Well one the reason it's overdue if you say that is because it depends on how busy the line is, if it's not busy it's not on the list of track replacement
Pretty sure the welded rail comes in 1/4 mile segments - not 1/3 mile. Not a huge discrepancy.
you don't work for norfolk southern like I do so do some research learn about railroad operations be making dumb comments!
when are yall gonna fix that itty bitty bridge on Wilkinson, you can barely drive a power wheels on it.

It's obviously good that safety is being practiced and dangerous tracks are being replaced by safer ones. But I can't help but feel a deep sense of sorrow with this news...my ancestors helped lay these Gastonia tracks... and walked on them everyday for over a century... What happens to the old ties and rails, etc?
I'd give anything to preserve as much of the original tracks material as possible. I just hate to see it just thrown away or buried..
Anyone know what's happening to the old work?
I love seeing the improvements to the United States rail infrastructure that brings much of the goods that we enjoy each day. 🚂🚃🚃🏝
