix it

Saving me a fortune on lessons, cheers shags 👍

I’m struggling with achieving ‘a full swing’ without bending my elbow I’ve noticed, will give this a go on the range this week and see if it helps!

Great video 👍🏼
Does anyone have the link to the lesson where they went through this change?
This winter seems to be the winter of swing fixing... I'm trying to fix my swing in the exact same way the now

Keep up the good work 🍻
I'll give this a shot a the range tonight!
The big difference is you don't cock your wrists as much on takeaway. Swing length never was the main issue.
Need the full 18 match on golf life!
I noticed this on your last vid. Try the same thing after impact with the right arm.
Very similar to how Matt Schaff from Good Good swings it 👍
Amazing carry distance Gaz? Has it increased with the shorter swing? If so, is it a result of better contact or what?
Doing the same with my swing. Shouldn’t you be slightly negative attack angle with a 4 iron?
Strikes are money, my biggest fault is over swinging so al be trying this tomorrow

Same for driver?
smashing it
Hitting it well but id be seriously worried about the spin rate and landing angle on both the 7 and 4

All the gear... half an idea😂😂
Much love Gaz ❤️
