Thank you for much filter heads for this perfect video!! My dealership was gonna scam me by charging me $180!!! for this!! Escaped narrowly. Got the filter from your site for less than $11 and installed it without any issues with the help of this video! Appreciate your help so much.
You're welcome!
They are charging me $140 to replace it, I’m a go home and do it myself. Thank you for sharing

You're welcome!
saved me 50 bucks man. thanks for the upload
No problem 👍
To anyone watching the video and can't get the housing cover removed (The video shows him squeezing the clips to show they move). I kept trying to squeeze these clips and pull it out with no luck. Finally watched another video where the person just pulled it outward and it snaps out. So - no need to squeeze the clips. Just pull it toward you and it will pop out of the plastic that's holding it in place.
Thank you for informing us!
Juast what I needed to see - thank you! Even a half-blind old man can do this in 4 minites, I wonder why the dealer wants so much to change this filter? By the way, after one year in south-central TN, this filter still looked good, but it did have some debris in it so I am changing it this week. Thanks again!
You're welcome!

Is there an Avalon filtering system in place before the outside air even gets to this cabin filter?
I do not have any data showing one exists.
THIS USED TO BE SO HARD IN OLDER CARS.
Yes the process was a lot harder on older cars but luckily Engineers are doing a better jobs on most newer models.
But which way is the air flow going?
Filters for Toyota vehicles do not use airflow indicating arrows. They instead use the text "UP" to indicate which orientation is considered the right side up. So as long as you install your filter according to the text orientation, the airflow will be correct.
omg i was gunna pay someone to do this for 77bucks lol
Happy to help you save!
@@filterheads thanks so much
man im so annoyed because the fliter tray points up and It makes you think the filter should point that way too. Really dont like that Toyota made it that way

Where do the arrows face
Our arrows point down to indicate the direction the air is actually flowing. It should also be noted that the arrows on the OEM filter can be misleading if you intend to replace with an aftermarket filter. The OEM filter has "UP" arrows, whereas aftermarket filters show air flow arrows. If using an aftermarket filter, the airflow arrow should be pointing DOWN. This will make sense to you when you pull out the old filter and notice that all the debris (leaves, bugs, etc.) are on top of the filter. Therefore, the airflow travels downward, through the filter and into the blower vanes.
Dealership wants $45 to do this. Insanity
