Solo Wild Camp on a Sketchy Lake District Ledge ( Testing The DJI OSMO Action 4)

- A subzero night in the Langdales perched on a precarious shelf one metre from a vertical drop of over 200m. Risk equals reward or so they say and on this occasion it really payed off with a stunning sunrise/sunset and cloud inversions and skies on fire.
On this occasion I dropped a little pack weight probably around 3kg as I left the full frame camera behind in favour for the DJI OSMO ACTION 4, after not using an action cam for a good few years I was intrigued to see if things had changed enough to replace a dedicated camera. I'll Let yous decide how you feel the quality is however I appreciate any feed back regarding my video.

Well mate, what a video, absolutely outstanding. A spot and a half to camp that, the footage certainly did it justice. That new camera looked pin sharp mind, tying in nicely with the drone shots, class. One of, or possibly your best film to date this, keep them coming.

I’m loving the camera it’s an absolute dream to use and barely notice it plus the weight saving is crazy! Imagine in summer if I leave the Panasonic at home I reckon I could have a 3/4kg pack 😮. Mate the ship is a right treat to use certainly easier than a ff camera and the low light abilities are pretty decent tbh. Ha ha I was giggling and talking to myself on the summit 😂 I was that chuffed lol. Hope you and the family are good and can’t wait to see your results from the action 4. ATB steve

Cheers Jimmy yeah suprised me how good it was I’ve no doubt when I fine tune it it will be better again that’s straight out the box so hopefully improve over the coming camps. Mind it was decent in lowlight still no full frame camera but I saved about 3kg of pack weight here which made getting up much easier. Ahh mate cheers absolute beaut conditions up there that weekend and couldn’t have asked for anything more apart from a faster micro sd card for the drone 😂. Ha ha the table is a stick table from gooutdoors weighs nothing and is always level regardless of where you pitch. Thanks for watching pal 🙏🏼

Outstanding Steve! So good I watched it twice! Loved the pitch and thankfully the weather cleared up for you to get those amazing drone shots. The morning light and inversion was breathtaking. The action 4 is well up to the job as you have so ably demonstrated here, and with the wireless microphone that doesn't need a reciever I think GoPro have some catching up do do! Look forward to the next one👍👍
Honestly I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again if a content creator like you can praise me on a vid I’ve produced I’ll take that mate I’m over the moon 🙏🏼. The conditions were perfect they really were and changed so much continuously improving and changing colours. Great video Steve, just invested in the same camera, nearly dropped my Sony in a stream, results look and sound very good. Langdale's have been some of my favourites so far up there, love it. Thanks for sharing, keep me going til I'm back out 😁

Cheers mate it just all happened once I got to the top it was heaven. The DJI is mint tbh decent in lowlight too and for the money the adventure bundle is it’s a no brainer, then factor in the wireless mic it’s a winner mate. Wished I used a decent memory card for the drone though loads of mint footage I couldn’t use. Cheers for watching and looking forward to seeing your latest one 🙏🏼
