  • The Volkswagen ID. Code is a glimpse into the future of the brand’s next generation of cars, with a host of advanced technologies, including Level 4 autonomous driving and a virtual avatar assistant that can help with day-to-day tasks - the ID. Code has been created specifically for the Chinese market, but designers have hinted that its styling could seep into European models, too.

    As a loyal VW customer I can say - don't be afraid to use more Porsche elements in your futer designs, it’s now time to put all VW group’s magic cards on the table to win this battle with Asian EVs which already have brave designs (even concepts) in use.

    • @krane15
      @krane15 Месяц назад

      The first Porsche was a VW. But I don't think Porsche today would want their designs going back to its roots. If it makes you feel better, there is a lot of trickle down throughout the group.

      At this point you will only win with brave unique design. Pretty much all cars are so good and so alike. BYD is taking the world with storm and that will only make people realize maybe the Chinese are not that bad.

    It's crucial for Volkswagen to maintain as many of the concept's distinctive features as possible in the market-ready model. If they can achieve this, it's bound to be a great success!

    While establish car brands are making concept looking cars,China is making concept design EV into production which makes it more appealing to customers and also more futureristic and of course very cheap for the average consumer to enjoy.
    VW should put this concept as it is into production and not change anything to look like a normal vw we see on the streets if it wants to gain market share in ev segments as Chinese EV is coming in to EU to dominate.

    Fabulous design, more of this yes please. Great proportions, great 'stance', a keen eye on the design. Very aesthetically pleasing which some manufactuers seem to think is not important but something that is so simple. The sleek and unfussy design will work on so many different models bigger and smaller. Not so keen on the avatar on the window, can't see the advantage on that at all.

    Nice a refreshed ID4 look, but MEB/ID4 has dreadful slow CCS charging speeds, ID4 screeching panoramic roofs, haptic controls a disaster to use reliably, bring back buttons, for heating, hazard lights, steering wheel controls, no battery pre-heat. Only dark interiors dull as ditch water soviet dark grey or black, no bright beige leather interior options.

    REAL VW enthusiasts don't care about children's electric toy RC cars! I sure don't, owned numerous VW'S but would never ever buy an electric car! My favorite VW that I owned :
    1985 GTI 8V
    1997 PASSAT 12V VR6
    2001 GTI 12V VR6
    2004 R32 24V VR6
    these are just my favorite ones! Oh, bring back the awesome music 🎶 from the VR6 as an option plus a 2 door GTI. Not everyone in the States likes 4 doors in Europe they still offer 2 doors. Why not in the states!!

    • @krane15
      @krane15 Месяц назад

      I care, but hey don't supplant power or performance I've always considered VW to be the affordable performance car. Sadly, the VR6 is no more, and its unlike its coming back. Definitely needed in the Atlas though. Or at least an electric motor.

    VW has a tendency to tantalize the consumer with innovative and beautiful design ideas, but when it comes to actually putting them into production, they usually strip most of it out. Case in point, the ID Buzz, It had gorgeous features in the concept vehicle, but they really dumbed it down when they put it into production, and for me, it lost most of it’s appeal.

    I think this generation of cars is going to age horribly. I'm already tired of these fat jellybeans with tiny windows, squinting headlights, oversized wheels, thick pillars, low ceilings, big screens with bad software, no buttons and backseat passengers sitting with their knees by their ears! 😆

    Volkswagen hasn't changed its mind about the futuristic design yet. They're obviously going for aerodynamics, but it's un-salty, ungainly and I don't see VW in it. Who needs a car that flashes at them like a Christmas tree?! That's not the future for me.

  • @krane15
    @krane15 Месяц назад

    Nice body design but that's where all the advantages to this concept ends. This car is chalk full of gimmicks. First, the avatar frightens me (must be a Chinese thing?)
    Second, door handles. Why are we making things so complicated here? Third, solar roof. Don't want it, don't need it. I want a sunroof that actually opens. That was the whole point of the sunroof in the first place before they were glass. Its that they open, not the glass.
    Third, the wheels are notoriously ugly. Which is the state of all aero wheels save Tesla. I get it, they're more efficient, but they're still ugly. I'd trade the efficiency for something more aggressive in an instant. I can see that the rear window doesn't go all the way down. My OCD could never accept a car like that. Finally, that tiny rear window. Even though it was. As for the seats, they don't look comfortable at all. I can't imagine sitting it the injection formed plastic shell on an all day cross-country trip.
    One more thing, VW is notoriously famous for building under-powered vehicles, which will always make them cars with nothing special other than to be different. Hyundai (a much newer company) has already surpassed VW in performance and power the their N division that leaves anything VW makes, look like its dead in the water. The Ioniq 5 N, for example.
