    Ro's was great back in the day. Homemade onion rings and cherry lemon Sundrop was a staple. Now it's a hot mess.

    Yes gastoni is growing but if you look at downtown Gastonia there's still a lot of city and county offices lawyers Very little shopping whatsoever nothing like back in the 50-60s and seventies

      Those were great days. Unfortunately Gastonia has lost all the great retailers. Doubtful they will ever come back. But great shopping in Lincolnton and hickory

    All that land in Mount Holly and Belmont it will continue to grow Gastonia it's bigger than both of them

    Gastonia prevented many good paying jobs from coming to the area, they protected Textile industry that was low education, low pay and little benefits. then came the one sided Trade Laws and textiles quickly left the area for other countries. Prior to that Textiles was always the fall back to jobs when everything else had laid off workers. Most textile plants were torn down or converted to warehouses or Condos.
