Hopefully youll like the build! This was the original lightning focused build to compliment the Shaman barb and Winter Soldier barb, and next is the DragonDin. You want to do some runs in D4 soon? I know we got some to do in D2R, but down for D4 as well?
So -150 all res is as much as you can take away from a enemy or can you go for more conviction for more damage? I'm just not seeing the damage. It looks like holy shot does a little damage and zeal is doing all of the work
Conviction maxes out at -150, but depending on your gear, and possibly using Lower Res wand/plague merc for lower res proc, you can reduce their resistance even more. The zeal does some damage, but all the lightning damage, especially how Holy shock adds lightning damage to the melee attack, and the pulse damage has an AOE, all the lightning small charms are boosted by holy shock, so it does the majority of the damage.
I built a Tesladin and ran him through normal and nightmare and he was incredibly fun to play. Smashed everything. But now he's on Act 1 Hell and getting folded constantly like a lawn chair. I haven't got runes for Dream gear so I have shelved this guy until such a time as I have better gear for him.
Unfortunately, when it comes to a Playthrough Tesladin setup, it does have a drop off because the pulse lightning damage alone isn't enough for hell difficulty, especially with so much being lightning immune. In that case, for safety, an act 2 holy freeze merc would provide some crowd control and slow things down, and possibly farming countess for runes to make crescent moon would help bring down enemies lightning resistance. However, depending on your gear and what skills youre using, dedicated pits farming, being a level 85 area, may drop you some items you'd need for your tesladin until you could work toward LK super chest/Trav farming. Regardless, it'll get easier, tesladins rely on the holy shock from Dream to allow the skill points to be used to boost the auras fron Dream, and i hope you'll be able to get there sooner rather than later!
Not sure of your build, but it needs work. My tes can sit anywhere in hell and live without play. Most likely your res are low, and second weapon should be cta. Charms help when you're struggling early, I only have 1 sunder, anni,torch, and resist+another skill small charms.

I made two barb builds, one using poison damage, and another using cold damage, and to split up the characters, i made a tesladin for lightning using lightning damage small charms since he already is lightning focused, and then a dragondin with fire damage small charms for the same reasons. I just wanted something that was familiar, but different enough, and help complete the elemental damage themed series i made.
I second this, merce is A1 ice with faith bow fort andys. grief and strings plus all ur gear and misc charms with 3/20s as end goal. Maxed resist fire because I like to switch from hoj dragon dragon or dual dream dragon depending on my mood.
Im using that for a DragonDin build I have coming out, i wanted to split up with one charging, and one teleporting, and the AOE from the DragonDin made more sense to not have him teleport as its greater than this TeslaDin's AOE, so i made him teleporting.
No it isn't. Conviction goes to -150, and the pulses don't immediately kill everything. This is a true zealer with pulse, and melee dmg is the main focus. If you want highest pulse damage u can do Holy shock self wielded
Yes you can put points into sacrifice to make Zeal do more damage, but because the damage was already really good, so i wanted to focus on more attack rating to ensure more likely guaranteed hits. My thought was: high damage is great, but if there's a lot of misses and not as many hits land, the high damage goes to waste, so i put the remaining points into blessed aim, had demon limb for the enchant charges, and now, especially for terror zones, this build will land hits to do the damage to kill everything much easier, and everything within proximity is getting shocked with holy shock and will be easier to kill when fighting them. My goal was to try a different twist on a classic build without changing too much, and being i love melee over caster builds and attack rating is always an issue, i wanted to address it in this build as the pulse damage already is quite strong.
Hate to say, but you just reposted Cooley's Tesladin build with edited items that can't even spawn in the game (left ring and gloves are both 7 mods, glove also misses fixed mod). You can do better. And this build is not off meta by any means, just extremely hard to achieve without an editor.

I dont try copying other people's builds, prior to this video, I had made two other builds using a lot of elemental damage small charms: a barb using Death's Web and 451 poison damage small charms, and a barb using dual Doom berserker axes using cold damage small charms. I wanted to cover builds that could utilize elemental damage small charms, and wanted to not have every one of them be barbs, so I made two barb builds, and then switched to the paladin as he has the two remaining elemental damage type builds with the Tesladin and Dragondin. But with how many seemed to like the barb builds, I ended up making all 4 barb builds with their own elemental damages, while this video and one other stayed privated in the meantime, but this and the dragondin were intended to complete the series/theme originally. I never claimed I created the concept, but the theme with these videos were to make use of the elemental damage small charms, as I hadnt seen many trying to use them without being incredibly niche build concepts, but rather using skilers instead, and I wanted to try something new to myself in concept. The stats on Hero Editor either added or missing, when I create builds, I have some stats on items that can spawn added early when picking gear, and then id adjust them as i focus on specific items to help counter what's lacking. Some stats I unfortunately dont edit out/edit out, I try to do double checks but things fall through the cracks.
You can! However, in comparison to the crescent moon weapon in the video, crescent moon will do better overall. Your 6 facet weapon will add lightning damage, however, crescent moon has a static field proc, ignore target's defense (even if the physical damage was just 1, you still need to at least get a hit for the lightning damage to take effect), IAS, and the chain lightning to add to the AoE damage. Overall, AOE wise, Crescent moon is the better choice, but for purely trying to focus on damage, your weapon would do better.

You can use 4 Facet armor and then just charge around if you're really trying to up the damage, that's what some in other comments in either this video, or my DragonDin video mentioned, but if you're trying to farm areas that require a lot of navigating to get through, such as getting to Mephisto with the Durance of hate level 2 being a bit of a maze, id stick with Enigma, the convenience of moving around better and faster using teleport, IMO, outweighs the extra damage from a 4 facet armor. However, if you're farming in areas with more space to charge through, 4 facet armor will boost your damage quite a bit and Enigma's teleport wont be faster.
Not every build is for everyone, and if this build isnt your style for this character/play style, that's perfectly fine, and thanks for checking the build out anyway. Have fun with whatever builds you prefer playing instead!

I completely understand, and in ways i do agree. The most fun parts of this game are trying to find new ways of playing the game and testing the limits of whats possible, such as having the mercenaries take on Ubers solo, or finding different mechanics to work together to be effective that maybe went unnoticed before. Otherwise yes, there's hardly any new ground to break, but still, i will always love this game and how much fun ive had playing it over the years.
Lol 23 years is nothing. There are games that people still play and enjoy today that have been around for hundreds (e.g. modern chess) or even thousands (e.g. backgammon) of years

I love chess myself, though its rare to find someone who also enjoys it, but D2 has stood the test of time, as far as video games are concerned, and stays relevant and a game many continue to regard as a reason for loving this genre.
@@MrDukeharry I didnt read it as that, but rather a nod to D2's longevity and that it still has people hooked, and some have been grailing since Plugy was made and still are trying to find everything! Its a bittersweet thing to stop playing a very loved game, but life takes runs its course and some dont have the time to continue, hell I barely have 15yrs a week to dedicate to hobbies, but it makes the moments that much more fun because the time is so rare to have.
