      Dennis Chan EU didn’t even touch korea. Fnatic reached rivals without facing a korean team and G2 only beat RNG in knockout. As for VIT and G2 in groups, their matches against the Koreans didn’t do anything to affect the outcome

      Dylan James Chang TBH. Would you be excited about a world championship where LPL never meets LCK (before S8)? Worlds is so great because it has stories to tell - a hard-trained warrior finally defeats the King. No king, no story, no need for warrior too.

    • @miketurns18
      @miketurns18 4 года назад +1

      Tbh I miss worlds 2016. It was how words should be. Sorry I can’t remember who SKT went against in the quarter but the semi and the finals..... ROX and SSG brought SKT to the BRINK. The BRINK of defeat. Honostly any of those 3 teams deserved to be world champions. Rox has that mf support pick and their overly aggressive style of play. SSG has some of the best comebacks ever (skt threw hard 2 games in a row). These last two years were kinda dissapointing. Once IG took out KT in game 5. They just went on a stomp, beating the European teams 6-0. If KT had won that game 5. They also would have just stomped the remainder. In 2019. Other than invictus. FPX had 0. Literally 0 competitions. While people complain about SKT and Korea winning worlds over and over, those worlds were intense, close. And even though Korea isn’t winning anymore, it’s just because China has so much of that Korea talent (like world champions, theshy, rookie, duke on the 2018 IG squad)

    • @panner11
      @panner11 3 года назад +1

      @@miketurns18 Well during the Korean reign, 2016 was the only one where the finals was intense. The KR vs KR in 2017 was 3-0 and in 2015 it was 3-1 but SKT was barely challenged. As for 2016, other than those two series, the rest were also pretty bland. Korean dominance didn't result in close series for the most part.
      And we saw what happened to China in 2015, when they tried to rely on importing korean talent. In reality, the reason why China finally won in 2018 is because they developed better talent in their own region. This is also why Europe is doing better now too. Europe and NA also both relied on korean imports starting in 2015 and not much came of it. But now full European rosters with young players are doing well.

Not only did he trash talk a c9 after a match instead of showing respect but then also calls out their top laner and brags about controlling the top side. Completely disrespectful. This year is all about the team that plays humble. Look at RNG and FNC.

    • @Eliagiulio
      @Eliagiulio 5 лет назад +7

      As the casters said, it's not that FNC weren't humble. They had to show some bravado (it's basically policy in the EU lcs for riot made interviews, if you look at FNC own interviews, you hear Rekkles saying that if he loses he'll just try again) especially considering their opponent

    • @senobi4618
      @senobi4618 5 лет назад

      @@Eliagiulio There's still a way to say things, "Bravado" isn't about trash talking everyone in semis because you had the easy draft. Look at how Rookie talked about every opponents saying they were crazy amazing so that in the end, it would be " not skills" but "dedication and will" that would decide the victor. Rekkles went and said everyone was below him literally downgrading his opponents. No respect deserves no wins. IG sportmanship's won the finals and they well deserve it.

    • @Eliagiulio
      @Eliagiulio 5 лет назад +2

      @@senobi4618 He never talked down anybody, when we got to semis he was the best adc left in the tournament on paper. Saying that he can beat them isn't trashtalk. And he was one of the FNC members who played up to standards in the Final

    • @senobi4618
      @senobi4618 5 лет назад +1

      @@Eliagiulio First, saying terms like I'm the best adc left would be fine, but let's define some things here. On the topic of the "best adc lef ton papaer", that argument has little to no back bone here. The first point that would explain why is simply who Fnatic had to face for those "statistic" to rely matters. So you got 100 thieves, G-Rex, IG, EDG and C9. Within those Fnatic drop 2 games to IG and EDG. It's easy to say Rekkles is better than Rikara, Sneaky, Iboy and the adc of G-Rex who's name evade me. Already his statistic will prove to be much higher than Jackeylove that has to go through Kt's bot lane, Doublelift and almost would've went again vs Uzi if it wasn't for G2's upset. Second of hand, it's excessively hard for Jackeylove to have stats like Rekkles when his solo lanes literally destroy games after games taking all the stats.
      Another argument is the champion pool, Rekkles never dominated anything, he simply picked champs that could push lanes until they were teamfighting were he was better, but honestly, caps and Bwipo did most of the work for the team to be ahead at that point. Again, going through easy teams would boost thoses stats. Jackeylove on the other hand played the most dominant champions in the meta and played very forward most of his game. Hi never played safe wave clear style. There's a reason why Uzi said he never wanted to scrim against him again because he was so intense no one could equal him in his best performing days.
      The third point is where lies the respect by the choices of words. Rekkles never said words like : I know I'm very good and I'll use this to make sure to win this Worlds. He said more words like : At this point, no one is has good as me so I don't see us losing. Have you any idea how much more competitive is China from Europe ? how much these players have to dedicate and work hard ? His basically saying that he's better then someone that went 37/5 in China and scared Uzi and won lanes vs Uzi constently. That in itself is insulting. To say other players are lower than you and horribly lose afterwards just show much a player he is. Rookie (who was considered by mostly everyone to be the best player of the tournement) always preached everyone he had to face and oftenly said they were just as good if not better but that his on dedication and will to win would prevail. That's what confidence AND respect his about.
      From the beginning, Rekkles and Bwipo has been saying a bunch of unrespectful comments towards other teams because they were excessively lucky for their draw.
      I understand that you're a big fan of Eu Lcs, but I do not preach teams that have horrible attitude like that. The fan basde really reflected Fnatic during the tournement, calling everyone trash on social media meanwhile people that followed G2 were one's of the best people I've seen. In the end, Fnatic were outclassed not due to "underperforming" but mostly because even on their best day, they were world apart from IG. Before you bring the Group stage part, Invictus had still so much doubt coming to this world. So at that point in the tournement, their own pressure was so high, Rookie puked almost everytime before he started a match. But once they won vs KT by the way they did, they realize they could just win it all and after that we all saw the level in which LPL is played. Teams like KT Rolster, Invictus, RNG and Griffin would've all win vs Fnatic.

Doublelift has never had a good performance internationally so you cant tell me hes good. And fnatic also went 2-1 vs IG too so rekkles was probably a bit better than jackey after semis tbh

    This Worlds perfectly sums up season 8 as a whole. Underwhelming. I’m not sure if it’s just because SKT wasn’t in the running, but Worlds this year just didn’t even feel like Worlds to me.

      Yeah it's weird, he's always so humble, he always mentions how Uzi is better than him. But in this worlds, he just got super confident, he did make it to the finals though, so credit where credit is due, but I think he failed to see how good IG was.

      @@oskarelysee9076 I see you get this in recommanded after 5 months aswell ...in EU , there is a thing that make you stop working hard to achieve a goal if you have to get through the same obstacles, It is bassically a european "disease" , in this case FNC beat IG twice in group and they thought they can do it again,they probably thought they already won and that is where the mental boom comes after losing the first game . Thank me later and dinate to help EU find a cure for this disease, i think it is called laziness in modern language .

      @@16DarkOne16 I'm European myself, also I really don't think this is true. IG was performing way better in the final, they had improved great strengths over worlds. Fnatic had unfortunately not. Also in Rekkles case, he seemed to have forgotten about the "janteloven"
