- This was my experience when buying my first new ATV ever. I've spent years buying, building, and selling used ATVs so this will be the first one with only me putting the hours on it. I wanted to shed some light on what you can expect when shopping for and buying new a ATV. I also dive into why I chose the YFZ instead of a Raptor (for now).

I paid about the same for my Raptor which I didn’t think was a bad deal. I was torn between the YFZ & Raptor but I thought for being more of a trail rider the raptor was the right choice for now but like ya said would love to own both down the road. I was surprised tho that the YFZ at my dealer was more then the Raptor both the same color.
I wanted a YFZ for many years, finally got one in 22 and love it. I assume you know about the clutch basket--they can explode. Replace it with an 09. There is a great video on youtube comparing different aftermarket pipes on a dyno, RP Race, Dasa, and Rossier. You might want to check that out before getting a pipe. The same guy (Sarmiento Motorsports) also just did an intake shootout.

I've always favored yamaha but oddly the yfz is the only 450 I haven't ridden...I have gotten to ride the only randy savage 450 though thanks for letting me test that out down at brewers!

As I'm sure you're aware, I'm a little familiar with them. So any help I can be, please let me know. Hopefully that first part you "already have" is a cushion clutch basket..........

For me I don’t think they are worth it at this prices , they need different tires and clutch the sec you leave the dealership, I’m not even talking about ltr geometry, but hopefully you will have fun with it
@996turbo they have definitely gone up in price over the years, but I will say: so far just riding it stock has been awesome. And the suspension is good enough that I'll leave it for as long as I can. Any other sport ATV, that would've been a $4-5,000 upgrade as soon as you get home. The clutch, flywheel bolts, and tuning are easy fixes. At least, that's my justification.
@@SQUARE1SpeedChannel I just sold one and picked a 2017 , didn’t even ride it yet hopefully with all the stuff on it , it will turn like the Suzuki.
@996turbo I hear ya. I have the LSR "LTR geo" front end on the Honda. It's way better that stock, but still not quite like a Suzuki.
