Bali Bey chases up the clue he has found. Suleiman who is proud of Mehmet's success gets devastated with the bad news received from Manisa. Suleiman who is on the brink of the abyss revives miraculously.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Mihirmah was a born sultana. Hurrem was brought to the palace as slave. Difference is huge.
In real life, Mihirimah was her father's pride and joy, and she was the only child of his who he sought advice from. Hurrem taught her daughter well.
Actually she would fit to be a Regnant Sultan too bad the Ottoman Dynasty is not ready for a female ruler but the odds will be if all his brother dies before lher and no male heir will be left perhaps Sultan Sulieman will change the rules and tradition and probably gave Mihrimah to rule and elevate Rustem title from Pasha to a Prince.
But later their relationship wasn't the best cause Mihrimah funded Beyzaid 's rebellion
No blood sultana ever spoke their mothers name it was all fathers because they were the sultan with power but mihirimah is the only Sultana who had the love privilege power of being so proud of her mother, Mustafa could not say so loud anything about his mother not even hatice shah beyhan sultanas they all took their fathers name to show power and status but mihirimah and her brothers used so many chances of bringing hurrem name on own or along with Suleyman like that is HURREM!!!!

I never understood and I will never do it, why children want to ressemble and to be just like their parents? If the parent wants to destroy himself, so be it. But at least, children should not follow his parent at this path of madness. Mihrimah should follow her own path. That's the road of the heart, not to follow orders and build your own character for yourself and for the others around you.

But unlike Mahidevran, Hurrem seldom showed any weakness and that's how Mihrimah came to admire Hurrem's resilience that she obeyed all her mother's wishes (even marrying Rushem). Everytime I watch this, I look at Suleiman when he's leaving. It looks like he knew Shah wouldn't be there when he returned. Like he left Mihrimah in charge so she could get rid of her.

They saw how evil hatice, Mahidevran and Ibrahim were, they saw how many terrible things they did and still they were their lap dogs. No character at all. Gulfem was always so annoying and so passive-aggressive to me. Like she was always so nosy and had to stick her nose into everyone's business even tho she knew she's nothing and has no power in the palace. Her whole life, in her head she lived in the past, thinking she's still something to Suleyman and the dynasty, but in reality Suleyman only let her stay in the palace because of the pity. As you said, she was more dangerous than others bcs she was a snake, always hiding behind others and changing sides easily and pretending she is innocent in front of Suleyman.

Agreed, I wish they show would've shown her relationship in a better light with Selim. because she does run the Harem as Valide for a few years after her fathers death. She and Selim didn't hate each other like portrayed in the show.

Mihrimah didn't have a request for Shah to be fulfilled, she had a command for her to be obeyed 😂👍 she valued position, status and wealth the most (she shamelessly even tried to take Hatice's palace after given permission to stay there) and Mihrimah took it all from her. But she still had mercy, she let her go with dignity. Mihrimah could take away her reputation also but decided not to. Banishing Shah, the aunt who hate & caused misery for her mother, out of the city and draining her funds, is a well deserved revenge for her. She wanted power but her husband was no more here, she kicked out of the palace & became quite poor. Even if Mihrimah wanted to make Shah her ally, she was useless. Better get rid of her, especially since Hurrem wasn't even found.
Actually this way was the ultimate revenge against shah......no insults, slaps or yelling would really make a mark.....If anyone remembers Hurrem was about loyalty but she also put much importance on keeping the reputation of the Dynasty intact. MIhrimah learned quick...and she applied it this time.....she kept it hush but brought down the hammer on the evil shah....truly she deserved way worse but i believe Mihrihman showed restrained in respect to her father, who had already suffered enough with the evil sisters................at first, i felt sorry for the maid when MIhrimah told her, her fate ..being dumped in the ocean..but i remembered how she schemed shameless and still tried to instigagte trouble while talking to shah sultan.... Shah was not so smart after all..if she was ...she would have never done such a dumb thing of sneaking first firial then the maid...the was such a stupid thing to do....like doesnt take a genius to figure that out....

Was something cooking between Sah Sultana and Mercan Aga. I can see those emotions in the last scene
He was IN LOVE. I wouldn't doubt she had something going on with him.
This is not to downplay Mihrimah's intelligence (she is enormously clever so although acknowledging the fact that Suleiman forgiving her everything helped her a lot except for the horrible marriage he forced on her with her mother) I say that but I think Sah was already planning to give up, Mihrimah just sped things up. Sah no longer had a husband (although she is very well to divorce this horrible man) she has failed to bring back happiness to Hatice. When she fought Hurrem it was mainly for Hatice, now that she killed herself she must blame herself (even if she doesn't show it) and has no reason to stay here anymore. Also as she says she doesn't want to fight her own blood (deep down she doesn't hate Mihrimah and even has to sympathize with her, she herself couldn't marry the person she wanted and was forced to to be with another).
What is good in this scene is that we see that unlike Ibrahim who refused to accept the "deal" that Hurrem offered him to leave the capital in exchange for his life, Sah accepts which shows that she has more common sense than him.
I really liked her relationship with Mercan (too bad we don't see him again in season 4). Frankly their relationship is better and I still don't understand why the plot planned that she was initially in love with Ibrahim, Mercan is much better (even if he is terrifying).
Finally, whether we hate or adore Sah, let's recognize that she is the most intelligent and also the most profound antagonist (even if she's a real elitist and a snob, we see that she too is deeply hurt never had the true freedom like to marry the person she loved besides having had Selim Yavuz as a father was surely traumatizing, so that can explain that she is a "ice queen" and has some real redeeming traits if we exclude her faults). In short, she is better than Ibrahim both in intelligence and morality ( so that's why I disagreed when some said that was Ibrahim the most dangerous opponent to Hurrem).
I agree to all fronts. Sah was indeed the toughest opponent Hurrem could ask for. She really helped her stay in shape after all of her recent victories.
And while I indeed hated Sah's coldness arrogance and elitism, I respected her for her intelligence rationality and levelheaded approach to things. Quite a refreshing change to plotting Mahidevran and overly emotional Hatice.
Plus, Denise cakir was an amazing actress and wore the role of Sah-Huban Sultan perfectly.

It would have been a great scene and it would be consistent with the character of Sah and Mihrimah. And it would be a good lesson to Mihrimah : even if you are very smart never underestimate your opponent (it would have been a better lesson that even Hurrem could not have taught her).

Mihrimah could've handled the situation better by telling her jealous husband right away that she was the one who called M there. Instead she just waits and let things get worse.😂 One of those few occasions she acted dumb (although she did tell Rustem, it was only after he began acting like a bull that we see in Spanish bull fightings).😂😂
be careful, that YOU are not dumb. :) How could you forget about totally different manners and strict patriachal traditions of those times? Mihrimah was Rustem`s husband, - THAT already meant a lot, that`s why she also had to explain herself before him, - if it wasn`t for his STATUS, she wouldn`t have had to do it.
So, she didn`t want to openly argue with him before another man. Besides she always tried to act classy, as she represented empire, she was Sultan`s daughter, not a flower girl or a market hatun. :))) She was brought up since childhood to always act in accordance with her high STATUS! It meant a huge lot in those times, it often was like a burden, actually.
So, get your head straight! :)
Don't get me wrong, these translations are better than some of the other ones, but I've learned enough from watching these shows and studying the language to know when they are adding more to it than what the actors are actually saying and its kinda pointless in my personal opinion. Like the last bit between the guilty servant and Mirimah (yes I know I'm butchering names). Im going to just say M for her...she doesn't say no mercy will be shown. She says the servants name with the title of Lady before she says her name and finishes with the last line of i do not forgive. Sorry, I know its knitpicking lol. I just like to be able to know that what they say is what is translated.
I love that song/music they play throughout the series, Right now I hear it when shah sultan is thrown out and leaving palace, at about 29:00, so eerily sounding, the lady’s voice. I just love it.
The sound track to this series literally has its own part. It's fantastic.

If you continue the series, you can see that Shehzade Mehmet dies not long after this confrontation. And Sultan Suleyman mourns the lost of his favourite son.
After the burial of Shehzadeh Mehmet, Hurrem Sultan directly comes back (but the older version). So, on screen, Sultan Suleiman never mentioned Shah Sultan after that. He had no time to process everything that was happening 😅

In that scene, if I’m not mistaken, Sunbul was reporting to the Sultanas that Shah Sultan was living in a place to atone for her sins and she’s got no more power.
Sah Sulatana leaving the palace and Istanbul is a big deal, so i think a letter must have been sent to Suleiman right away to inform him of his sister 'choosing' to leave the palace etc... a minor event for the series to show Suleiman reading a letter so the writers probably did not bother to make a scene of it...
