My favourite is St. Wulfric of Haselbury. He was hedonistic until he spoke to a beggar and then decided to become an anchorite (a type of hermit). He absolutely roasted two kings (Henry I and Stephen) about their numerous evils and treatment of the poor, in the king's court. He would also take freezing cold baths in winter whilst saying the Lord's prayer, wore chainmail and heavy shirts, barely slept, didn't eat meat, and he dressed as a beggar in rags. He was known for doing miraculous healings and was a prophet. He actually predicted the death of Henry I.
