The Russians are probably speaking loudly about an emergency convening of the UNSC. Little do most know, but The Day After is about to become a reality. They'll know in some hours when the sirens sound.
It truly seems to be challenging to implement the NTU Mod balance-wise as I see it featured in more Vids...
If I had any suggestions for a challenge, I'd say at least a pair of Diesel-Electric Subs (Kilo or Tango) w/in 60 miles E/NE of the SAG (I.e. victims to time compression), throw in both 1 Sovremennyy & Udaloy class as Slava SAG escorts. Ditch the Mig 25's as Bombers in favor of being Escorts for the Backfires. For the Tu-22's, spawn in w/ at least a Squadron strength (12). & Lastly, more AAA needed over the Armored Spearhead (at Least 3 for adequate coverage).
Those are my thoughts at least. As I previously stated though, NTU is indeed a hard challenge to find balance for but, I definitely appreciated the Mod feature BrotherMunro! 👍
So some things i've noticed while watching this that may help you:
1.) a single F-14 can target multiple enemy aircraft with it's Phoenix missiles, simply select the phoenix at the bottom, hold shift and click away!
2.) When engaging with fighters, the AI automatically jumps in speed from whatever you set them to fly at (usually cruise) to MAX (I think, could be Afterburner) which severely reduces the fuel range of your fighters. To combat this, when the fighters are done engaging be sure to set their speed back to Cruise!
3.) You actually experienced a bug at 20:56 ! The bug is triggered when you either give an aircraft in a formation orders separate from the order of the formation leader, or in your case, when you detach an aircraft from a formation. The bug causes the aircraft to drop to Loiter speed and stay there, forcing you to order the aircraft back up to Cruise speed which is REALLY annoying.
4.) At 25:22 this was a bug in the NTU mod thanks to the release of an official patch. I say was because the NTU mod dev has since updated the mod to fix the issue.
Sidenote: I'm VERY surprised you got within 19nmi of a Slava considering the Slava has SAMs with 50nmi range, the soviets really wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt with that one.

Fun fact the USS America was originally going to be a Enterprise super carrier but due to cost overruns she was converted to a kitty hawk class
Great job and nice scenario! I loved the variety of assets and weapons you deployed and all the effective ways you used them. It was almost like being given a tour or tutorial of the game. We got to see recon, anti-ship missiles, anti-radiation missiles, cruise missiles, air to air missiles, and bombs. It’s also an awe inspiring demonstration of the fire power of a CSG. Really enjoyed it.
Note that unlike the NTU, the Kidds did not historically and do not currently have a VLS system - they still use their arm launchers.

Thanks brother Munro. I love seeing more modern ships on the game. Its cool seeing what if and or how powerful the ships are. These scenarios are so fun to watch. Thanks for putting this out early. Hope to see more fun sea power videos . Enjoyable as always. If someone can come up with scenarios where even the Americans with ntu struggle to beat the soviets in the mission. Would be awesome to watch for gameplay

Love your videos.. quick tip: instead of ordering your air planes to attack via clicking on the plane. Just click on the Missile selection at the bottom of the screen... they will not drop their external tanks.. hopefully still works.. haven't played in a few

Great video. Its a shame I can't manage to get this scenario to work. After Subscribing, I see it as number in the Mods section to enable. I have the other mode enables but don't see the scenario. Interestingly I've enables the "hard" version and that works fine, just a hard as intended 😂
I think there is like an MRU mod that was released that may balance out NTU though I haven't tested it yet.
You know how most of your cruise missiles went over the airbase, would having it lit up on radar make the strike more effective?

Curious that the game is marketed as naval combat in the missile age but you have to put on your own missile VLS mods. You'd think they'd come with those abilities already.
The game is set around 1980ish, although you can have scenarios as late as 1991, so a lot of the late 80's early 90's stuff isn't in the game

What is the best way to keep your planes in formation? It seems like 1 usually lags behind or goes in the wrong direction.
Let them form up before giving them orders and then change their formation shape to echelon or vic

@darrellhartanto4428 yeah, I know. But when he was playing the Chinese campaign, I asked if he'd do an American campaign, and he said he would after the Spain campaign. We all know how that ended. So if the game is actually playable now, then there's still hope.

After watching the 2nd Top Gun movie, the desire to Tomahawk spam is strong. Also, I would think they would be able to track their targets via GPS (it's not like these land positions move) with almost pin-point accuracy like during Desert Storm. NTU is really just allows the USN to commence the Tomahawk spam.
Also, how did the USN get a carrier passed the Bosphorus Straits and not deal with Turkish law?
Turkey is a NATO member , so they have the right to decide who passes. If this is a hypothetical NATO vs ruZZia war, then I’m imagine 🇹🇷 would allow other NATO warships to pass.

The US seems just a smidge overpowered with this mod.. Makes the scenario not much of a challenge.
