probably because it hasn't been a concept in Australia? Until this year I didn't even know we had Japanese shops. We had Malaysian, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Indian... But Japanese? If Japanese was offered it'd be a small menu normally attached to an 'Asian' restaurant. Asian meaning it's a mix of all the Asian restaurants/takeaway mentioned above.
Here are a few ideas. Not positive if these have been done yet so apologies if they have been done already. Try each others: Favorite mixed cocktails, Try to make a gingerbread house after having cocktails, Favorite holiday dessert, Try each others Meal they make the most at home, Who has the best Go to Mexican Food order, Aussie's try American Casseroles, Traditional American or Canadian Thanksgiving Dinner reaction, Go to Italian restaurant order, Blind taste test of the same drink flavor of different brands to see if they know which one is which, Who has the best Favorite frozen dinner, Vote on which Aussie chef makes the best of... insert item of choice.
Hey guys, if you like the gingerbread house building idea check out That Gingerbread Place in Castle Hill :) they have build your own Gingerbread kits that are really good!
I’m a little confused about Sybil’s critique on the katsu. She said “I love everything about this, there’s no part I don’t like, but I’m going in for a /Japanese/ dish” but chicken katsu /is/ a Japanese dish.
i think she meant more into the sushis and noodles aspect of japanese cuisine, because in indian cuisine we often eat our meat curries and rice very religiously 😂😂😂
@@user-bl7uc1dx6p I’m not saying she shouldn’t give critiques, I’m just saying that’s not a critique. Saying “I’m looking for Japanese food” when you’re eating Japanese food doesn’t make sense and isn’t a critique. I like her and I’m fully aware that their job is to give their opinions, I’m just saying that one short part of her critique didn’t make sense to me.
@@eriklovestoes I understand how they’re familiar, I just don’t understand why she implied that it wasn’t Japanese food lol. I think the phrasing could’ve been much better.
The holiday season is coming up so there could be a bunch of holiday themed videos. Not sure if any of these have been posted already though. -Aussies rank each other’s Halloween costumes. -Aussies cook and rank American Thanksgiving Dishes. -Aussies rank Starbucks holiday drinks. -Aussies rank holiday cocktails -Aussies rank holiday songs (preferably after the cocktail video while still drunk 😏) -Aussies rank each other holidays dishes. -Aussies rank each other Ugly Christmas sweaters.
Some ideas: - Meals you used to dislike but appreciate now - favourite road trip snacks - favourite toaster/ microwave/ instant pot meals - favourite family meals - favourite leftovers recipes (stale bread, cold noodles,...) - favourite Soup
Please try each other's favourite desserts (if you haven't already done so), favourite vegetarian dishes or your favourite food on a plate that you like to bring to a party.
some ideas! 1. Favorite Iced Coffee/Coffee orders + bakery items 2. Trying authentic Mexican meals (like pozole or tortas!) 3. Favorite comfort soups or favorite meals that their families made them while growing up :)
I’d love to see more “try you favourite (international) orders” or favourite food court orders or favourite vegan orders. Maybe a blindfolded see if you can tell it’s vegan comparison. Have vegan food beside their meat counterpart see if they can spot the vegan food then rate them. Maybe do a cultural segment where you introduce different traditions with food and holidays. Or one that talks about a specific culture they know about. Maybe even introduce similarities between cultures and traditions. Thank you for your continued entertainment 🙂
Maybe you can try each others favourite mexican food or taco bell orders ...or you can try each others favourite soups as soup is one of the most common food...or you can try each others favourite breakfast (it can be anything)...or you can try each others korean cuisine orders... Or each others ramen orders...or each others favourite cup noodles...or each others favourite frozen meals...or each others favourite tiktok hack dish....or each others favourite Schnitz orders...or you can try each others that one staple food that they eat the most 😊
How about Singaporean or Lebanese restaurant orders? Or trying each others afternoon tea. (Whether it's tea or coffee with cake, biscuits, crackers, muffins, whatever).
Aussies try and rate everyone's go-to bakery orders or favourite home-baking treats. For Christmas: Trying and rating each other's favourite. christmas desserts/dishes.
How about trying each other's favorite party platter to take to a gathering? Fav pasta salads, fav turkey dishes, fav homemade soups, fav stews, fav buffet meals, fav homemade desserts,
Oooooo maybe try each other's school lunches? Try each other's weird snack combos? Try each other's birthday party cake/foods (of choice lol)? Try each other's midnight snack? Play each other's fave childhood/current games? Try each other's fave beauty products for a week? Try each other's make-when-you're-sick foods? Try to follow each other's own recipes? Try each other's fave sandwich/wrap combos?
Ideas? Have you considered the hilarity of blindfolds? Favourite party trick of my youth, which was so long ago it might be a new idea again. You line up a few dishes, blindfold the subject and get them to try and rate. This is also a great way to resolve the question of 'who does the better..' since you cant see the thing you are eating.
To everyone living in Sydney - if you want some good tsukemen, ramen or katsu curry, come to where I work 'Rara Chan' Everleigh. I feel super weird advertising my work 🤣 But we genuinely have really tasty Japanese food. Also, the tsukemen is just on our menu for dinner. And it looks a lot better than the tsukemen here 🫢
Heres an idea. American Casseroles. There are so many, some delicious, some odd or weird or gross. You have tater tot casserole, tuna casserole, mexican chicken casserole, funeral potatoes, tamale pie, taco casseroles... even dessert casseroles. They are cheap to make, have large portions, and can be tossed in the oven to cook after you make them up and set them in the fridge overnight.
Maybe trying each other's favorite childhood meal? Also, I like Joe and his commentary - he's a nice addition
+1 for Joe..totally enjoyed his commentary!

why is it that they all knew what to do with the soba, but they were completely baffled by the dipping ramen? it’s literally the exact same concept?
Maybe the soba was given afterwards? But Sohan was still unsure with first one
Literally lol
Seriously lol
Because ramen isn't soba.

she said it’s too similar to what she grew up eating so she wouldn’t order it. it’s her personal critique ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
She’s referring more to the curry on the katsu. That’s made it very familiar for her.
