- This Charlotte North Carolina travel guide is from Spring. We walk around downtown Charlotte try out some of the famous Carolina BBQ, then show you all around the Nascar hall of Fame Museum as well as tell some history about Charlotte. If I was to compare Charlotte and Atlanta I would say I would take Charlotte over Atlanta for a place to live.

I agree with the criticism of the city having nothing but it does have a charm in some ways and can be nice
I have lived in Charlotte for 40 years now and haven’t seen anyplace else I’d rather live. Love the trees and other greenery. We are free of severe weather and other natural disasters. Crime has become a problem as the city has grown and traffic is maddening! I have been told 60 people move here every day! With so many new people Charlotte struggles to hold on to it’s original charm and local flavor but new ideas from people coming here will take us into the future hopefully!

Charlotte is a nice city. It’s mostly in North Carolina but the South Carolina border is extremely close by. I love the Carolina States. Mountains to the West and Beaches to the East.

I lived in Charlotte for 3 years. I only left due to not being able to get into a great company there. I love Charlotte and if I got the opportunity to work from home, from anywhere I’d move back in a minute. I met my best friend there so I try to visit every single year. Charlotte will always feel like home to me. I have family and friends in Atlanta and I’d pick Charlotte every time. I hope you were able to see more outside of downtown like South Park, Elizabeth, Dilsworth and Ballantyne. Charlotte is also, a more fit city. So many outdoor parks and to me there’s just as many healthy food options as unhealthy ones. With the mild winters I definitely became more motivated to exercise being that I love the outdoors. See you in April my beloved Charlotte!
You should apply at Dish Network for a work at home position if you like sales. You can make a lot of money at that job for one but you are able to work it in up to 34 states. NC is one of those states.

I've lived in a Charlotte neighboring town for 53 years, and I believe I'm one of the very few that I know that isn't a transplant from elsewhere. But as you've shown, there's good reason for it. Humidity is the only drawback. I have yet to get use to breathing water from April-Sept! But the mild winters make up for it!

Seems to be a very clean, well-kept town.
Born and raised here in Charlotte for 35 yrs and I have yet to ever go to the Nascar Museum. It's nice to see videos of the city as I get to see places I wouldn't otherwise go. Name pronunciation of the streets not too bad either lol.

If I could choose where to live in the US I would definitely choose the Carolinas. Charlotte looks awesome just missing a little more people walking to make it lively.
General Cornwallis was the commanding officer of the British forces that held Charlotte until the Battle of King's Mountain. He eventually retreated from Charlotte to Yorktown where the war ended.

@@laurajohnson9707 I was considering moving to Phoenix. I visited there but decided to stay in Charlotte. Much different vibe. I like Phoenix but it was a little too spread out. Phoenix has a great downtown but hardly anybody was out walking around. I think I would miss that, Charlotte makes better use of the downtown area, more energy.
@@TheTlewis3074 I am getting tired of Phoenix. There is not much to do and we don't have the greenery or the beaches that NC or SC have. Also, the housing prices have gone through the roof. You get more for your buck in Charlotte from what I have been seeing on Zillow.

General Cornwallis was the British General that responsible for the Southern British campaign. He set up head quarters in Charlotte. After his force's defeats in Kings Mountain and Cow Pens, Corwallis was forced on the long retreat to Yorktown where he surrendered his army to American forces.

You pronounced some of the street names incorrectly, but otherwise great video of my hometown. I live in Phoenix, AZ now and miss the green landscape. This makes me homesick.

I know the street he mentioned downtown is called Tryon and not Tyron!!! Also, the mountains in NC are called the Blue Ridge Mountains and not the Blue Mountains.

Yes. Any city is nicer than Phoenix. Phoenix is clean, but has little, to no culture, identity, poorly laid out, and very little relevance. On top of all things mentioned, a now traffic nightmare.

@@KB-tf8vp Lol, its mine too. Its been a LONG adjusgment, and Im looking at relocating. Its getting more crowded here by the year. Phoenix is just one big long strip mall, with spec houses. I couldnt justify paying more than $250k for a home out here, and thats even too much, and more than what these cheap houses here deserve. At least in the places op mentioned, you have greenery.

i'm a little late but i still think late is better than never ! as someone from the charlotte area , ill give some of my favourite things to do here .
• going to hornets games . you don't have to be a huge fan to enjoy them !
• the nascar museum / hall of fame.
• knights games . the minor league baseball team of charlotte always are a good way to pass time !
• south park is a really popular mall on charlotte , so it's a good place to stop and grab some lunch at the food court and such

Seems pretty quiet downtown compared to where I live. Our downtown is crazy...lots of people and tons of traffic. However, if I had to live somewhere in the South it would probably be NC. Charlotte or Raleigh.

Charlotte's uptown business district became a ghost town when the pandemic hit. It's just now - in March 2022 - finally, slowly, coming back to life. This video would have looked a Lot different - with a lot more people around - if it had been filmed pre-Covid.

As with many American cities in the downtown area they are mostly empty.
This is a result of covid. People are now working from home. Activity picks up after work.
