I lived there three years during my late 20s. I moved to Charleston SC, which I like a lot, but still my heart cries. Raleigh is a bubble of happiness, clean, easy to move around and the average American there is usually an interesting person (no surprise when the majority of young professionals work in pharma, banking and IT industry). The night life was amazing (I loved Architect, Cornerstone, Neptune...). I like places with DJ music and so on but it had plenty of choices for anyone (the Warehouse district, very hippie and artistic was great too). I left the city in 2018; I assume traffic increased as the city grew a lot, however the easy mobility was one of the things I loved the most. I should have never left you, Raleigh, where is my youth now? Where is my 2017? I'll always miss you.
I lived in Raleigh for 15 years, good barbecue, some good restaurants, you definitely have to be either an NC-State or UNC fan it seems, and a lot of good golf courses around the area. Otherwise, the summers are too hot, and it's not a place that has a lot going on, somewhat boring compared to bigger and larger cities.
That was cool to see I was born there 51 years ago and never new what it looked like my dad was in the service and was station at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
Very good video, I have been in Raleigh during 2 and haf years. I love this city, be cause it is part of my life, or be, my son and family lives there. God bless N Carolina, God bless USA. Thanks so much.

Love raleigh. Love that you enjoyed it as well. Pink Whitney is a drink that was created by a bostonian though, Ik im getting caught up on lil details but had to get that out lol
I don’t think Raleigh has big city feels. Big city feels is more like New York, Tokyo and other massive Asian cities…….Also Raleigh doesn’t have a complex subway system like the big cities in Asia.
@@IslandHopperTV I was like, "That's Jeff from Arizona!" LOL. I changed my mind about moving to Arizona. I decided to stay on the east coast closer to family, so I'm moving to Raleigh in November. We just moved to Tennessee and is beautiful, but the food is so deferent when what I’m use to it. But seeing your video of Raleigh nc the food looks so delicious. I always wanted to move to nc. So we are 12 hours from nc, I’m thinking seriously nc.
I'm in Minnesota, the most humid state in the lowest 48. I'm being recruited for a job there for electronics and instrumentation. Minnesota is way greener than any state I've been too. Would I like living there?
@@liabooker9480 It was mid afternoon on a Tuesday more than a year ago when most companies and the state government were still nearly all working from home. I can assure you that it's not dead. There are thousands of new apartments downtown and weekday nights are busy while weekend nights are sometimes too busy. FWIW, I have lived downtown for 27 years and it certainly used to be very quiet, but that's no longer the case. It's growing like a weed.
Agreed. I think “vibrant” is the wrong word to describe most American cities. Vibrant is more like the European and Asian cities and New York. Not cities in the southern USA
I left the DC area for Denver. I hate it here. Everything is brown. No nature. People aren't friendly. Too much violent crime. Homes are too pricey. Too many druggies. Hardly anyone I meet even went to college. I may visit Raleigh and if I like it, I'll move the end of the year.
Most places in the south won’t have the excitement of New York and other cities. Raleigh is bland but it has a likable mellowness and one of the better cities in North Carolina.
Love the black history notes! We must not forget our brothers and sisters of color and their importance. Very respectful and appreciated.
Hello from Raleigh, Theres a lot to the city, many different aspects. It is different every hour. God Bless.

Just found out Raleigh was an emerging city a few weeks ago. Coming from the Deep South we never really hear about the Carolinas. Interesting
Excellent video!

Comparing with Charlotte and Raleigh which has the highest crime rate in between both?

Every video I've ever seen of Raleigh depicts it as a ghost town with no one walking on the sidewalk. Where are all of the people?
My exact thoughts.. I am wondering what time he shot this video? This is the only video I've seen of it like a ghost town

Why it looks empty
Rollo livres here
You know what they charge for things in Raleigh and arm and a leg
It is important to see if there are luxury apartments and middle class resident who are actually living in the downtown.

i'll bet people interested in moving to Raleigh, $187,000 jobs...
Huh?
Raleigh is growing fast my ass . The downtown sleeps at seven and it doesn't have a store selling fruits or vegetables.
They’re putting so much work in expanding the suburbs but the downtown is getting left behind. It’s the standard for American city design.
Is conversate a real word?
